I think it will be a long football season
Boatdrinks replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the football season will be a long one....17 weeks long to be exact. -
hoping we go 4 and 0 in the preseason
Boatdrinks replied to Howard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t think preseason records matter much, and don’t care what the media thinks, but it’s always better to win. -
What is weak link after game 2 of preseason?

Center ( Morse injury) pass rush punter ( not good) kicking game ( holder issues?) -
10 observations Bills v. Panthers
Boatdrinks replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe this is an issue. The kicks have seemed off since they first switched holders last season. That was before the injury. They still don’t have a decent punter, and the chemistry seems off on the holds. I’d start getting Barkley some work as a holder and get this thing rectified. Then find a better punter as well. I know some want to attribute it to the injury, but things were off before that. -
You have a good day as well. You still didn’t explain what you think the bad PR for the NFL was or why Pegulas comment made any sense at all. If no one cared what anyone thought of anything, you can safely assume none of us would spend any time on this board !

Which half is that ? If you for example, support CKs disrespectful “ protest” and think it’s cool, just where is the bad PR ? It’s a good thing to be supported and celebrated, so it’s all good. Pegulas logic was something along the lines of “ there’s bad PR out there, we need more kneeling “. I’m not sure what point you are trying to make here.

The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency
Boatdrinks replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Depends on your definition of “ good enough”. If the desired result is no one is murdered with a gun, that will not happen regardless of any law. The Constitution must be followed, and that is a limitation on what laws can be enacted. In my opinion , they work well enough while not infringing on the rights of the law abiding citizens. I’m not a gun advocate, but I don’t think stricter laws would do much besides make some politicians stick their chests out. Real world impact would be negligible. -
Not sure what you think, but the bad PR came from people upset over Kaeps “ protest”, not people who thought it was somehow a good thing. That would be considered “ good “ PR, not bad.

Again, NFL fans don’t care about “ social justice “ when it comes to football. There was never a connection before CK. I don’t think anyone except some players felt there was a lack of attention in this area by the NFL. The NFL has been involved with all kinds of charities forever , and very much in the public eye. So who exactly does T Pegs think wants to hear about such political drivel ? He talks of bad PR, then calls for more fuel on the fire. He shouldn’t confuse the gripes of NFL labor with public sentiment.

They have. Pegulas focus on “ social justice” shows his lack of understanding on just what the bad PR is.

Le"Veon Bells 1st carry.........
Boatdrinks replied to Tatonka68's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn’t be surprised if Bell is injured early on in 2019. The Jets O line sure isn’t as good as the Steelers. That could be problematic for Bell. -
Any PR problem was nonexistent until created by Kaep. Heck, even the occasional bit of bad PR from domestic assault cases here and there was generally short lived. Pegulas silly statement shows that he believes the narrative.

The Bills aren’t returning a cohesive and proven offensive line, don’t have any elite WR’s and have new players all over the place on offense. That doesn’t inspire much confidence in the national media for consistent performances. The largest factor though, as per usual is the lack of a proven QB. While the Bills defense is acknowledged as strong, the weaknesses on offense outweigh that strength.

There was no welfare state or expectation of handouts at the time those immigrants came here. The country is much different now, and its needs are different too. Nothing wrong with being selective, as foreigners don’t have a right to become an American citizen or to live/ work here. There’s nothing racist about this law as we are all one race, right ? To call it racist is to imply that some races can’t be educated or become successful.

I like Pegula a lot less after reading this..a lot less!

I’ll concur. “ social justice” only sounds nice to the very naive or those brainwashed by CNN. It’s one of the most negative and divisive terms currently in vogue. A huge part of the whole “ caucasians are bad, we must pay for our whiteness” mentality out there. This partnership is bunk.

I get that, just pointing out the spin that CNN put on it. -

Of course they are, but the outrage was over “ targeting “ the illegals instead of the employers. -

Yep, and they’re already lashing out. CNN choads were all over it today, talking about the raid in MIS. Most hilarious argument was that those who owned the companies weren’t being punished. So it’s cool to break the law and be here illegally , possibly even collecting “ free” gub’mint money. But go after those evil folks who are providing illegal immigrants a job. -
Dak Prescott seeking new extension worth $40M per year.
Boatdrinks replied to BillsFan4's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’s the way the league has been going for awhile. If you are a good ( not great ) starting QB and you’re nearing free agency, you are going to get paid. It will be the largest deal to date or close to it. Not sure where the end is, if it’s even in sight yet. -
Mitch Morse in concussion protocol
Boatdrinks replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watkins statements on his own immaturity while here have been twisted and overblown. Besides, plenty of Diva WRs have been retained by their teams over the years. The strategy described for retaining SW could have been employed , and wouldn’t have been considered unusual at the time. No one knows how it may have turned out, and he was easily the Bills biggest receiving threat when here. -
Mitch Morse in concussion protocol
Boatdrinks replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not true, again because of the protocol. It could be really bad or mostly precautionary. Even if Morse wasn’t visible at camp there would be scant details and we’d likely not know anything more than we do now. It’s just handled differently than any other injury a player could sustain on the field.
