  1. 2 years/$13 mil, eh? They sure like setting money on fire at OBD. At least it wasn't a 5 year, 60 mil deal. Nobody knows how he will do here. My guess is not much better than the last bunch of garbage to find jobs here. He hasn't made it through a full season. Seems like a cheaper, slightly worse, more injury prone version of Fitz. I don't even want a QB in this draft. I can make an educated guess that they will have a top 5 pick in 2014. That's where the franchise type QB's will be located. Throw him out there until he breaks something and then let TJack have the rest of the starts. Solid plan.
  2. 2+ years? Guaranteed money? Not take a QB in the first? Whaaaaat? That is crazy talk. Kolb hasn't played a full season. He is not the answer to anything except more of the same. It better be a veteran minimum no year contract and they better draft a QB in the first couple rounds. He is not a savior. He isn't much of anything. If the Bills think so, they will just be setting themselves back a few more years.
  3. Common sense? Reality? History? Who says he can be the guy? Kolb = Fitz Lite. The parade of mediocrity will never end.
  4. Here is an updated depth chart. 59 players under contract. 6 draft picks to add. 65 players. They will have to find 25 additional players just to have the training camp max. Going to play some sort of hybrid 3-4/4-3 Defense. OK. 3 DE's, 6 DT's and 8 LB's on the depth chart. Guess some LB's will line up at DE and DE will play LB. One LG and 5 RT's. It's a big, giant mess at this point. They will have new starters (not any better, just new) at QB, WR and LG. To use college terminology, they will basically be returning 18 starters from a 6-10 team while trying to replace the QB position, the #2 WR spot and LG. McKelvin couldn't get on the field at CB last year but all of a sudden he is a starter? Please. I see next to no "rebuilding". I see no depth. What happens when a few starters get injured? Happens every year. Sign some budget friendly players = not very good. Even if they hit on all 6 draft picks this year and all 7 next year, they just aren't going to be any good for two to three more years minimum and that all depends on the next QB. . RB-Spiller, Jackson, Z. Brown FB-Dickerson WR-Johnson, B. Smith, Elliott WR-Graham, Easley, Hogan TE-Chandler, L. Smith, Caussin LT-Glenn, Welch, Sanders, Grant LG-C. 5. That "prime waterfront property" has sat undeveloped for 50 years. There has been over $1.3 billion in development downtown in the last few years. There is over $600 million more on the way. They are reopening Main Street to traffic. People are actually moving into downtown. The Sabres are building their hotel/ice complex across from the hockey arena. Coca-Cola Field is down the street. Put the new football stadium down there and that would be pretty awesome for sports fans. There should be no other discussion about where to build a new stadium. Downtown/waterfront is perfect.
  6. Doesn't every team have to play a prime time game? May as well be that one. Figure they get ratings just because it's the first game of the season even though it would be a blowout .
  7. Exactly. Dumpster dive for a couple free agents in a few weeks then they will probably reach for a QB at #8 and that guy will be a bust in three years so they won't draft a QB next year where there are potential franchise QB's available so that's two more wasted first rounders and they will be in the same spot in 2016 after 3 more losing seasons. That's what they do and have been doing for 13 years. 13!!!!! No winning record. Not once. No playoffs. None at all. All time record. No worries though, Buddy is on it.
  8. I do believe they have a plan. They can't tell anyone their plan....other than the Buddy Nix taped phone call......if they told everyone their plan, there would be serious ramifications. You can't tell people that your plan is to lose big in 2013. That goes against everything sports are supposed to be about but it does happen. They would not sell any more tickets in 2013 if they said "Plan is to be the worst team in the NFL" They really have to bottom out. They need a franchise QB. Those guys are in college until 2014. The plan does not include Buddy Nix making decisions. Look at the 2014 QB Draft Class. Just look at it. Seriously look at it. It's 1,000x better than 2013. If they draft a QB in the 2013 draft in the first three rounds than I would have to believe that they really are clueless. Do not listen to the fans. Do not listen to Buddy Nix. Do not try and win this year. We'll see what happens. What they should do is get a few scraps in UFA as nothing more than stopgaps and roster fillers, trade the 8th this year and get two 1st round picks and an extra second. Fill needs in this draft. LB's, WR's, TE, DB, OL. Stay as far under the cap as allowed. Let TJax start and play every game. Evaluate all throughout 2013 who stays and who goes moving forward (i.e. all of Buddy's previous draft picks). Resign Wood. Get Spiller locked up long term. Draft the franchise QB with one of the top few picks in the 2014 draft. By 2015 they will be back in the playoffs.
  9. In my lifetime. 1976-77 and 1984-85 were probably worse in the short term. Players and coaches leaving, Attendance in the 20,000 range. Nobody wanted to ever come here and most guys couldn't wait to leave. Never as prolonged as it has been now though. 2001-2013. That's a long, long, long time to be just flat out bad.
  10. Matt Cassel. One year. League minimum. Draft a QB in the 3rd or 4th round this year and then draft the franchise QB with the #1 overall in 2014.
  11. Very, very interested in Pollard. #1 Patriot killer. 29 years old. Very physical. Only made $2 million last year. Outspoken pain in the you know what. Exactly what we need,
  12. Doubles the win total from 1 to 2. Good signing. We need LB's.
  13. Full on tank mode. Bring in Tebow. One year, league minimum. Draft a QB #1 or #2 overall in 2014. Trading picks to draft Geno Smith is just exactly something Buddy would do. That's why they are where they are. Moves like that are why the Bills are a continual joke. Draft a LB at #8. Take a WR and QB in the 2nd and 3rd. It doesn't matter what QB you draft in the 3rd round. You take a shot there, not at #3 or #8 in the first round, knowing full well Manzell, McCarron, Thomas, Murray and Mettenburger are first round prospects in 2014.
  14. Is it stupid? Think of something better. We have half a team. We have 6 draft picks. We have no QB. We have a hole at guard. We have no WR's behind Stevie & TJ Graham. We have no TE other than an injured Campbell. We are short at LB. We are short in the secondary. The guys we do have left aren't all that great to begin with. There is zero depth. The top players are flying off the board. The second tier players are next. So let's say they sign a couple left over scraps and draft 6 players. Rest will be UDFA. How do you expect them to win 3 or 4 games let alone be a .500 team or even touch a playoff spot? I don't see any way possible. So yes, the 2013 season is going to be a washout.
  15. Well....Dolphins signed WR Wallace, LB Ellerbe and S Clemons. Kinda 3 positions the Bills have needs at. Not saying they should have or could have signed those 3 guys but it's obvious Miami is far ahead of us in their rebuilding. Patriots are the Patriots. 2013 will be a battle for the 1st overall pick with the Jets. Sad the next season is already a wash out 2 hours into free agency.
  16. The Bills have been a team full of stop gaps for well over a decade. Why would a 36 year old player who is near the end of his career ever sign here? He wouldn't take a pay cut. Why would he take a pay cut to come back here? No chance.
  17. Maybe Buddy is a total genius. Maybe he recorded the conversation and leaked it on purpose. Maybe the prank part is all made up. Buddy threw Fitz under the bus, backed up and ran him over. Compete for a backup spot? Can't pay him that kind of money? Can't sign any free agents because of his contract? If Fitz doesn't do something (renegotiate?) the Bills have to? Just going to tell the Tampa Bay GM that in casual conversation? At least we know what they really think of Fitz.
  18. I'd do it. So many holes on this team at starting positions and no depth either. More picks the better, I'd kill to be SF right now. Traded for Harvin and still have 13 picks in the draft. You might get an impact player at 8 or you might draft Aaron Maybin or Mike Williams at 8. They'd get two needs taken care of in the first round (LB/WR) and then can draft a QB the 2nd and feel comfortable about it even if it's a bit of a reach.
  19. If Fitz is a Bill in 2013, guarantee they do not even sniff the playoffs for a 14th consecutive year and will not have anywhere close to a winning record. They can save $7 million in real money by cutting him. Take the $10 mil dead cap hit and move on. They will never ever ever win anything with Fitzpatrick at QB. Anyone thinks so....well....good luck with that.
  20. Sabres 84/85-86/87. Lost to Quebec in the 1st round 3 games to 2. Game 5 was a 6-5 loss in which they had a lead in the third.. Missed the playoffs the next 2 seasons. Perreault retired. That finished off the Scotty Bowman era in which he dismantled a pretty damn good hockey team. Bills 84-86. 2-14. 2-14. 4-12. By 86 we did have Kelly, Talley, Reed and Bruce. Marv showed up in the middle of the 86 season. Had no idea how any of those guys would do though and had no idea what was about to happen strarting in 1988. 1985 was probably the worst year ever.
  21. Nobody anywhere on this earth has any idea how any of these QB's will be in the NFL. Nobody. They can do all the tests, combines, stats, projections, anything else you can think of and it doesn't matter. The only way to find out is to draft one and let him play. Doesn't matter if it's 1st overall, 1st round or 6th round, Doesn't matter if he is 6'2 or 6'5, can run, can't run, smart, stupid and everything in between. Can compare him to anyone and everyone that ever played QB in the NFL. Nobody really knows. Everyone says "it's a weak QB class". BS. Nobody knows. It could be one of the best ever in a few years or the worst ever. Have to play and just see. Take the best and most educated guess possible and then all we can all do is wait and see and argue about it to no end. Everyone should be excited if they do draft a QB, any QB in the draft. .If nothing else, he has to be better than Fitzpatrick....or not.
  22. Don't really have much cap space for any big name free agents. QB is still a complete, total and utter disaster. As long as they do not have even a competent starting QB, they just will not win. Full speed ahead tank mode for 2013. 2-14. Draft the franchise QB first overall in 2014 has to be (and should be) the plan.
  23. Saves $4.175 million in cap space with only $800,000 in dead money. Should be a no-brainer cut. Would like to see them get about $40 million under. Resign Byrd and Levitre and get a UFA WR (Bowe), couple of LB's and a S.
  24. $130 million in renovations, repairs, improvements to the Ralph and a new stadium on the horizon. Bills are moving to LA unless Toronto saves us. What a giant load. Bills aren't moving anywhere for at least 10 years and when they do it will be into that new stadium in BUFFALO. Economically viable my left one. They make money just by being in the NFL. Taking much less money to keep this joke going for another 5 years. Toronto is going to cut ticket prices by a ton. It makes no sense. Nobody likes it. Want to improve it? Keep the games HERE. Whatever little money they are making this time can be easily made up. Raise beer prices. Play a meaningful home game after December 1st. Make the playoffs and have a couple extra home games. There's your frickin extra money.
  25. Love it. So much better trying something new and different for a change. No retreads. Youth movement. HC, OC, DC. Never been fired anywhere before. Just moved upward and onward. Plus they all WANTED to be here, not nobody wants to come here so we get stuck with some old guys that are hanging on by a thread, Maybe we will get some accountability, better game management, some new ideas. They are all up and coming guys, smart with a high potential for future success. Sure there is some risk, just like with anything. I like the chances of success now infinitely better than I did a week ago and so much more than if they went "safe" with a Lovie Smith or a Ken Whisenhut. So much so in fact, I'm going back to season tickets after three years off. Now lets get a QB and some LB's and we are on our way....FINALLY.
