  1. Punching at footballs is a fine approach to a turnover seeking defense ( along with sound tackling of course). What isn’t sustainable with turnovers is the fair amount of luck involved recovering them. The ball takes funny bounces, and even when doing the correct thing -(ie falling on the ball vs trying to pick it up) it still goes the other way sometimes. This has happened many times already this year. INTs have been dropped. The opportunities have been there, and they usually are. The luck just dries up at times.
  2. Thats the NFL for you.. never can predict exactly how things will play out. Each season is really its own story, and predictions based on last year are far from guaranteed. Allen repeating as league MVP doesn’t look promising, and the Bills offense as expected has regressed. As expected the main issue is likely the defense. Their performance is likely key to a turnaround or a downfall in 2025.
  3. They’re shattered! Shadooby….
  4. Sure, and the Hunt family will probably have a different definition than the Pegulas. I don’t disagree at all. Maybe the Pegulas definition is winning championships, but they feel staying the course is best. I’m not sure. That’s how it appears. Their opinion or definition along with maybe a few other key advisors is the only one that matters. I can see the argument for both, but I’m starting to think a major overhaul is necessary as the current model is looking shaky and hasn’t managed to stop Reid and Mahomes when it mattered most.
  5. It seems that longtime players may have finally aged out, and several years of mediocre draft pick results are showing through.
  6. Most Bills fans probably don’t frequent a fan form. While it is obviously possible to make a big change during a period of team success, I’d venture these instances weren’t driven by a lack of fan support. They were likely driven by a GM, an impatient owner ( or both ). Perhaps a franchise QB had influence as well. Fans usually support their teams when they’re winning. I’m not lobbying for McDermott here - or against him. I just don’t think fans have much to do with these decisions. Winning is the name of the game.
  7. Maybe not. Young at practice today, so still possible he gets the start.
  8. It’s not a hard cap in the NFL though. There are ways to free up space. The bill eventually comes due, but Allen’s not getting younger.
  9. Strange title. Pretty sure the fan base doesn’t hire/ fire coaches. Most patient ownership maybe, if it’s quantified by firing coaches.
  10. It definitely would. Beanes draft approach seems strange when WR contracts have increased massively in recent years. It’s an odd place to try to fill holes with FA’s.
  11. It’s on a lot more than just a WR. Besides, isn’t every player you sign as a FA one that another team didn’t re sign ?
  12. Can’t see the ‘hawks being sellers right now. They’re in the mix for playoffs and even the NFCW title.
  13. Pretty sure the contract situation makes it a very tough deal to get done.
  14. Perhaps this will bring added urgency to a potential trade for WR ?
  15. Wasn’t Keon Coleman early 2nd round ? If so, no 5th year option.
  16. Fwiw Obama always wanted a bigger area for gatherings in the White House. There you go- a ballroom courtesy of Trump for all future administrations to enjoy. Yet he never did , as he couldn’t pull off doing anything that wasn’t on the taxpayer dime.
  17. What should happen ( at least) is that McDermott should quietly take over the defensive play calling. Any firings can wait until the offseason, but you have to do everything possible to steady the ship in 2025.
  18. Agree. I have to think Saleh would get better results out of this group, even with injuries etc.
  19. It certainly was. A reported suggested the possibility of benching Fields and Glenn was incredulous.
  20. What took him so long ?
  21. He’s not wrong. The Bills wins in recent years have depended on a certain formula. With the exception of a few crazy comebacks, we Bills fans can usually tell in the first quarter or so if they’re on the way to a win. The turnover thing was crazy, but bound to be unsustainable. A regression was inevitable. They usually stayed out of 3rd and longs, and leaned heavily on Allen running. He was seldom sacked. This isn’t happening now, and they seem reluctant to run Allen very much. His off script plays opened up the offense. The defense isn’t good enough to make any big plays. There still isn’t much competition in the AFCE. Two of the four teams are among the NFL’s worst. The Pats had a decent record just a few seasons ago. A few years of mostly mediocre drafts/ FA by Beane are showing through.
  22. I don’t think Young is a good QB, but that doesn’t matter. We don’t have any choice, and neither do the Bills. It’s going to be Dalton. If they can’t design a defensive gameplan to stop him, the problems are likely not correctable this season.
  23. I mean, that was a Mike Mularkey led team from 20 years ago. There is absolutely zero relevance to the Bills of today. The fact is simply that this edition of the Bills defense may not be any good.
  24. Stay away for a few weeks at least, as a loss is certainly possible. Not inevitable by any means, but possible.
  25. BBFS… I mean Vrabel and McDaniels are the Bills undoing because of a 3 point win ? The fatalism runs deep on this board.
