Week 5: Bills (+2.5) at Titans
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pretty much. They’re only averaging 19 ppg, but are 8th in yardage. Points are the biggest issue, and turnovers a huge factor. -
Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting take. I’m thinking Vrabel blitzes on a high % of plays because Belichick did and the Bills had trouble handling it. Won’t have to focus on taking away escape lanes if Allen doesn’t go. I think the O has their work cut out here. -
Well, he brought up a light hearted joke about what a nonsensical response to the original discussion might be.. I misinterpreted it as serious, and he explained it to me. I’m no Limbaugh fan, ( never was) but it’s a fact about the media, even sports media today. It gets old, and some of us vent about it. Maybe the media doesn’t bother you, that’s fine. Nothing wrong with others pointing out their hypocrisy, obsession and bias, though. Jumping into and twisting a conversation between two posters to fit your narrative ? Not fine. I’m done with this discussion.

Ridiculous interpretation of discussion. Who ever said the reason any player is good is due to the media ? No one, ( and if they did, they’d be an idiot). However, the media today is obsessed with race and assumes that anyone who isn’t a minority is racist. We don’t care about a players race, only if they can play or not. They don’t stop bringing up the subject and it’s beyond tiresome. Bandito : Look at media outlet A. They’re writing about what a group of NFL QBs are doing, but only those of a certain racial background. Boat : That’s ridiculous. The media obsession with race is off the rails. Does everything, even enter -tainment have to come back to this ? C Bisc : Bills fans are such racists. It’s embarrassing.

Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5

This is a good sign. Could still sit Sunday, but long term seems good. -
Mariota very effective vs Blitz, what's the D´s Game Plan?
Boatdrinks replied to Antonio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can’t compare last years offense because it was devoid of talent. The defense had a strong game vs TEN and is probably what was being referenced in the post. -
Pat DiMarco in concussion protocol (update - cleared)
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can’t think of a less vital player on the offense and STs continues to be sub par even with DiMarco. -
Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5

In the second half ( right up until the cheap shot that took him out ) I think Josh Allen looked to me like he absolutely thought he could bring his team back. -
Seems obvious we need to run more but should we?
Boatdrinks replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills are currently 4th in the NFL in rushing yards per game, and stand 8th in total yardage. After years of being behind the times offensively, the Bills look to have something resembling a modern NFL offense. They need to stop turning the ball over and start scoring more points. But run the ball more ? Man, this fan base is mercurial. -

Boatdrinks replied to Antonio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills aren’t a big blitzing team. Probably won’t be huge factor in the game plan. -
Got it. At the time , I thought Limbaugh was full of it. Today? He’d probably be right. The media nonsense has really gone off the rails the few years and it’s out of control now.

BH13's Q1 QB Efficiency Ratings
Boatdrinks replied to BuffaloHokie13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not making it complicated , mmmmmmkay? I obviously don’t think JA isn’t a smart guy. I also don’t share your crusade about his instincts or football IQ or whatever buzzword you want to use. If he wants to keep his job, he’ll stop the attempted heroics and realize they aren’t part of a winning style. If he doesn’t, he’ll be gone. I don’t have a burning need to be “ right “ about a player, unlike yourself. I’ll root for him , and if he fails I’ll root for the next guy. Using buzzwords and jargon in an effort to seem superior is lame -O -
How is Josh Allen being coached?
Boatdrinks replied to Stallions's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Much ado about nothing. Pretty tame as far as sideline blowups go. Barely worth mentioning. If Allen can’t handle that, he can’t handle being an NFL QB. -
The Athletic: Brett Favre’s Advice to Josh Allen
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This^^^ Probably sees some of his younger self in Allen. Time gives a lot of perspective. A 23 year old Favre would never have said that. Nothing disturbing about it, not one bit. -
BH13's Q1 QB Efficiency Ratings
Boatdrinks replied to BuffaloHokie13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Meaningless buzzword. This is simply realizing that if you continue giving the ball away by chucking it up for grabs , you lose your extremely high paying job playing a game. Call it “ football IQ” or whatever you want, but it’s a simple equation that only an idiot wouldn’t understand. Football IQ is code for “ dumb as a box of rocks, but has great athletic skills running around a field with a ball”. It reminds me of ex Bills D line coach Chuck Dickerson on his WGR radio show years ago. A caller stated that a certain Bills player was just too dumb to play. Dickerson interjected “ No, No, that’s not it! You cannot be too dumb to play football! It doesn’t exist! “. He was absolutely correct. -
BH13's Q1 QB Efficiency Ratings

What’s condescending about it ? The poster stated an absolute , they “ don’t see it changing “ . Since they can see the future so clearly, I want to know who the future Bills QB is. Curiously, they haven’t responded . You don’t know even what my opinion, is so Ill tell you. My opinion is that nobody knows, obviously including myself. I only know that JA doesn’t appear to be a moron, and probably will understand that lots of turnovers will lead to him being replaced. Also that players can improve especially in areas that are not caused by physical limitations. I don’t claim to be able to “ see” what will happen in the future, so don’t post in absolutes about what lies ahead. If he doesn’t improve , we do know that he will eventually be replaced because that’s how the NFL works. Lastly, when I see a post from someone with a negative “ handle”and a very low post count making extremely negative absolute statements I recognize them as a “ troll”. You may not have spent enough time on this board to spot them, judging from your own post count. -
I don’t think anyone would argue that New England’s defense is very good. On the flip side, Allen could have played much better than he did, and most of his mistakes were of the unforced variety. While that in itself is to me, encouraging it’s something that only he can decide to change. As a Bills fan, I hope he does.

A sampling of other QB’s early career stats
Boatdrinks replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or you know, actually discuss things that are happening or have a chance of happening in the very near term. Crusades get tiring fast, and teams don’t make long term decisions that quickly. It’s 2019 and there’s lots of football left to be played. Draft/ offseason stuff will be here soon enough. -
Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’d say yes, they would bring him up. Someone could go back to PS or the last guy on the roster gets waived, possibly to return later. -
Josh's foot work in the first qtr - Woof
Boatdrinks replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well football is a way of life ; I’ve worshipped at the NFL altar since the 80’s and it’s like a religion in some ways.I love the game , and does get the emotions going in all directions. The hype is all part of it and always has been. It has gotten harder to find perspective, and to me that’s not due to the advertising but because of the style of media coverage and the internet. In the 80’s and 90’s I enjoyed the media discussions and opinions. Today, everyone has their “ hot takes” and declarations. There is no nuance, just absolutes. It’s annoying as I want to enjoy the shows and coverage , but it generally just makes me angry and Ill turn it off. If you have football in your blood as a way of life , as part of American culture you just do and it hasn’t changed. Everything around it has. -
Week 5: Bills (+2.5) at Titans
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Solid improvement from where the passing offense was last year. Lots of room to get better. Not sure where they stand in offensive points per game but I’d guess it’s not too good. Not shown in Sals tweet. -
Will offense operate better with Barkley next week?
Boatdrinks replied to GG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well then it’s on Barkley to maintain possession there. You can make a play on 4th and long or get a flag, even if the chances are low. Have to extend the game so the turnover is mostly on him. -
Will offense operate better with Barkley next week?
Boatdrinks replied to GG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could he have taken the sack or was it fourth down, I don’t recall. If it’s fourth down I’ll give him a pass as he had to try to do something. Can’t throw it away or take sack on 4th down, though I seem to remember a QB doing that before. -
Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, he didn’t but there were major OL issues . I don’t think Vrabel will be concerned about Barkley destroying him in the air when he’s rushed. I fully expect him to show a lot of the same things that were effective vs the Bills offense. I like Singletary, but I’m not ready to call him a difference maker just yet. -
Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5

I think he’s that guy, but not so sure this is the game he can win. Especially with all that Pats film fresh in the TEN coaches mind.
