The game plan for the offensive line
Buffalo716 replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The difference is that the Steelers are extremely well coached.. and their interior defensive line doesn't break their gap Cameron Hayward stayed home all day and it just ruined Josh You can get interior pressure on Josh and play erratic and he will break contain... Staying in your Gap is the key to containing him The line was shifted to Jonathan Allen Which left Ford one-on-one with Payne.. and he fought hard all day -
Was a brilliant plan, executed to perfection Chase young was perfectly fine with rushing around the edge all day... Going around the hump so to speak Williams and Allen were perfectly in sync.. setting up the depth of drops... Which allowed Allen to step up through the wide speed rush.. and roll right which is where he's at his best This was all by design and perfectly executed The perfect way to neutralize a pass rusher.. is to take him out of the game instantly... Play to Allens strength which is his stature in the pocket and ability to move through it Williams was giving the wide speed rush.. knowing Allen has the presence and stature to feel it now.. which he did And it completely demoralized and took young out of the game.. because he knew he couldn't touch Allen But having young scouted.. knowing that he will take the cheese.. all day.. is a testament to the offensive line coach and how prepared they were

That's why I said historically, and it's not set in stone Saban would much rather have a five-star offensive lineman or defensive lineman than a five-star quarterback historically
-
Dabo actively does try to recruit QBs with NFL futures .. he was all over Watson and Lawrence who were top recruits and NFL prospects He doesn't want just runners Historically Ohio State goes for runners, and Saban never cared if his quarterback had a bright NFL future... It was scheme scheme scheme Saban didn't used to recruit 5* QBs... Now he does because he realized he can't win with another Jake Coker or McElroy

Ruined can just mean subject to frustration There's absolutely a lot of frustrated people People try to turn this into a vax versus unvaxed argument.. it's not my argument There are a lot of bills fans, who no longer get to see their passion... It is the biggest thing in Buffalo by far Families grow up around it.. I do feel for those people Getting your money back for season tickets is not the same as seeing your favorite thing.. I feel for that Because the bills are a huge part of the community.. vaccination status withstanding And If you've been going to games for 40 years.. it's a big part of your life
-
I'm gonna have to watch more snaps to get an accurate assessment He definitely can improve his stock this season but I think top 10 is out of question
-
Yeah but there was unvaccinated people at the game yesterday They just used their cousin or brother's card .. I know it happened And If you were a season ticket holder for 25 years , and you can't go to the games because you're unvaccinated.. pretty sure your football year is ruined.. if you didn't decide to break the rules If the goal was to make everybody be vaccinated they should probably check it's the right people Or the mandate is weak
-
A lot of people's seasons got ruined a couple weeks ago because of poorly executed planning I just can't say that everything went fine and everybody followed everything to a tee Even yesterday, because everybody knows that's not the case They wanted vaccinated people in the stadium.. and then didn't even check to see if it was the right people
-
Absolutely Quarterbacking is an independent thing Most schools like Alabama or Ohio State just don't choose quarterbacks with big time NFL futures, cuz it's abut winning in college It doesn't mean that those type of quarterbacks can't land at that program

I don't think he's going in the top 10 or 15 of the draft like Pitts or TJ

Picking up Edmunds Option a Rare Beane Mistake
Buffalo716 replied to Billy Zabka's topic in The Stadium Wall
According to next Gen statistics In 2019, is average tackle depth past the line of scrimmage on run plays was 1.9 yards and 2.6 yards in 2020 Ahead of guys like Patrick Queen and roquan Smith So while he definitely isn't making flash plays.. and he's out of position in zone sometimes.. he's been fairly consistent in the run game Not that It quantifies a 15 million contract -

But everyone says we need a dome and he sucks in wind/weather lol He IS WHY we stay open air -
He's been doing that since college including all last year

Officially starting to get worried about the running game tho Kevin Marks has not been able to get going at all... Push in the run game against a group of 5 school was not good
-
So many things to say but at the end of the day it's a w Remember for years when people would complain about leipolds team not playing the entire 60 minutes and blowing games? Players play.. when they think it's in the bag this happens

8 to 10 games a year really does have little economic impact All those restaurants are operating 365 a year.. there's tons of thriving restaurants downtown , 8 days a year of business isn't really going to change things Hotels around the city are filled up And buffalo is a smart drinking City... Sure you get younger adults who will party downtown and hit strip... But dive bars are King in the city most people won't be hitting the bar scene downtown and paying $15 a drink before the Bills game... They would much rather buy 12 pack for that price and just pre-game with Friends... Which is why I don't think it's going to have a huge impact on the bar/restaurant scene If they Put it downtown it's because it's the best place for a football

In the past 10-15 years there's been a resurgence of development Downtrodden cities like Buffalo don't turn around overnight... It's literally a 30 40 year plan And there's already a lot of parts of downtown that have seen economic revivals... Mom and pop shops, boutiques Hipsters are moving back into the city cuz it's trendy now
-
Still a resident of Buffalo I don't think anybody saying they don't want the city to be bustling.. it's already a beautiful city The only thing is there's been a lot of studies shown that downtown stadiums do nothing for a cities economy... So statistically building a stadium downtown is going to do nothing for the economy Football stadiums are never money makers for the economy So it's one thing to want buffalo to be beautiful and bustling.. but a stadium downtown is not going to make that happen . It's not what changes cities

What a wild start!

Should be a good game vs old Dominion Horns up 🤘

I've read a lot of studies on new stadiums being built and economic impacts Studies basically all show the economic impact is negligible.. wherever the stadium is So a stadium downtown is doing nothing for the economy of Buffalo.. you build the stadium to keep the bills Not because it has an economic impact And a stadium downtown will do absolutely nothing for the east side of Buffalo.. nobody does anything for the east side of Buffalo
