Now WGR Just Said Billick Is Assembling Staff
Zona replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I completely disagree. He was the mastermind behind one of the highest scoring offenses in league history. (1998 the Vikings set the NFL record for points). I think it shows that he can look at a teams strengths and weaknesses and coach and plan accordingly. -
Tim Graham "Could Nix sway Schottenheimer to Bills?"
Zona replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i would love it if could land Marty. i would be ok with landing cowher. I think either one would be HUGE upgrades for our franchise. I love the idea of a Marty and Buddy combo leading our team to a SB victory. Marty proves he can finally win the BIG game, and the long suffering fans from Buffalo finally get their championship. Fairy tale ending. -
was that the game we had like 300 yards rushing? yeah, that was a good game also.
-
The best game I ever saw was the 51-3 route to get to our first SB. I seem to recall Kelly and the boys throwing the ball all over the field in a snowstorm that day... Just because the wind is blowing doesnt mean you cant throw the ball. You just need to know how to, and have experience doing just that....

What is this nonsense, Fitzpatrick gametime decision?
Zona replied to Mr. T's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
actually, it makes perfect sense to me. Fewell wants to win. period. He believes that Fitz gives him the best chance to win. It doesnt matter to Perry about draft position. It doesnt matter about developing talent. What he wants, is to say that he won three games, or even 4 games, after taking over with a team that had lost most of its offensive line. Most of its Linebackers. and had the most players put on IR of any in its history. That gives him bargaining power for other teams, even IF ralph doesnt want him back. Perry is doing whats best for HIM. Makes sense to me. -
none of this specultion matters until we get a GM and a HC. Then they will decide who will stay and who will go. I STILL want to see Edwards play behind a good O-line and with a HC and O-coordinator who know what he is doing.

This is pretty much what I think about it as well. Although, i think that line was in a different clint movie. The one with Freeman and the Hookers, Unforgiven.

Driving Pet Peeves - Mine Deals With Changing Lanes

In the old days, the flashing of headlights when passing or to to signal the passing vehicle was used on Interstates for Truckers mostly. If gave the Truckers visual confirmation that they were clear to merge back in. Of course, in those same Old Days, the said Trucker was doing about 120 and the vacuum created as he passed you would nearly suck you in to the side of his rig.... -
best wishes, Lori, from out west...

Kyle Williams: We are a ''stupid'' team
Zona replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder if the fourth Qtr collapses have anything to do with being out of shape? Dickie coddled the little tykes instead of toughening them up just a little, maybe. -
i have a feeling this draft will be like the famous 1983 draft. I think we could see 5 QB's picked in rd 1.
-
No, i am saying I wouldnt spend a first or second on him. i think a third is perfect for him.
-
I had never seen this kid play until last night. To me, he looks like a small school version of Tebow. He qb'ed in the spread, and ran frequently. If we draft a qb who played in this offense, I would rather take the guy from the SEC who played at the highest level for 4 years... And for the record, i dont want tebow. Running qb's dont make the jump to the NFL very often.

I am not convinced England is the team to beat. I would say they are one of the favorites, but Italy is still defending champion and they have a cake draw. I also think Spain is a top 3 contender, IF Torres is healthy. He is one of the best strikers in the world. England's Rooney is also, but he is not as able to score from anywhere like Torres. Either way, I cant wait for June, 2010. BTW- I will be cheering on the good ole' USA, as well as the Netherlands. i like the Dutch. As a Nation, they excel at damn near every sport...

I was 11. We lived in a trailor outside Albion. It took a week for the street to get cleared by the front-loader. My Mom knew it was coming and luckily had just filled the heating oil and refrigerator...

Who says we need to trade up? we will be in the top 5.

That sounds like the injury Napoleon McCallum had for the Raiders. They had to rush him to the hospital for emergency surgery to stop the internal bleeding in the knee. They almost amputated the leg...

Here are some coaching stats to ponder
Zona replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
soooo, Schottenheimer it is. Sounds good to me. -
IMO- we have slowly fallen down the slippery slope to mediocrity ever since WWII. It started with the first unpopular effort in Korea, then we killed a president, then we had Vietnam, and slowly have devolved into a Nation of People who are easily offended, thin-skinned, Blow-hards. I will sue! You cant call me that! My coffee is too hot! You were mean to me! You looked at me funny! We were a Nation who conquered all. Space. Freedom. Ideology. Technology. Science. Medicine. We stood against Nazism, and Fascism, and Socialism. Now, we are becoming Socialist by choice. We are a shell of what, and who we once were. We are afraid of being sued, or thrown in jail, let alone stand up and fight for an Ideal, or God forbid die for one. We can't and wont defend our own borders for crying out loud. We are Nation of short memories. How many remember 9/11? We need to move past the anger we are told. we wont show the towers coming down because we dont want to cause pain. We need to be more understanding of people who are harming us, instead of fighting back, we are told. We are embarrassed for being strong, opinionated, kind, and generous. We give away our rights to be "safer". We agree to surveillance at levels I would have never thought possible. We let the Politicians tell us what we can do, and say, and think, and listen to. Whatever happened to live and let live? Where are we headed? What will The USA be like in another 20 years? The Nation you have been admiring from just 70 years ago, IMO, doesn't exist anymore. Again, these are just opinions. Others may be different. Flame away if you must. It is after all what we have become. My opinion is neither right nor wrong, as is anybody else's.

The Compelling Case for Mike Leach as Head Coach
Zona replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
with all due respect to you guys getting on Leach as a "one trick pony" with a "gimmick" offense, i say you are mistaken. Innovative offenses come along all the time. Wildcat, K-gun, No-Huddle, Run and Shoot, Mike martz' greatest show on turf, etc etc. They sometimes work, and they sometimes fail. The thing I want to see from a coach is; can he get the most from his players? and can he win? So far, Leach has done that. The win against Texas last year was enormous. Can he do that at the next level? Who knows? Someday we may find out. I just hope it isn't against us twice a year. Would I make Leach MY first choice? Maybe, but probably not. I would not be terribly upset if we hired him. I would certainly love the aggressive approach for a while, as opposed to Jauron Ball. Senator----Rock on dude! now is the time to get your voice heard by the PTB at OBD. Dont go so far as to get banned, though. At least someone here knows who he wants to hire. -
can we please put Kampman ideas to rest? We already have 3 Aaron Kampman's on the roster. PLUS he is old and slow. I just watched the entire GB vs TB game this weekend and Kampman is Schobel. He may even be less than schobel. I was less than impressed with a once good player. The dude needs to retire.

that was a great story! Congratulations Simon. You should be very proud.
