  1. I've never seen a running back that could cut quite like OJ Simpson! ...In all seriousness, though, one of my favorite all-time football highlights is the play at 11:19 of the video below, against the Browns, where he has a few tacklers in hot pursuit, slides on his back/butt causing the defender to fall as well, gets up untouched, and proceeds to run away from them.
  2. Well... Some of us are better at seeing the talent level of players than others.
  3. More like...some of us have delusions of grandeur and unearned confidence. Like I've said before, though, props on committing to the bit. You're an excellent old timey wrestling heel. Like Roddy Piper or Ric Flair, but without the sense of humor and the style. Kudos!
  4. God almighty. Imagine thinking that 16 games and 1 start by a 3rd rounder are enough evidence to call him a bust. Woof. Even for you, Einstein. Woof.
  5. I don't really understand what your purpose was in engaging me on this matter. You specifically asked for my opinion. I gave it. Now you're explaining to me how message boards work. Color me confused.
  6. In my opinion, Diggs is a legitimate, high quality, top 10 WR1 in the NFL. A playmaker and a matchup dictator and a superstar, just like Tyreek Hill. In my opinion, beyond having a star WR1, both Mahomes and Allen have mostly had a cast of JAGs at WR. I do not believe that Mahomes has had better wide receiver corps throughout his career than Josh Allen. I'm not sure how else to state it.
  7. I think both things are true. KC DOES have the best QB in the league. Mahomes DOES have a lot of easy answers, provided by plays drawn up by a Hall of Fame offensive mind and one of the best to ever do it in the NFL. While I won't deny for one second that Mahomes is the best QB in the league and may go down as the GOAT, I still think it's valid to wonder what Allen's production would look like if he had Andy Reid calling his plays.
  8. Wide Receivers? Yes. I am denying that. Mahomes has had a Hall of Fame tight end and Hall of Fame head coach calling plays throughout his career and -- as of last season -- a better offensive line. I have acknowledged these facts previously. Those are the things that Mahomes has had over Allen. But receiver? I'm not buying it. Outside of Tyreek Hill, the rest of the KC receivers have always been a cast of replacement level players, just like Buffalo has had.
  9. You: "What dime a dozen talent had Mahomes turned into contributors? He has had a lot more to work with than Allen." Also you: "Hill and Kelce coupled with Mahomes was the best in the league… better than anything the Bills have ever given Allen and even with the Hill trade they still had JuJu and MVS with Kelce… not great receivers but not nobody’s/scrubs like the Bills trotted out last season behind Diggs and the inconsistent Davis. … the investment also isn’t nearly the same as the Bills lack there of." Don't pretend like you haven't been beating the "KC consistently gives Mahomes better receivers" drum recently. But let's suppose you were only talking about the past there, and not the present. Do you still feel like KC has a better receiving corps than Buffalo this season?
  10. Funny...that ranking seems to be of the opinion that the Bills have better passing game weaponry than the Chiefs. All I've heard around here lately is how Patrick Mahomes' receiving corps is sooooo much better than Josh Allen's. Huh.
  11. Was he in Happy Baby pose at the time?
  12. Just out of curiosity... Now that the Bills have Josh Allen, do you still want them to, um...ya know...bring back Flutie? I mean...his skin pigmentation and diminutive stature might make him an ideal fit as a slot receiver in the Erhardt-Perkins offense. Or he could be a drop-kick specialist? I'm just thinking out loud here.
  13. The Jaguars found him to be worth a massive contract, yes. Not necessarily "the league". Furthermore, the contract Jacksonville signed him to was pretty universally panned and second guessed as being a massive overpay. Still, I take your point.
  14. For those thinking it unlikely that a speedy WR could languish a bit in Arizona and then experience a breakout post-Cardinals, I'd point out Christian Kirk. Granted, Kirk had considerably more success and production as a Cardinal than Isabella did -- I'm not denying that at all. Still, it wasn't until Kirk's fifth season, and his first outside of Arizona, that he surpassed 1,000 yards receiving, while also setting career highs in catches and touchdowns. Again, not saying they're the same guy, or that Isabella is about to have the same success as Christian Kirk. Just pointing out that yes, sometimes players fail to flourish on one team -- an Arizona team facing OC and HC turnover and erratic QB play, in this case -- and go on to have greater success elsewhere.
  15. Anyone remember in 2009 when Dick Jauron, under renowned football mind and general manager Russ Brandon, decided to celebrate the 50th year of the Bills' existence by asking Trent Edwards to run a no-huddle offense? This happened. Alex Van Pelt was the offensive coordinator, and everyone was just kind of like "Hey, remember when the Bills were good? They ran a no-huddle! Perhaps we should run a no-huddle THIS year! It can't fail!" It was a big deal. Articles were written. Predictions of a return to glory -- behind players like the newly signed Terrell Owens and second year breakout candidate James Hardy (RIP) and speedy tight end Sean Nelson -- were made. This all happened. I swear it wasn't just a fever dream. Here, let me find proof... "New" No-Huddle Bills Resemble '90s Greats https://bleacherreport.com/articles/246369-new-no-huddle-bills-resembles-90s-greats#:~:text=In 2009 the Bills will, execute the no-huddle offense. Good gravy. What a time to be alive that was. THOSE were the days. Yes indeedy.
  16. Speaking of predictability...
  17. He posted 3500 yards and 30 TDs at Umass and was drafted in round 2, ahead of guys like DK Metcalf and Terry McLaurin. For whatever reason, he just didn't make any noise in Arizona. He had over 200 yards receiving his second season, which represents his career best in the NFL. After that, he seems to have been relegated to return duties only, and then wound up having a cup of coffee with the Ravens. The question is: was his lack of playing time and productivity in Arizona a result of his being a bad fit for their offense and/or the fact that their offense and QB play mostly stunk in general during his stint? Or is he simply a late bloomer and a better fit in the Bills' offense? Or, of course, option three -- his good camp and preseason play is much ado about nothing, with most of his work being done against 3rd stringers -- is also possible.
  18. Don't look now, but Andy Isabella seems to have a very real shot at not only making this roster, but playing real snaps on offense. Shakir hasn't seized the slot role. Harty seems to have a specialty/gadget/WR4 niche. The staff seems to like Sherfield at outside WR more than the slot. Meanwhile, Isabella keeps earning praise from coaches and players and climbing the depth chart. He was a 2nd round pick. He's physically talented. He's fast and twitchy. He has roster value as a returner. Still just 26 years old. Might be a perfect fit for what is asked of the slot WR in the E-P offense that the Bills run. I wouldn't have guessed it, but it just might be happening. Andy Isabella. Who'da thunk it?
  19. - It would be pretty awesome to see Khalil Shakir go out and just dominate. Win on routes, catch the ball, no drops, convert a 3rd down or two, maybe catch a TD. I think the coaches were hoping he'd step up and seize the WR3 role, and he certainly has not done so to this point, allowing Harty and Sherfield to catch up to and maybe surpass him. A couple big preseason outings could change the narrative. - I'll echo others in saying that I hope the 2nd and 3rd string OTs have good games. With Shell retiring and Spencer Brown having another up and down Summer, it sure would be nice to feel a bit better about our tackle depth going into the season. - Kaiir Elam: It's your time, buddy. You were a first round pick. You have all the physical talent in the world. You supposedly have an elite work ethic and burning desire to be great. Your moment has arrived. Go beat out the 7th rounder and the 6th rounder and stake your claim to the CB2 role once and for all. - Justin Shorter vs Tyrell Shavers in the annual battle to see who will be the "height/weight/speed specimen WR who is only really useful on special teams and can't play WR very well, but gets the fans hyped anyway because he's 6'4" and fast, so everyone is perpetually convinced a breakout 1,000 yard season is coming", aka the Marcus Easley Award.
  20. Josh Allen Sleeve Watch 2023. Get into it!!!
  21. Hmm... Isabella is certainly similar in some way, but I can't qwhite put my finger on it.
  22. I assume the answer you're looking for is "law abiding citizens".
  23. This isn't the first time I've read this. Everyone from message board posters to Bills beat reporters have speculated that this might be a possibility. Personally, I have not considered it to be a realistic possibility UNLESS Hamlin showed in practice that his effectiveness as a player was lessened due to the psychological toll of coming back from last year's incident. Prior to the episode in Cincy last year, Hamlin was solidly third on the depth chart behind Hyde and Poyer, and it seemed the Bills liked him as a potential long term fixture as a starting safety. Everything I saw and heard about their belief in him -- backed up by the playing time he had been receiving both situationally and as a fill-in player -- seemed to indicate that they felt he had a very bright future. To go from that kind of belief and faith from the coaches to being cut outright in just one season would take a major fall from grace. I have not at any point felt that it seemed likely, and I feel even less so now. I just don't see how or why they'd cut Damar Hamlin. Furthermore, I think it's reasonably likely that Hamlin and Rapp are your 2024 or 2025 starting safety duo.
  24. I am wildly displeased with this entire turn of events. I have been a loyal International Gamepass customer for years now. No longer. Based solely on everything I'm reading from everyone about DAZN, the poor quality of its product, and the associated hassles, I will have to find other ways to watch NFL football this year. A real shame. I really feel like a mass letter writing campaign to the NFL is in order. Surely they need to be made aware of the severe downgrade in quality their international product has taken. At a time when they're pushing very hard to turn the NFL into an international brand, you'd think it would be in their best interest to NOT have such a garbage product for the international fans. Hugely disappointing.
