Have You Started To Lose Faith in Josh Allen?
Boatdrinks replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Somewhat concerned, but he’s a big guy and seems pretty sturdy. He’s made a lot of big plays like that and they’re exciting. It’s a fine line, and the NFL doesn’t do a lot to protect QBs that aren’t among the anointed ones.Look at the shots Newton has been subjected to. I get it, but I also love his competitive fire and don’t want that going out of his game. I want him to hate losing, especially to NE. It’s a whole other level of hate for that team. He wasn’t running the whole time with his head down either. -
A sampling of other QB’s early career stats
Boatdrinks replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This babble doesn’t mean squat either, though. The Bills HC and brass will ultimately decide if Allen is their guy , or they will get someone else. Crusading on a message board won’t do a damn thing in this regard. Fans won’t have any part in the decision really. It’s as pointless as stats of other QBs current or past. Doesn’t have a thing to do with Josh Allen or the Bills. -
Week 5: Bills (+2.5) at Titans
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think much of it will be the same regardless of the QB. Neither has a ton of experience. They won’t have to worry about Barkley hurting them outside the pocket or extending plays. The Bills OL had problems in pass pro, and TEN will throw a lot of the stuff that worked for NE at them. -

Hey, I hope you’re right. I want my gut feeling to be absolutely wrong in this case. -

Sliding wasn’t going to get the first down. There’s a time to slide and that wasn’t it. A cheap hit doesn’t mean you don’t fight for a key first down. -

Obviously 4 turnovers a game cannot continue. It will be the end of JA if it does so no use in worrying. He will be replaced if it does. If the Bills HC and GM are ok with his progress, that’s what matters. Winning games matters most. Even with his mistakes, It was very possible that Allen pulls that game out. I didn’t get that sense with Barkley, but that’s just me. Anyway, it’s hardly shocking he had a bad outing vs a BB defense. If you had asked NFL media types if they would be surprised if Allen had his worst game to date in yesterday’s matchup, they invariably would have said “ not at all”. His track record vs young QBs is great. Allen absolutely needs to cut way down on the unforced errors. Throw it away, and live to fight another down. -

Have you listened to sports talk radio, watched NFLN or ESPN ? They are unabashedly gushing over NE on a daily basis. They’re wrong, but they are saying it. -
Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, the guy took zero risks. Not in his game; Allen is just the opposite. Way more common in Kelly - Marino era. Many of the hits they took are no longer legal by rule. There wasn’t a “ strike zone” for QBs and defenders helmets would hit them in the chinstrap. Totally different game then. -

Cool, I’m glad you’re relived. No, not really. -

Just my opinion. This is a fan message board. Don’t have to like or agree with it. -
Well that’s just plain ridiculous. Allen is the Bills QB until he convinces the Bills GM and HC that he shouldn’t be. If that happens, another QB will likely be drafted and the whole thing starts all over again. Nothing to be depressed about. If he’s not any good, they’ll try someone else.

Hurdling on the field goal attempt.

The key part to me is the last sentence of the paragraph. Seems pretty clear. Your mileage may vary, of course. -
Hurdling on the field goal attempt.

Doesn’t matter, according to the rule posted by the OP. The entire paragraph must be read and applied. -

Read the last sentence and maybe you change your mind. It seems pretty obvious. I don’t care if you do or not, it’s just pretty clearly stated in the OPs post. The sentence you highlight isn’t the key phrase here. If I hear from say, Gene Steratore that the meaning is something other than what I see here, I’d believe that. -
Roster question: Who backs up Matt Barkley vs Titans??
Boatdrinks replied to AmishRifle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is Webb on the PS ? I don’t even know. I’d imagine we’ll see a move made Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest if it appears that Allen won’t go . -
Hurdling on the field goal attempt.

He clearly leaped over the LOS. Penalty should have resulted. Read the rule. He can’t cross the line of scrimmage , he can leap up in place to attempt to block the kick . -
An observation on Josh Allen's three picks
Boatdrinks replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While Zay Jones may not directly be a huge reason for any Bills losses , many fans want to see a WR that can actually be the difference in a win. That’s not Zay. The Bills need better players at the WR position. -
Bill Belichick Defends Jones Hit on Josh Allen!
Boatdrinks replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A McDermott player simply isn’t going to make that cheap shot hit, so no defending would be needed. If that was McDs style, Tom Brady is getting fitted for replacement kneecaps today. -
Hey doesn’t fight for the ball, seems unaware of what’s going on around him ( watched a db make an INT instead of “ playing defender” and knocking the ball away from him. His hands are questionable. He was a second round pick and should be a larger factor out there than what he is. His performance is what you’d expect of a 4th round player.

Why’s Allen not getting peterman like treatment?
Boatdrinks replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen throws INTs when he forces the ball into coverage when he’s frustrated or just overconfident. However, he can physically make just about any throw. That’s a fixable problem. Nathan Peterman is not physically capable of throwing a deep out pattern with enough velocity to avoid being intercepted by NFL caliber DBs. So when he attempts one ( the throw is a key part of NFL offenses) the likelihood of it being picked off is very high. This isn’t about draft status, it’s about correctable flaws. -
Week 5: Bills (+2.5) at Titans
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the D has a letdown game and the offense flounders with Barkley under center. The Promising 3-0 start quickly becomes 3-2 and the Bills face an uphill slog to stay in WC contention . Amazing how fast things can change. If Allen doesn’t get injured yesterday, I’d feel completely different but not right now. -
Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I completely agree on the importance of this game. It will loom larger than the NE game in the Bills WC picture. As for the protocol, since it was implemented I believe the average amount of time a player stays in it is just under two weeks. That would mean Allen likely misses at least the TEN game. In the past , players went back 8nto the same game that they were injured in. Those days are gone. -

Nope. If the hero ball is going on in week 15 I’ll be concerned for next season.
