  1. WTF was interested in the "climate crisis"? The GND is a loser. These people need to run away from it.
  2. It is interesting to me that half the field is already trying to pull back from the socialist crazy, and the other half are doubling down on the socialist crazy. Note: Lizzy just had a great line : I don't understand why people run for President of the United States, and say what they cannot do (paraphrased).
  3. LMAO That is gonna be a Bernie meme... (he should never have thrown his hands up and bugged out his eyes)
  4. Magical math! Medical (medicare) for all, middle class costs will go down! - Lizzy Warren, not a member of Mensa Beto, Buttigieg who think middle class costs will go down with medicare for all! - also not Fields Medal winners
  5. Bernie looks like he's gonna stroke out. That is some high color he's sporting. Oh Bernie, Canada isn't a good health care example. We live in Buffalo. We see all the Ontario plates in the medical office and hospital parking lots.
  6. So are Beto's guests kneeling for the National Anthem? And I gotta say, the internal polling musta been a hoot after that last debate. Military welcome, national anthem, hands over hearts, smiles...
  7. Ha! Military welcome - after no one clapped for Tulsi last debate.
  8. Oh sure, Cory Booker is totally heterosexual. Totally. Why doesn't he grab that checkbox? Ummm ever known a black gay person? Let's just say they are either cut off from the black community or really cut off from the black community (the black gay guys I have known, including my niece's BFF so this is pretty current (and he has confirmed) have had to sneak in under cover of darkness to visit their mama). In general (nothing is ever absolute) it is better to be testosterone-filled, absolutely straight, black, and running for Democratic (or in) office rather than gay-anything and running for Democratic (or in) office. IOW, you ain't gettin' the black vote if you are gay.
  9. My biggest hope and dream for the debates tonight and tomorrow? At least half these people are gone for the next debate, and we are down to only one night. P.S. I'd follow VodkaPundit's drunk live blogging tonight to make the debates more tolerable, but my liver isn't that strong. ?
  10. My son is a millennial, but he's over 30 now so a reasonable human being (honestly, he's never been bad). I just wish he'd get married and have kids. This putting off marriage and children is not getting me any grandchildren while I am young enough to enjoy them. He is over-education, but no student loan debt, owns his own house (well, with his gf... did I mention I wish he would get married and have kids?), has a great job, yada yada. I don't have much to complain about... well, except the lack of grandchildren.
  11. Same. I have two large rolling tool boxes (that never move). I had them all nicely organized with tools, tapes, etc, and then the pegboards with screwdrivers, chisels, files, hammers, etc. Well, that was a terrible idea. It made it far too easy for Hubby to find something when he "misplaced" whatever tool he needed. He'll take anything I have organized and bring it over to one of the properties, and when I go looking for it I am SOL. We have had many a discussion about this terrible habit of his, but I doubt he will ever change. He's got a lot of good qualities though, so I live with it ... and run to Home Depot for whatever tool I need that he has appropriated that tool and left somewhere else. I also have a basic mini tool box stashed in the shed, but shhhhh no one tell him.
  12. Awwww now we can't clutter up the other thread? {insert sad face} j/k this is a good idea ?
  13. This is "close" to an 18 year high. Consumer Confidence rebounds in July to 135.7, the highest level since November • American consumer confidence rebounded this month to the highest level since November after drooping in June. • The Conference Board, a business research group, said Tuesday that its consumer confidence index rose to 135.7 in July from 124.3 in June. • The bounce back from last month’s drop was much stronger than economists expected. </snip>
  14. Welp, the EU had a chance to be reasonable, and now it appears they will be feeling some pain as well as the UK. I wonder if stuff likes this brings them back to the table with a more equitable solution? British PM Boris Johnson ‘turbo-charges’ plans for no-deal Brexit Johnson has promised ‘all necessary funding’ beyond the US$5.1 billion already allocated British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s government holds the first of a series of daily meetings Tuesday designed to ramp up preparations to leave the European Union without a Brexit deal on October 31. Government departments and businesses made extensive preparations ahead of the original March 29 deadline for Brexit, but after two delays, many plans were scaled back. Johnson has now ordered government to “turbo-charge” its efforts, promising “all necessary funding”, beyond the £4.2 billion (US$5.1 billion) already allocated. </snip>
  15. ACLJ Obtains Obama DOJ’s Immunity Agreements with Hillary Clinton Lawyers Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson to “Dispose” of Evidence and Refuse to Comply with Federal Law The ACLJ has just obtained previously unreleased documents related to the Clinton investigation and immunity agreements given to top Clinton aids. These agreements reveal that James Comey’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Loretta Lynch’s Department of Justice (DOJ) granted immunity to Hillary Clinton’s aids and lawyers, Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson, from prosecution for anything found on their laptops violating multiple felony criminal statutes governing the mishandling of classified information and/or the removal or destruction of records, including Espionage Act provisions. Further, the DOJ and FBI also agreed to evade the statutory requirements of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by purporting to deem the contents of the laptops as not under DOJ or FBI “custody or control.” </snip>
  16. I wish he'd like one of my tweets!
  17. Since we almost never hear anything about Gregory Craig in the news, I thought I publish some links about what is going on leading up to his trial. Very little is out there on any of the search engines. Kinda... odd. A sign of things to come? Judge blocks evidence that Greg Craig sought job for Manafort daughter A federal judge on Wednesday granted a defense motion to keep jurors from hearing about former White House Counsel Greg Craig’s efforts to get a job for Paul Manafort’s daughter at Craig’s law firm while Craig was engaged in a multimillion-dollar assignment for the government of Ukraine. Craig is set to go on trial in Washington next month on two felony charges alleging that he made false and misleading statements to the Justice Department in connection with the project to prepare a report for public release on a controversial prosecution in Ukraine that many critics regarded as politically motivated. </snip> What's been going on << paid subscription Greg Craig, Feds Say Ukraine Trial Should Last 2½ Weeks (mid August trial date, I could not find the start date) Former Skadden partner Gregory Craig and federal prosecutors have released a joint pretrial statement, voir dire, and jury instructions, agreeing Monday that a looming trial to determine whether Craig lied to U.S. Department of Justice officials about Jury Instructions
  18. Attorney General William Barr Puts Additional Limits On Asylum Claims Attorney General William Barr ruled Monday that being a member of a family harassed by gangs is not enough to qualify for asylum. In a ruling that will likely block a large number of immigrants from lodging successful asylum claims moving forward, Barr overturned a previous decision made by Board of Immigration Appeals, which found that being a member of family targeted by gangs or other criminal organizations could qualify them as a “particular social group” worthy of U.S. asylum </snip>
  19. My husband keeps bitching that they haven't raised. Trump keeps warning that they should not raise. Me? ?‍♀️ I don't know enough to have an informed opinion.
  20. If this is accurate, Wednesday should be fun. ?
  21. My vehicle, summer furniture storage, outdoor fridge, freezer chest, and a place where Hubby dumps his stuff until I pitch a fit. After the fit-pitching (usually when my vehicle starts driving into what resembles a cavern... that man can pack-rat like no one's business), the garage is cleaned out, and then we can fit TWO vehicles in it. Hubby would rather park his vehicles outside than put his crap away properly. If we ever move I want enough land for a 3 car attached garage and a 2 car unattached garage (or vice versa).
