  1. I wonder if they still intend to keep developing Tommy Sweeney. Those couple games he played in early 2019 he didn't look too bad. I know injuries sidelined him a lot this season. We shall see, I guess. As for Lee Smith, good for him if he decides to hang it up.
  2. Some of what he's saying is interesting. The only job he's ever had is football so he doesn't have any frame of reference for what it's like in other industries or whatever. Everyone makes friends at work that seem like your best pal Monday thru Friday but then one of you moves on to a new job and you just don't stay that connected. Comes with age as well. When I was younger it was easy to make friends at work and people were always hanging outside of work. Nowadays if I get asked to some non-work function with work people I always pass because I'd rather just go home. Many industries like football seem glamorous due to how much money they make but every industry has its dirty, seedy underbelly. Especially those northern elves that evidently control a monopoly on the holiday toy industry. Sketchy folks. Small hands. Smell like cabbage.
  3. Despite the fact that we've seen the defense really shut down some opponents over the last few years, McDermott's scheme is designed to allow yards and move the sticks at times. They usually clamp down in the red zone and force a team to kick field goals. That may have been the strategy against KC. They may have thought, "They're going to get yards anyway so let's try and contain and then lock down as we get backed towards the red zone. Hold them to field goals or make them miss on 4th down and get the ball back." Sounds nice in theory but honestly KC can score on any given play. Because they're big stupid buttholes and I hate their stupid faces and their stupid Kermit the frog quarterback. I want both teams to lose the Super Bowl this year.
  4. I'm sincerely beginning to dislike this guy. He's absolutely devoid of humility. I've seen clips of older players who were great in their day go and compliment him like, "You the best in the game, dawg" and his response was a cocky, "I know." There's a line between confidence and arrogance. As far as a lucky catch goes, eh, whatever. Seems to me like he'll be one of them great seasonal players who never does a thing in the playoffs. He should go read Dion's Players Tribune article about how they felt after losing that game. Cards treated it like a Super Bowl victory and then proceeded to lose almost every single game afterwards. And now their star player is focused on his one big play he had all year and not about how he can help his team get over the hump and start competing for championships. I mean, to each their own and all that. Arrogance just irritates me.
  5. Good dude, decent player, apparently a favorite in the locker room. He also feels a sense of loyalty to the Bills for scooping him up out of Denver and giving him a real opportunity. That said... I don't think he'll be back. Money is tight for them. I think they'll offer him but he might have a couple other teams willing to pay him a bit more.
  6. From the bottom of my cold, dead heart: both teams can go straight to H-E-double puck slappers. Can they both lose? It's a rule that I must always root for Brady's demise. But Mahomes is also a guy I'm starting to root against because I can't stand his cadence lol. Dude sounds like Kermit. "Balllooooooooo eightyyyyy...balllooooooooo eightyyyyy-ahh-HUT!" Go sit down, Kermit. Bitter? Sure. I'm sick of KC already and even though I like Bruce Arians, I need Brady to just go away and never return. 21 years of this BS. Enough's enough. They also employ that walking turdpile known as Antonio Brown. KC has their own walking turdpile in Hill. And then Kelce is like every obnoxious frat boy you've ever met all rolled into one. Cripes. Just replace the game with all of them lining up to get kicked in the nuts.
  7. Yeesh. It's obvious that Culley has a sterling reputation because I don't think you can say he was hired based on his results. Baltimore has one of the worst passing games in the league, due in part to Greg Roman creating very elementary route concepts and designs that aren't difficult for defenses to handle. I dunno. All I know is that one of my first criticisms of McDermott was his hiring of this guy. I just don't see it. Surely Watson will want out either way but last I heard he wanted to go play for the Jets which is like trading in your POS '87 Buick LeSabre with 234k miles on it for a friggin' '78 Montgomery Ward riding lawnmower with three wheels and no seat.
  8. He's a very versatile player which is a trait that McBeane really love in their players. It's possible. Joe B dropped his name as a possible trade candidate back at the deadline. I doubt he had a scoop that said they are interested, it's more just him connecting the dots and looking at players that fit what Buffalo does. I expect more under-the-radar free agent signings since the cap is a little tighter for them this year. I could see guys like John Brown and Trent Murphy being let go to create some cap space if they have some FAs they really wanna go after.
  9. Meh. I get what he's saying. I don't really think he's saying anything inflammatory. He's basically just saying you're not gonna beat KC with field goals. I understood the FG at the end of the half, he wanted to get some points on the board after the 21 unanswered by KC. I get what he's doing there, he didn't want the team to walk away with zilch and feel even more deflated. But I imagine a TD there would've provided a decent spark. I also thought Poyer's big hit would create a spark. There was just something missing on the Bills end. It is pretty infuriating to see KC be able to defend against them so well in both games this season. 32nd ranked red zone defense and that's all they could get? Bah. I also now despise Jim Nantz and Tony Romo.
  10. He could just take some vitamin D.
  11. As if a game like this doesn't already put your nerves on frazzled, I've got a 39 weeks pregnant wife over here. We've been joking all week that our little man is gonna decide to begin his escape from the womb right at 6:40p tonight, haha. She asked what would we do if that happened and I said, "Keys are on the counter, good luck!" Haha. It doesn't seem too likely that'll be the case though so that's why we're headed to the hospital tomorrow afternoon to be induced. I swear, I've felt more nerves over this friggin' game than the impending arrival of my kid haha. So today we'll be finishing up organizing the nursery, get the car seat all set up, watch the NFC Championship game, make sure our go-bag is prepped (still gotta run out and get some snacks, suggestions welcome!) and then try to settle down and watch our Bills. I feel like I should be with family somewhere, probably my one aunt and uncle with the 90" TV in their sweet heated garage, all standing around and pacing and hootin' and hollerin'. Stupid rona. If you've found a safe and healthy way to be around family and friends today, enjoy it!! I've had a hard time all week figuring out how to feel about this game lol. I didn't feel great about the Indy game. A few times I thought, "They could surprise them and pull off the upset, they're not a bad team." That one was an anxiety-fest all through the 4th quarter. Against Baltimore there was a point in the game where I said to myself "I think they got this." I never wanna make an outright pick befause, ya know, we all have our little game rituals and superstitions, but with this game I really feel like it could go either way but all week long my gut instinct can't help but lean Bills. Gah! I can't take it no mo'! Let's go Buffaloooooooooooooooo!!!
  12. So he wants to go from one completely inept organization to another? Cripes. I'm not sure I can sympathize with the guy anymore.
  13. I think Brown is trending up, he definitely looked better vs Baltimore than he did against Indy. Beasley looked like he was in rough shape all throughout the Baltimore game. I'm sure the plan for him this week is rehab out the wazoo and just light practice reps. Davis looked like he tweaked something, I heard McKenzie was dealing with something as well. Wonder if they activate Stills... Or maybe Kumerow? I know he's just gotten back so I don't know the protocol or if he'd even be able to play. How's KC against tight ends? Maybe in addition to Knox have Kroft active as well and scheme up some stuff for them? We shall see, I guess.
  14. Man, that Tre White is one gifted fella. A stud athlete and one of the best at his position. Plus, he's super smart (I think he finished his academics early) with crazy leadership and preparation skills. Dude studies film more than some coaches. And then to top it off he's a genuinely good family man with a goofy sense of humor. Becomes the first draft pick of the McDermott era and he sets the example for what the team looks for in its players. He's a cornerstone franchise player.
  15. In addition to this, I think they also were a little hamstrung in the play calling department because of all the bad drive starts against Indy. Whenever a team is backed up in their own end like that it limits your options. And in the first half of that game their average drive start was like their own 8 or something. I felt like I saw a little more motion and movement against Baltimore, where they had much better field position throughout the game. Hopefully Daboll can really open the playbook and get them into a groove early and then keep it rolling.
  16. Yuss! I really think this kid has a ton of potential. Also brings some size to the WR group, which is nice. The fact that they went out and brought him back tells me that they see enough from him in practice that he's in their future plans. That bullet he caught against the Broncos was one of my favorite throws this season.
  17. Didn't Allen struggle against Tennessee and KC because of the injury he got against Vegas? I recall Matt Hasselbeck saying he suffered the same injury and it effected his mechanics, causing him to miss high on a lot of throws. Saw the same thing with Josh during that time. And surely they had to tweak the game plan to accommodate his injury. Last I heard, mild day in the 30s or 40s with light winds this Sunday. Obviously that could change so we'll see.
  18. Just go play somewhere in the NFC, haha. Saints could be an interesting fit.
  19. I've been saying it since day one, Greg Roman might be known as a run game guru but his passing concepts are not that difficult to defend. He showed this issue in San Fran with Kaepernick, in Buffalo with Tyrod and it'll eventually happen in Baltimore. But, poor passing scheme or not, the Bills had him contained and flustered all night so I think his performance has a lot more to do with that than it does much else.
  20. Holy crap, hahaha. Thanks for the heads up. I was so friggin confused. I guess I'm still a little out of sorts. Still flyin' high from that sweet sweet pick-6. Taron Johnson should definitely win some kind of major award for that.
  21. What da heck is going on? How are both games airing at the same time? I thought KC/CLE was the late game today? I just flipped this game on after watching the refs help Timmy and the Bucs get a TD on their opening drive.
  22. The way he spoke last night sure made him sound like he rrrrrreally wanted the Ravens to win. Lamar Jackson could've sneeze-farted himself off the bench and Collinsworth would've been like, "Oh my, he is just so incredibly, unbelievably, extraordinarily amazing, Al. I mean, when we call his games, I know to pack at least 7 or 8 extra pairs of slacks because I know I'm gonna ruin quite a few! Heck, I had to change twice before the game even started!" He's a goon.
  23. Everyone got their heart medication nearby? Don't want any of you to keel over during the game. Gaaaahhhhh.
