  1. Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz
  2. Is it just me or is anyone else cautiously optimistic that the blonde two rows back will whip 'em out tonight? Everything's bigger in Texas, right?

  5. Mickey was a bad in-game manager, unimpressive with the press and wasn't hired by the current GM. I'm glad he's gone, if whoever we bring in isn't an upgrade it will be a long two years.
  6. Well first of all, I'd like to say eff off (eff off, eff off, eff off!) 9. And I'm wasted and I can't find my way home.
  10. On my way home today I was listening to Francesa interview Girardi. A good two minute excerpt from the interview on his managerial interviews: https://wfan.radio.com/articles/joe-girardi-wfan-there-will-be-clarity-manager-search Most of Girardi's comments were generic. The only thing he said that caught my attention was around the minute mark where he mentioned the relationship, comfortability factor and everyone working together. Sounded like something Brodie would want to hear. Later the same evening I see the article below which is clearly based off the Francesa interview, includes a lot of the generic quotes (but not the ones I cared about) and this statement: The biggest factor for general manager Brodie Van Wagenen might be deciding whether Girardi has the “collaboration” skills to work with the Mets front office. https://nypost.com/2019/10/22/joe-girardis-sense-could-mean-mets-decision-is-coming-soon/ I think Girardi wants the job. If you're a Girardi fan, bad news - I'm usually wrong when I speculate.
  11. Missed that, thanks. If I was capable, i'd do a side by side of Gase/taco and a super imposed Darnold head/ghost.
  12. I've been waiting for the Gase/taco Sam/ghosts meme all day. It's gotta be out there.
  13. With regard to restrictions, I read the following today in the NY Post. Would be interested if anyone can confirm or refute: The way that it works when a player is mic’d up is that NFL Films has a representative listening in on site. That representative then gives the go-ahead to air a comment or to keep it off air. ESPN sometimes airs the comment without anyone from their network listening, trusting that the NFL Films representative has approved it. The team is giving special access to their players and expects NFL Films to serve as a buffer to make sure nothing embarrassing or anything that would put a player in a bad light is aired. In this case, the Jets feel NFL Films did not do that. The “seeing ghosts” comment is going to stick to Darnold for a while. https://nypost.com/2019/10/22/jets-furious-espn-aired-sam-darnolds-seeing-ghosts-comment/ With regard to Gase adding fuel to the fire - I look for any reason to bash the Jets and Gase, but I have no problem with him airing his displeasure if what's outlined above is correct.
  14. It's funny what we're willing to do in the moment to teach a lesson. I've done similar myself and then questioned whether I would have been happy with a crumpled rear bumper and the aftermath.
  15. Just going for a cheap laugh with the cut off thread reference. Not being judgmental, I do the passive-aggressive no-pass zone to tailgaters when it's 'deserved'. I also try to make way for people that want to drive much faster than I want to when there's two lanes and traffic is light.
  16. Didn't you start a thread in the last week complaining about getting cut off? I'm starting to wonder whether there was more to that story. For the record, I've been known to be a douche to 'unreasonable' tailgaters too. I've also been known to tailgate 'unreasonably' slow drivers. With 'unreasonable' being determined at my sole discretion. My justification is the other guy is wrong. Amirite? Probably sometimes yes, sometimes no - but always yes in the moment.
  17. Tomorrow You're gonna have to live with the things you say Tomorrow You'll have to cross bridges that you burned today
  18. Seems like a fair complaint. I'm sure a lot of scheiss gets said on the sideline that never makes it to the public . From what I read the NFL is supposed to approve what gets aired. Not sure if that's true or what happened. But if it's gonna happen to anyone, why not the Jets?
  19. Was the passengers name Ted Striker?
