They match Josh Allen up every year with a different elite qb which simply justifies his foundational greatest. The one thing that annoys me the most regarding the Lamer/ Allen argument is Jackson's abysmal playoff performances. I think we as fans obviously would love to see Buffalo get their first QB MVP. But the true objective I'm sure for JA17 is the Lombardi.

They're all on the edge of getting released/allowed to walk. Throw Miller in there too.

Seahawks-Bears anyone? (Live Game Thread)

I guess it takes an extra subscription to see replays before the next play. -
The bottom line is Lamar has far more weapons than Josh has. Take Lamar off this roster and Baltimore probably still wins 8 games. Take Josh off Buffalo and they're a 4-5 win team tops. If "Valuable" is the optimum word, then in a dead heat stats wise, Josh should win.

I wanted Brian Thomas in the worst way. I screamed at the clouds but no one listened. Who knows if Amari takes a team friendly deal? He has to contribute more going into the playoffs or things could get complicated. Shakir is really a very good short to intermediate wr. Fantastic at YAC. But he's not a deep threat or 50/50 guy. Coleman is still trying to figure out his role? Hollins is just an emergency outlet. I love the idea of throwing to 8-9 different receivers. But we gotta get a little more juice out of Cooper. Thomas on this team would have been devastating for opponents.

Our crap DL has been the glaring problem since McD took over. Sean and Beane have no one to blame but themselves.
-
The D is 11th in pts/gm (mostly because of turnover ratio) But where our pants are around our ankles is 25th in passing yards allowed/gm and 29th in 3rd down %. Beane & McDermott have had since 2018 to build a dominant front 4. And they have yet to do it. Is Defense really McDermott's expertise???

Week 17, NJ Jest v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
LABILLBACKER replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
This game is all about wrapping up Josh's first MVP. Yes the weather will suck like it always does. But 17 will need 2 passing tds and 1 rushing. Putting him at 41 for the season. No ints, wrap up the 2 seed and rest starters week 18. Bills 31 Ayahuascas 17 -
Broncos, Ravens, Chiefs - Can the Bills run through this gauntlet.
LABILLBACKER replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think our offense is flat out dominant when they want to be. But our defense is just awful without a pass rusher to make Sean's scheme work. Bass is statistically having a worse year then last 81% and the rest of Smileys crew is a mess. Most playoff HC's like Peyton, Harbaugh & Reid will coach circles around Sean. That's just the honest truth. So our really only chance to survive this likely 3 team gauntlet is to ask Josh to score 30+ every week. That in itself is a tough ask. When will our D & ST show the desire that we see from the offense? And if it wasn't for the positive turnover margin, we'd really be screwed. I'm putting the odds of us winning a SB with all these truths at around 15%. -
Priority Free Agents for Buffalo? Early Draft talk..
LABILLBACKER replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm down for signing Amari then go scorched earth on a 100% defensive draft. The problem is Cooper probably wants 18-20 and I'm not signing him to more than a 2 yr deal @ 30M. -

Exactly...we should handle Denver, but Baltimore & KC are a whole different challenge. Obviously objective #1 is get our defense as healthy as possible by the WC round. There won't be an elite pass rusher that magically appears. So McBabs will have to be more creative than ever. Stopping Henry early will be mandatory to have any chance. I like our chances with KC if our Nickel can slow down their TE's. Baltimore will be the hardest game. -

I want so badly to be optimistic going into the playoffs but the elephant in the room (our defense) just doesn't have the talent to stop KC or Baltimore. Even healthy were outmaned on defense. Without a pass rusher our zome scheme is trash. -
Without Dell & Diggs there doomed

Too much...2/$30M would be my final offer...and I'll throw in for free an elite HOF QB to throw to you.

That's the best scenario. Realistically I think he goes elsewhere for more money. We just haven't used him enough to justify keeping him. He does seem to have a great attitude.

Random talking head says something about the Bills
LABILLBACKER replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Part of the strategy acquiring Myles G would absolutely have to include more man press coverage. Would McBabs consider that??... Probably not...and there lies the problem. Trading for Garrett would be fantastic. Finally a game wrecker. -

Red Uniforms. Take them off. Burn them. Never wear them again.
LABILLBACKER replied to bmur66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why can't we use the retro helmets (standing Buffalo) once a year. Is that so much to ask? No, they might turn yellow and that would make it worse. -
This is true. Lamar and Josh have both improved so much. It's just so damn frustrating to see him runner up in those Rodgers years and seeing how he performs in the playoffs (100 rating) compared to Lamar (75 rating). I know playoffs aren't factored in but they should be. Josh just has to have at least a clean 2 tds v Jest game and get to 40. Then rest him week 18. His performance v KC, SF, Rams, Det. can't be ignored.

Will He Reinvent Himself: Coach Sean McDermott

I'd be down for that...they have generated turnovers this year. -

You're absolutely right. There's blame to go around on both sides. 2022 was such an emotional meltdown, I can't really blame either side. But over 10 playoff games since 2019, the Bills have given up 248 pts. That's almost 25 pts per game. 2019- Careless Josh 2020/2021- Defensive meltdowns 2022-Chaos & emotional exhaustion 2023- ST & Diggs Drama 2024- ???? -

Maybe Sean will be visited tomorrow night by the 3 ghosts of Defense.
