If the kid can stay healthy he’s got a shot. People were clamoring for a speed WR before and during the draft. But we have Hamler and Isabella with speed. Is there really any evidence a guy picked in day 3 offers more? I suspect the WR room will look different opening day. Beane may pick up a vet FA after June 1, and once cuts are made may see a guy they like then.

I like Sims when he’s on with Mad Dog. Seuss on I can take or leave. Ryan seems like he’ll be good, but will JJJ Watt be there each week? Watt, Ryan and Burleson along with Coach is a solid group. And I think the talent of JB (Menafee as well) is very underrated. To balance out conversations and move things along in a studio like that is not easy.

We’ve witnessed the usual stuff post-draft. The second guessing of everything Beane did vs. those praising him to the heavens. Constant arguments about 40 times and gauntlet drills and on and on and on ad nauseum. How we needed to draft a speed guy even though there are several on the roster. On and on and on. But the most important thing that will determine the success of guys like Coleman, what will determine the team’s success, is Joe Brady. He is charged with putting the guys he has in a position to get open, whether that be short throws or long. People are talking about how teams will clog the middle because we don’t have sideline receivers or guys that can go deep. While I would argue that, it’s on Brady to make sure we do by the packages and route trees he designs. He is also charged with getting Josh on board with finding open guys and getting them the ball. To me we have plenty of offensive talent, led by the most dynamic QB and dynamic player in the league. I am encouraged by what I saw from Brady last year, but he must continue to improve. He must continue to alter things week by week so opposing defenses can’t predict what’s going on, which is what ultimately cost Dorsey his job. He must maximize Josh. I think he can, but time will tell. Let’s hope he’s up to the task.

Josh's arm strength is shown where he fits the ball into tight windows, where he hits a guy on an out route that is well covered, and such. Throwing a 60 yard bomb is not the be all and end all of arm strength.

No. You said a threat to go downfield. Any of these guys can run downfield, if in fact that is how Brady sets up the offense. We all get your schtick by now. If they had stayed put and drafted the guy KC took you’d have spent the last two days talking about how we should have gotten a bigger guy that could win contested throws.

Enough already. Samuel is fast. Hamler is fast. Isabella is fast. And on average, as has been posted in the last day or two, there was about 1 throw 40 yards or more per game on average in the league last year. I know now it’s going to be that those guys aren’t good enough, but then you’d be assuming drafting some guy on say 3 would be. And we know what they say about those who assume.

People keep talking about molding the offense around Josh and throwing long. But it’s not like he’s the only QB with an arm. Mahomes has an arm. Brady had one. Peyton. They won Super Bowls as I recall by taking what the defense gave, and taking deep shots when available. I think Josh can do that too.

Get in to your thick heads people, he's not fast. He will not be running go routes or taking the tops off of defenses. So we will be faced with the same issue as last year, whereDefenses collapse on the short stuff. But he could/shouldexcel underneath. He might end up more like Anquan Bolden - thriving underneath and breaking tackles to get 1st downs. A quote from your post which I was responding to. So now the other guys are excused from running fast and catching balls? Wonder what they’ll say to their coaches when the bullets start flying. You’re being a bit ridiculous at this point.

The idea that guys would dog it when every team is watching is silly. The idea that one 40 time means much is silly. We will see how they use him and how he performs soon. Get that through your thick head.

And there are guys that train with track coaches for the 40 which simulates nothing about actual football plays.

When you throw a pass like that maybe 1-2 times a game does that need to be his strength?

When he came out everyone said the knock on him was that he wasn’t accurate, that he could never learn to be accurate, that you can’t teach accuracy, and so on. Anyone watching him knows that’s wrong. He puts it right on guys, and does so with speed, on intermediate routs, our routes, and such.
