  1. 1. Dawkins needs to get his butt in gear but Brown was better than people say 2. Kincaid is the real deal
  2. Dawkins wasn’t good last night. But Brown except for the one play where he held was fine. He did a good job overall with Watt. And Oliver was disruptive from what I saw. People have preconceived opinions and refuse to watch things objectively. The one takeaway I’d have from last night is they may want to give the Dutch kid a serious look at LT if Dawkins is going to play like he did last night.
  3. The day after a loss, even in preseason, it’s hard to know. Let’s hope so.
  4. Yeah not a great night.
  5. Again, I just watched every snap they played focusing on them. Brown was not bad except for the one play he held in. He did fine with Watt. Try watching objectively. Name one
  6. I didn’t watch it last night. I live in Indiana so I had to record the replay on NFL Network. So I focused on Brown and Dawkins since everyone complained about them. And Brown was nowhere near as bad as people were saying. Dawkins though...
  7. Dawkins was bad. I just watched the entire first half; Brown got beat one time and he held on the play. It looks like Brown is going to replace Edmunds as the punching bag.
  8. I am watching the game on replay right now. Brown got beat once thus far on the play where he held. Other than that he’s been fine even against Watt. So as I figured it is confirmation bias. if you are just going off last night if there’s a tackle issue it’s Dawkins, not Brown.
  9. Yeah didn’t bring up the penalties but that’s just ridiculous. Guys need to start getting benched.
  10. The one thing I saw that others did was Dawkins. He got beat 3 times in that first quarter. He needs to step it up, or I can see the Dutch kid or the Gator FA kid getting that spot. Your LT can’t get beat like that. On the other hand Brown has looked OK to me.
  11. More input at 14-0: 1. Special teams poor, but should be better once they have the guys they know they’ll use each week 2. Good double by Benford and Poyer 3. D line playing OK. Klein with a missed tackle I’ll stop here. It’s what I thought I’d see. A couple concerns, Dawkins to me primarily. But all the rest I read last night and this morning is overblown.
  12. 1. Milano, Dodson and Jackson got blocked out on the TD run and Poyer took a bad path. Well blocked by the Steelers 2. Milano got beat on the TD pass after the big punt return. 3. Brown blocked fine the first series. So thus far I’m seeing some different stuff than others Our second series: 1. Dawkins got beat but Josh got it to Davis. Brown OK again 2. Cook dancing too much 3. When Josh gets it out quick we are usually successful 4. Dawkins beat again with power this time 5. That was not a block in the back 6. Brown beat there and held to save Josh. Him and Dawkins need to anchor better.
  13. Yes he's heavy. Like most every other tackle in football. Again is that overeating or perhaps still a Covid effect? My $ if I had to pick would be on the latter.
  14. I really don't think Dawkins is as bad as others say, and I don't think Jawaan Taylor just as an example is some kind of great pickup. They got a veteran in Shell who has played solid minutes in the league, but he decided to retire. You can't blame Beane for that. I would like to see the Dutch kid and the FA from Florida get a lot of minutes in the last preseason game. And I suspect we may see the waiver wires get scrutinized for some help there. Here's what goes on around here: if they had spent a ton of money on the O line (my preference, and it looks like yours), then they get crucified for not using it to keep Edmunds, or to get a second WR (even though Davis apparently looked great yesterday). And so on. You have so much $$ to spend, and you prioritize where to spend it. I would do so up front, so I am disappointed we didn't get better competition at tackle. But it appears we have significantly upgraded both guard spots, which is a big help over last year.
  15. Proove he's overeating. On the other hand, it can affect stamina which can affect workouts and such.
  16. This is where things get silly. Bernard hasn't played a down yet in preseason due to his hammy, but he's a failure. Ridiculous.
  17. I have wondered for a while if he may have some long Covid stuff going on.
  18. I was thinking the same thing. The bottom line is you have to get your best 5 linemen on the field. If that means Edwards or even Bates at tackle, then that's what you do.
  19. Dawkins and Brown need to play. They need the work.
  20. Point by point: 1. I am a believer that you win up front. The Bills have not been in a position to draft a top end tackle because of the success they've had - most of those guys go in the top of the first round. Brown had a tough outing yesterday from what I'm reading (haven't watched the game yet). But you can't blame a GM for not being Nostradamus when you go out and get a veteran who's started in the league as competition, and he decides to retire. So it was not a joke. I think we're either going to see another T brought in this week, or we may see the Dutch kid get the start. 2. I am wondering if Dawkins may be suffering from long Covid effects myself. If so, the medical staff needed to alert Beane. But I think Dawkins will be OK. we should prioritize drafting a T next year though. 3. If Poyer leaves in free agency who do you have to replace him? No one knew if Hamlin could or would play again. And we hadn't even sniffed at Rapp yet. Poyer will also be fine. He may have lost a step, but veterans make up for that with their understanding of where plays are going. So I am not panicking over one run in a pre-season game. 4. Without Oliver you would have had 1 DT under contract next year. One. Oliver will also be fine, everyone was expecting the second coming of Donald. 5. Elam needs to learn zone concepts more and quit grabbing as much. It is the beginning of his second season in the league and he's still got things to learn. We have 4 corners that can play in the NFL which is more than many teams can say.
  21. They are going to play more 4-1-6 looks with Rapp on the field with Poyer and Hyde would be my guess. I don’t think they got Rapp just to sit as a backup. Haven’t watched the game yet but sounds like Dodson wasn’t the only guy on defense that didn’t have a great game.
  22. I could see that.
  23. Good one I see the point about mentoring. But the idea it seems is for him to start at one of the tackle spots, and I can’t see a guy his age being effective
  24. I don’t think we should have traded him, but I also think Peters could have come in during the off-season to get his injury checked out as the front office asked before renegotiating. Brandon was supposedly the boss then but I’ve always felt Littman was the guy who screwed up the franchise.
  25. We’ll see. The guys we have are big WRs that can work in the red zone. I expect several in practice squads.
