  1. Good one I see the point about mentoring. But the idea it seems is for him to start at one of the tackle spots, and I can’t see a guy his age being effective
  2. I don’t think we should have traded him, but I also think Peters could have come in during the off-season to get his injury checked out as the front office asked before renegotiating. Brandon was supposedly the boss then but I’ve always felt Littman was the guy who screwed up the franchise.
  3. We’ll see. The guys we have are big WRs that can work in the red zone. I expect several in practice squads.
  4. A 41 year old tackle is not going to play one complete season, let alone several.
  5. I think these guys are on practice squads somewhere.
  6. There are at least 9 WRs on the roster right now that will be on rosters this year. Some of our 3rd and 4th stringers are going to get snapped up after cuts.
  7. Beane is supposed to be Nostradamus.
  8. McD is using some motivational stuff right now with his statement. Time will tell. Maybe they move Williams over more quickly than they expected. I really think we’re going to be playing a lot of 1LB/6DB. I think Rapp is going to be on the field more than whomever plays MLB.
  9. They are not minimizing or maximizing. They feel they have guys that are capable of giving them what they need there.
  10. If MLB was so critical to the performance of the D and Dodson was as bad as some make him out to be then how did we not lose at least one of them? I say the above to point out the absurdity of the position some have here. Football is of course a team game and one single player outside the QB rarely makes the total difference. But the Chicken Littles here seem to think the MLB does. And of course many are the same who belittled Edmunds for years. It just gets ridiculous after a while. Let’s just watch how it goes.
  11. Take a wrong step in practice and tear an ACL. It’s football.
  12. We have too many folks who think they are either more worthy of being GMs than guys who do the job, or that they are Nostradamus. General statement, not directed specifically at you. The team feels they can do OK with the guys they have available to play MLB. So we’ll see what happens. I think we’re going to see 4-1-6 sets a lot more than 4-2-5. I think they went after Rapp for a reason, and it wasn’t to have him on the bench behind Poyer and Hyde.
  13. Isn’t just a tad of an overreach to say a second year player who didn’t see the field much his rookie year is a bust?
  14. Living in a fantasy world I see. The Bills make decisions, the season will show which were good ones.
  15. You could probably make the same point for a minimum of 25 teams in the league. NFL starting caliber offensive tackles are at a premium.
  16. Explain to me why The Ringer should be considered a credible site for analysis, especially given the oversights and errors cited in the posts above.
  17. We've lost one of the legendary figures in the history of WNY sports. A sad day for all.
  18. How? I put out a post asking folks like you to tell me your plan, what guy you would have gotten, how you would have fit him under the cap, how it would have affected other positions that may have needed upgrades. And your response? crickets. You're just blowing a lot of hot air. But again the Bills won each game when Dodson started last year. So clearly it can be "mitigated".
  19. I was 4 when Dad took my brother and me to the home opener at the Rockpile in 1960. My parents bought 3 season tickets for Rich Stadium for the opening season. Mom and my brother picked me up from work at Sheridan and Egbert at 3:30 for the 7:00 PM first ever game, a preseason game against the Redskins. We got into our seats 5 minutes before kickoff. Just in time to see Herb Mul-Key return the opening kickoff for a TD. Figured out very quickly to never take the Youngman to 90 ever again; went straight down Bailey to Abbott from then on.
  20. They will play a lot of 4-1-6 with Rapp on the field.
  21. Ok, as for the MLB position I offer this challenge: 1. For those saying they made a mistake not keeping Edmunds, show posts from the past several years indicating you felt he was the right guy, and also show how you would have offered him a competitive contract (equal to what the Bears gave him) and how you would have made it fit under the cap. Be sure to show what players you would have gotten rid of. 2. For those now saying they should have made another move to get a veteran MLB, name the veteran and how we would have attracted him (not like the Bucs guy that didn't want to move his family. Explain the contract you would have offered, and again how you would have fit that under the cap, what other players you would have cut etc. 3. Assuming you did one of the two, then show by past posts or whatever that you were OK with them not doing anything at RT as an example, or 2nd WR. Or if you were going to replace not just MLB but RT and 2nd WR explain who would have been the upgrades and how you would have dealt with the cap. Why am I asking this? Because this is what Beane had to face. Easy for fans to sit to the side and complain. I think they will approach MLB with Dodson starting, but a healthy dose of Rapp and a lot of 4-1-6 looks.
  22. Name them. In order. And when you do then also figure out how you would have fit them under the cap.
