  1. I think they will be OK with Dotson. My gut is : 1. McD will be more aggressive in play calling than Fraser and 2. As mentioned previously they’ll play a lot of 6 DB/1 LB format with Rapp and Milano on the field.
  2. Squib would not have done squat. They down it right away and lose no time. Fraser and McD should have had guys tackle their WRs and Kelce to keep them from the ball
  3. Yes time will tell and what Shaw clearly said, and I believe Beane as well, is that for now he’ll be outside. What happens next year will be seen then. He’s knows exactly what he’s doing. You thinking you know more about how NFL defenses work than McD is pretty funny. Funny bizarre, not funny ha-ha.
  4. Detroit and Minnesota have. But the biggest reason we wouldn’t host is lack of hotel space
  5. Not when you think it’s solely because Dodson started.
  6. I’d certainly open the discussion if I were Beane.
  7. I’m an outdoors on grass guy myself. And Terry pays cost overruns (and I bet the Titans winds up more that what’s being quoted). Some of those costs will dribble down to the fan. But when I come to town all the bars and restaurants seem full. Went to a Bandits playoff and it was packed. Sabres fans are back as the team looks better. The new stadium will sell out regardless of PSLs and such. Bills fans are who they are.
  8. My guess is Dodson is in on early downs but they’ll play 4-1-6 on passing downs with Rapp on the field and Milano as the 1 LB.
  9. 12th man takes care of it. A fellow professor friend grew up in New England and was a huge Pats fan, but hates what Kraft has done. So he’s now for the Bills. When I told him I could get him a Mafia shirt he told me that brings up some horrible memories of the real Mob. Point being it’s probably not the best to put Mafia up on the Wall. That was Nick Miki-Meyer, and I’m sure that’s spelled wrong. Great day, helped carry the goal post to Ralph’s box.
  10. Yes there are. Which is why I posted it. It is a fact the Bills went 4-0 with Dodson starting last year. Because it is a team game. No the answer is how well the team plays. Dodson is one of 11 guys on the defensive side of the ball.
  11. Two words. Multiple variable. Go take Statistics 101
  12. So the MLB is now solely responsible for the performance of the defense? Once again your user name belies your knowledge base.
  13. And what would your answer be? Bring in a guy with no experience in McD’s defense, whether rookie or vet? ? Or stick with a veteran who knows the system as has performed fairly well within it? When are fans going to get it through their heads that there is a salary cap in the NFL and because of that you are not going to have All Pros at every spot on the field? If one were to listen to the hysteria this past off season we should have brought high priced guys in at MLB, WR2, RT. That is not the way the NFL works.
  14. I believe they were 4-0 with Dodson starting last year.
  15. Too bad. Suck it up and deal with it.
  16. Best backup we ever had was Lamonica.
  17. Too many fans think that unless a guy is All Pro caliber he stinks. That is not how the NFL works. The cap does not allow it. So some guys on a team are going to be average players. Beane has tried to improve the O line every year. Some moves didn’t work the way he wanted, so he tries again like he has this past off season. Edmunds signed for a fortune with someone else, and they have 4 candidates to take that spot, one of whom (Dodson) with which they were I believe undefeated when he started last year. We’ll see what happens there. Davis was hurt most of last year, so we’ll see there. And if you look at the best passing game in the league (KC) none of their WR are fantastic. But they do have a possible GOAT in Kelce. So enter Kincaid; let’s see what he does.
  18. My dad’s second job was officiating way back in the 60’s-90’s. He did basketball, football, soccer, and baseball. As an ump he got an offer to go full time with a shot at doing the majors but he didn’t want to be away from the family as much as the job called for. Back then coaches, parents and kids had more respect for officials. But now it’s ridiculous. Parents with no clue about the rules or about the difficulties of officiating just yell obscenities, start fights, and all that kind of crap. I considered following in my dad’s footsteps, but you could see the crap starting in the 80’s/90’s and it gets worse and worse. So I said no thanks.
  19. They have one on the roster. Shell.
  20. Neither Jackson nor Tua worry me in the slightest
  21. Only Bills fans complain about having three corners with ability vying for a job in a passing league. I love that we have 4 corners, including Tre, that can perform.
  22. If Brown can’t go then Shell comes in, a guy with experience in the league. Then you have the UFA from Florida and/or Doyle. Or Edwards can slide in. It’s not like there’s no options. You can’t have a Pro Bowl caliber guy at every position in the modern day NFL.
  23. I expect a lot of 6 DB looks with Milano as the single LB.
  24. Good point. There are a couple people here with playing/coaching expertise whose opinions I value. For the most part though none of us really understand the nuances of pro football. But that’s why fan is short for fanatic.
