Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
oldmanfan replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh for God sakes. Just stop with this. You do not define an entire offense by one play in a season. The Bills offense scored the most points in the league last year, and a great defensive call by Spagnolo kept us from going to the dance. By any objective measure the Bills had a great offense last year. I see no reason why it won’t be among the best in the league again this season. -

If you do the math I think the difference over 40 yards between a guy that runs a 4.2 vs a 4.4 40 is a little more than a yard. -

Again if Beane decides to trade a bunch of guys to get say a Jefferson, fine. But when are folks going to objectively look back at last season and realize that we had a great offense without a star WR? That Brady’s offense uses the running game effectively as well as spreading the passing game around to all the WRs, TEs, and RBs? When is that going to happen? And please don’t come back with the idea that we’d be lost if we didn’t have Josh, because the fact is we DO have Josh. Just like the Chiefs have Mahomes without a stud WR. -
You keep insisting on something that is simply not the case. You are making the assumption he is uncomfortable, while I can tell you from personal experience from watching my daughter and a number of her friends and colleagues that is not how that industry works. You have specific coaching and direction for intimacy scenes, it is more clinical than anything , and at the end of the day you go back to your private life. This is what actors do, and their significant others understand that. You misunderstood. It was not tough to watch because I know she was doing her job and acting.

Bills 4th Round Pick : Deone Walker - DT - Kentucky

Get him some professional level coaching and training/medical oversight and let’s see if we can unleash the Kraken! -

We’ve had some really good writers covering the Bills over the years. Gauguin was one of them. To me Felser will always be the best followed closely by Carrucci, but very much enjoyed Gaughin’s work. -
Dumbest trade the Bills ever made.

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!

I love having great debates with my fellow fans here. I do not agree with being exclusively negative just to be negative, and changing topics from that of the original thread to do so. Hence my reaction herein. This thread is about WRs. We lost Cooper and Hollins. We gained Palmer and Moore. I don’t see that as a step back, although I would have loved to have seen Hollis stay. I believe Brady’s offense truly is set up for the Everyman eat’s philosophy, hence the outstanding performance on offense last year. I do think Coleman was having a decent rookie year before his wrist, and he did not do well on his return. He has been challenged by management and I see him improving. I am not one to assume a player cannot improve with more experience in the league. while the thread is about WRs, I think you have to also look at all receivers to evaluate the potential for the passing game. I feel similarly about Kincaid as I do Coleman. I don’t slam a guy for performance dropping off because of injuries. He has been challenged to get tougher and I think he will. I also think we tend to discount the role of our RBs in the passing game. So I am not terribly concerned about the receivers as it stands. And if Beane decides to trade a pick or two to get say a Pickens, I don’t see that as him admitting failure; I see it as him doing his job to try to continually improve his roster. -

Really wish we could have kept him. -

The title of the thread is about WRs. That’s what is being talked about. Try sticking to the topic instead of hijacking it with your negativism. -
Bills Offseason moves to date & Projected Roster

As the proud holder of undergraduate and doctoral degrees from UB, I am very proud we have had 3 former University AT Buffalo guys on our roster the past year; always point out they are alumni to all around me when Lewis, Ingram, or Little Joe make a play. But I’m not sure any of them make the roster this year, especially Lewis and Ingram -
If I had a dime for every time a coach said that to me…

I am optimistic. That is pretty much the opposite of miserable. -
A broken wrist (Coleman) and a torn PCL (Kincaid) are legitimate injuries

You come out of the woodwork only to complain. Wallow in misery. -
What is your favorite totally random Bills game?

Two come to mind. The Roland Hooks Hail Mary game and the season opener in 1980 when we finally squished the fish after a decade of futility -

Amazed to read the negative Nellie’s here. Remind me again what team scored the most points last season? And this coming year we’ll have a guy in Palmer who gets the one thing people bee-yatch about: separation. Kincaid had a good rookie year and was banged up all last year, so should expect a rebound. Coleman comes into his second year and needs to improve; God forbid players improve with more experience in the league. People yelled and screamed for someone who can stretch the field and they have Moore, who should benefit from having the league MVP throwing the ball. Samuel also looked good end of the season after getting through injury; his issue is staying healthy. And of course you have the 3 legged monster of RBs that can catch the ball. i’m not terribly worried. -

Just throwing this out there, and before doing so understand that I think the world of Taron Johnson. But he’s getting a bit older and has had some injuries. Any chance one of the young kids beats him out? -

You can’t have All Stars at every position. I think Rapp is pretty good. And let’s see what Bishop does with a year under his belt. Unlike many, I happen to believe players get better with experience -

I agree with much of what you’ve said. Last year at this time, and dealing with the same arguments, I said the most important thing for the offense going into the season was Brady. Brady needed to develop his offense and his everybody eats philosophy. And the results were one of the best offenses in the league, and an MVP for its QB. Going into this year the same questions arise. We have added two WRs in Palmer and Moore, have two guys in Coleman and Samuel coming back from injury, Shakir after a really good year, and the TEs (Kincaid has to come back from injuries) and RBs (I would now prioritize making a deal with Cook). Where I might differ is on the WR#1. Would I want a guy like a Justin Jefferson? Sure! But let’s remember what happened when we had that #1 guy in Diggs with Brady’s offense. Allen was pressured into getting him his touches, and the offense two years ago (once Brady took over) was not as good as last year. And of course the diva stuff on top of it. So if we can get a guy with # 1 talent that would not give us the diva stuff sign me up. Until then, I think we’re still going to be really damn good this coming season.
