RD 1, Pick 30: Greg Rousseau, Edge (Miami) Public Poll Added
foreboding replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great pick. Seems the kid is also very smart, driven and loved by his former coaches and teammates. -
We are in the window and came damn close. Did we lose because of defense or an inability to score enough? When in the window you ought not be overly patient. Get it done! So, who then gets us there, this year? One player on defense will not give us the BUCS level of play, not happening this year. Isn't it Etienne? I feel like we need something back there and our guys never seem able to run through an arm tackle.

McShay- Bills trying to move up above 23 for Etienne

Why? So he can speak in platitudes and weak coach speak like you do? This is all opinion so stop acting the draft whisperer. Remember, your just some guy behind a keyboard. -

lol. no doubt! Is your profile pic the late, great Mr. Zappa? -
Josh was the QB I wanted that night for three primary reasons. 1. At the various NFL talent functions, it was obvious that this kid was wayyyyy above average in his physical skillset. Also, after our array of QBs I wanted a BIG, (yes, with the coveted large hands), cannon-armed QB to play in Buffalo weather. 2. Watched some interviews and immediately liked him and thought, "Buffalo Guy" 3. Dislike Mayfield, Lamar (pre-draft) was acting as his own agent and his Mom was involved, seemed odd and made me a bit wary, also thought he was more of a runner coming out. Glad we got our guy. You can win and be good very year with a 4k passer who is good for 40+ total TDs. Bills defense does not have to be near to elite, just good and opportunistic.

I completely understand this sentiment. But... IF OBD thinks we need a game-breaking talent, and IF we are talking about a rare RB who can do it all, then have some trust. Imagine if we had a Tyrek Hill type player on this offense? -
SI: The Unrivaled Arrival of Trevor Lawrence

Meh, no thanks. Give me someone with strong competitive fire any day of the week. -
Funny you posted this, I saw it yesterday, almost turned it off because I wasn't sure it was Kurt at first. He sounded quiet and low. But, it is for sure and I loved his analysis. He points out how good Josh is at seeing the blitz and then throwing to an area of the field once he sees the coverage allows it. Kurt was definitely impressed.

Trade out of 30 for 2022 1st?
foreboding replied to OldTimer1960's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only if the trade is with Detroit or NYJ. -
You have to be kidding or stupidest post I have seen in a long while.

The brass always talk about competition at all levels. I think it is clear that Mitch is at least marginally better than Barkley and if God forbid we lose Josh for a few games, I think Mitch has a far better chance of running a Josh Allen offense as opposed to Barkley. Good guy, but weak arm and no legs and not that imposing.

He got a gig as a starter.

I assume this is sarcasm or humor? Yeah?

Spots are almost all filled! Crazy, Beane is wide open in the draft. We might see a RB if they love one of them...

You have to remember, two TEs in the game at the same time, also gives you a massive offense live extension and it favors running the ball as well. When the TEs do both (block and catch) well, it creates bad matchups. Easy to see what they plan to do. Agholor will the long route guy to try over the top and keep the defense honest.

For sure it is a losable game for us now. It would be ignorant to think otherwise. Bill Belichick didn't just up and forget how to coach. That they beat some good teams last year, and with that putrid team, it is admirable. As far as this spending spree the Pats are on? I don't recall ever seeing a team spend so much money all at once, it's insane and I am afraid it will probably work. The Pats WILL get the most of their talent, and all of sudden they got a shittle-ton of it. Cam is the weak link and I understand the skepticism, it is warranted. He seems to need momentum to be good, and is a bit of a head case, imo. But, I do think Daniels can devise an effective offense with Cam's legs with mostly easy throws to big guys...and 80 million in (new) proven talent. That said, we got us a sonafabitchin' offense and I still like our chances, but for damn sure it got harder.

I think anyone who dislikes this is nuts. A young, super expensive FA WR is NOT our biggest need right now. But ESanders!?! Here is what I like about the signing: 1. Really, really smart and crafty player, willing to go off schedule with the QB. 2. Can play slot or run deep routes, has the size and thump to beat man coverage 3. No need to bring him up to speed, I guarantee he comes into camp, ready to go. Ready to add to a (now) veteran team ready to win (now). 3. Diggs, Beasley and Sanders are 3 of the slickest route runners in the league. Add in Gabe Davis, who also has these attributes and its gonna be damn near impossible to cover that group. 4. Good price, one year. Perfect. Can you image if we had an RB who could break a tackle or two on his way through the line?

This makes so much sense. What Beane is doing makes sense. You cannot possible hit on all your FA and draft picks. But WHEN you get them right, keep them HERE. This small but improbable step is what grows a deep, quality team. Beane and McDermott get it. -
Agreed, I do not blame him, but it isn't a great look and his new team is going to be hamstrung for future capital.

Watson has a legit gripe. I mean, look at what they did to that team. BUT, this was a previous regime and I think you have to give the new guys a chance. Stafford, totally different deal. He suffered with that ***** org for a decade plus.
