  1. Both sides are correct here. Cook has done a good job, wants more $$, and starts the bidding at a high number to give room to negotiate. Beane is right to focus on the draft right now, and to let Cook sit for a while given RB is an easier position to replace if need be. Both sides know he is under contract this upcoming year. Cook knows he’ll have to play to showcase his talent and get the big deal he wants. Beane knows he’ll play too. So there is time to do a deal. I’d say it’s 50/50 that Cook is here in 2026.
  2. It doesn’t matter. Some teams have defenses that are easier to run in so you score running the ball. Some have weaker pass defense so you score with the passing game. Some have a QB prone to turning the ball over so you get a score or two from the defense. Or special teams mismatch.
  3. Must be fully recovered from the concussions. Glad he’s locked down.
  4. When someone asks a question I figure it deserves an answer.
  5. Palmer offers a skill set we didn’t have. Fine by me.
  6. I know I’m the get off my lawn, old man type but I wish they’d just eliminate all of these staged celebrations. Spontaneous is one thing but these elaborate staged ones aren’t necessary. You want to show somebody up just hand the ball to the ref like it’s no big deal to score against your opponent
  7. I read somewhere Cooper may retire. Douglas is likely in no hurry; he can watch and see what teams run into injuries in preseason and sign a deal then.
  8. They need players with some guts. The only untouchable to me are Dahlin and Thompson. Power to me has been a huge disappointment; he plays with no physicality and no passion.
  9. No reason to sweat it now, for Cook or Benford. Both are under contract this coming season. Beane and company should be focused on the draft right now. After that they can deal with those two players if they want. Or they can wait until they see how the beginning of the season goes.
  10. Thanks. So you agree he wasn’t a first round pick. And boy wasn’t Pearsall a big miss!
  11. Love me a big tub of goo!
  12. Then you have absolutely no clue of the psychology of this.
  13. I am presuming you are a guy. Ask yourself this: would you rather have a gang of say 3 guys beat you up and steal your car? Or would you rather have those 3 guys strip you naked and violate your rear entrance repeatedly? Which do you think would have a more lasting psychological effect?
  14. Ask your significant other these questions. If you have one.
  15. Ok. Honest to God, what the hell is wrong with people on this board? All 3 of these guys suffered injuries as rookies, Bishop early in the Coleman’s and Carter later in the season. Is the expectation of our fan base now that injuries should have absolutely no impact on player performance? It’s the same junk about Kincaid. And have we really gotten to the point where a rookie has to walk in and be a stud from the get go, with no expectation of actual improvement from year to year as they learn more about being an NFL player? Is this truly what the expectations should be? Have we not learned anything from guys like Bernard and Brown? Of course those 3 guys have to continue to improve. That should be the expectation of every single guy on the roster. Will we look for improvement? Absolutely. Would criticism be warranted if they don’t? Sure. But come on, give these guys some time to develop before assuming the worst.
  16. Except, of course, that Coleman was a second round pick. Facts are pesky things. But continue with your ranting
  17. Went with the family a few years ago. It was outstanding
  18. It would be great to have a generational talent. No one can argue against that. The question is identifying in a draft class who that player is going to be.
  19. One simple answer: knee. He was playing hurt all year.
  20. Some here are saying that Beane did a poor job because he did not sign an elite level person at a position of need in free agency. A couple things. One, we didn’t have a ton of cap space. Two, this wasn’t a stellar year for those kinds of free agents, and many teams signed their own to keep some very talented players from entering the market.
  21. The best thing was negotiating to keep some of our young talent. I don’t think it was a particularly great FA year. I think Palmer will fit well. The guys we added to the D line should help but the suspensions are a black mark for Beane. Bosa will be the best FA add if he can stall healthy.
