I'd embrace that scenario. The idea of Hamlin playing starting FS all season terrifies me.

I'd like to say goodbye to Von and Knox next year. Their contracts don't justify their production.

Joe Marino: 1/4 of Bills 2024 salary cap is dead cap!

Witch or Wizard....he's still allergic to wrs. -
Receivers the Bills could go after?
LABILLBACKER replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
The wr room is definitely a mess. There's no arguing that. And as others have said accurately, this organization is not aggressively interested in wrs. They will always expect way too much from Josh at the risk of weaker weapons. Teams like KC, Cincy, Mia, Hou and SF have multiple stud receivers. 20-23 we had 1 guy...Diggs. 2024 and beyond we may again have only 1 guy...Kincaid? The fact that McB have never surrounded JA17 with more weapons will historically be their downfall. -
Sorry Stef but the Bills did want to get rid of you. You left them no choice.
-
Exactly...Josh and Stef needed each other badly to vault their careers. And for the first few years it was magical. But unfortunately Stef's personality and history took over. I'll always appreciate what Diggs meant to this team and his competitive fire, but the end proved unbearable. He'll be 31 in Nov so the likelihood of him getting another 4k is slim.

Yup, I too have DTV and am somewhat satisfied but I'm praying this contract dispute ends like most. Usually resolved in 10-14 days and choosing this time as leverage. Anything beyond 2 weeks will be a problem.

We are definitely not winning more than 10-11 games this season. Our schedule is too tough and there's been too many players swapped out. The floor is around 8-9 wins. As @Shaw66 says we literally have "no idea"?

49ers first round draft pick Ricky Pearsall shot in San Francisco

Crime and a lack of punishment is rampant in California. Hope he recovers quickly. -
The winning combo will always be the holy trinity of Allen, Beane & McDermott in that order. Sean has his well documented flaws and he can't keep parading scapegoats out there forever. Brady & Babich will have to deliver. Beane will have to answer to establishing a below avg. WR room. 17 will have to be prepared to play slightly more conservatively and reduce the turnovers. If this team can minimize injuries they will win the AFCE.

McDermott's history with Safeties outside of Buffalo
LABILLBACKER replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've never once doubted McD's ability to develop corners & safeties. I'd love to see him turn Cine & Bishop into our previous pro bowl duo. But these guys aren't getting to Mahomes or disrupting him in the playoffs. Having a very good DB group is all good until Pat goes off script because we haven't had an elite or even top 10 pass rusher in the last decade. -
You are correct. Finding non diva elite wrs is tough but they do exist. Rice, Harrison, Andre Johnson, Megatron and even Justin Jefferson are out there. Coleman seems fun & grounded and hopefully he & Josh form a great chemistry.
-
So true, we need a Chris Jones or elite pass rusher which Josh has never seed in his career. We need an elite wr who won't be a distracted diva. And we need a HC who doesn't make blunders. Do that in the 4th- UFA portion and we might finally win a SB. Josh can't do it alone.

Now that the 53 is set, predict the Bills win total
LABILLBACKER replied to Cash's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wow, some of you are generous. Considering half our defense will be injured by week 10 and the state our current wr room, I'm saying 9 tops. -
Is this an obvious transition year?....of course it is. I've never been a McDermott fan and probably never will but I'm willing to appreciate him allowing his OC/DC to run things this season. With lost leadership went older players that due to diminished production had to go. For Von it's put up or shut up. Our kicker and wr room will be a major concern all year and there's no one to blame but themselves. If we can't keep the defense healthy going into the playoffs, it's all moot anyway.

I have absolutely no confidence in any portion of our ST. Beane completely butchered not bringing in competition with Bass. I'm sure Martin will avg 40y/ kick or less. And God help our coverage teams when they're not committing penalties. -
I don't care if we do a mind melt on him to get every play in McDaniels book. He's still a slight upgrade over The Trub....

What's our 4 year playoff defense dvoa? Just asking for perspective.
