  1. Is any fanbase more in sync with their team? More emotionally wedded to their team? More anxious when the heart of the team maybe doesn't feel quite... in rhythm? This may be hyperbole, but I feel as if BB MD is using the body of Buffalo Bills Fandom as a gauge for the extent to which the heart of this team; players AND coaches, can be resuscitated. A lot of people here have said it, not just me... I've never been more anguished; and more in grief over this team, than I was in January. I had to completely unplug. I'm sure the team sees it on social media, call in shows, podcast streams, etc. For many, the extreme detachment this year was real. I get it... the salary cap is real; but Beane did not have to be so hardcore about it... Well, like I began to say; Beane got out the AED machine... Assuming the TV shows are right, the first shock is not the strongest. You want to make sure you don't over shock the system. But... you do come in strong... make the ticking time and effort worth a try. CLEAR!!!!! (Poyer, Morse, Hyde) thump... no reaction from the body. CLEAR!!!!! (Davis, Neal, Jackson, Matakevitch, Von Miller paycut) thump... no reaction CLEAR!! (Tre White) the body shifts a bit... still not enough. CLEAR!!! (Diggs trade!) And at last... the body of the Buffalo Bills Fanbase is convulsing on the table: spitting, trembling and groaning, but the pulse is back people! The will to fight together again... to live another day and struggle for survival and success. Put another way,... they've hooked me again, lol
  2. Good points. Weighing salary vs. pick values... if the proven vet options are too expensive, I think I'd like to get a WR in the high 2nd round this year, rather than sit tight or trade up.
  3. Not a knock on Sammy specifically. My point is that we could have had Kelvin Benjamin! errr.... I mean, Davante Adams... OR.... Jordan Matthew's, Jarvis Landry, Allen Robinson. But we threw in picks to get up to Watkins/ Mike Evans / OBJ territory and struck out. Rather than either of those scenarios, I'd rather trade the mid to low first rounder for a proven commodity. Who would that have been in 2014? I don’t know. Not sure if the right guy exists this year either, but it would be my preference if possible.
  4. Doug Whaley says, think twice... Seriously, why not do what we did to get Diggs? The low first rounder should be enough to get a proven vet #1 instead of giving up another pick in order to try to get the unknown rookie who might, just might, be a generational talent...
  5. Your defensive minded head coach is one of the unanimous votes on the competition committee, right? Everyone's comments are aimed at nameless, faceless "the NFL" but one of them takes questions from the local media every week. In other news, I love the phrase "un-weights himself" I'm going to use that when it's time to chill out on the couch. Honey, I'm just going to un-weight myself now...
  6. Awesome list, especially with concise updates, thanks! Gabe Davis missing from Other FAs.
  7. Well it's true he had lot of trouble breathing
  8. I don't think it was a fake slide to the extent that a pump fake is a fake throw, but at full speed, the way he slowed up and slightly leaned back as defenders were converging, in real time, it had some gamesmanship to it. I figured he was seriously considering beginning to slide then when the defense hesitated, he saw the opening and opportunity to hit the gas.
  9. LOL, yes, and I love the words "somewhat probable". Probable means "reasonably sure but not certain to happen". Possible can mean anything from a 1% chance to a 99% chance of something happening. So somewhat probable will from now on mean... 59% to ... ... let's say... 77.4% sure to happen?? Yes, once we reach 77.5% certainty, then it's straight up probable.
  10. Agree it's odd to see Diggs dropping multiple passes a game
  11. Seems like a no brainer. He's probably already got plenty of money... Don't need the full year's salary. Don't need the wear and tear on the body.
  12. WGR has rewind for regular programming if you listen through the Audacy app. If they have it for the game, you could just press pause for a few seconds, then play again
  13. I was 19, living in Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks. I was on my way to work as a server at a barbecue joint and stopped at the Sears store downtown to buy... vacuum bags. Walked past the wall of TV's showing a disaster movie with no sound on. Got my bags, looked back at the tvs thinking, that's weird, they have been showing the same movie scene since I walked in... wait a minute, no... No!!! This is real... By the time I got to work, the second plane had hit. Still worked the whole day and I'll never forget it. So quiet, the only sounds were what the cooks made in the back... The TVs on all day but after a few hours, no volume in the restaurant either, every interaction with customers, taking orders and providing food, included a quiet, reverence for the shocking moment we were sharing, unspoken thoughts for everyone down there and a shared fear for ourselves, even as far away as we were.
  14. Wow, I never considered that with every other flight diverting, every single plane in the air became off course and suspicious on top of the actual terrorist flightpath diversions
  15. I am a huge McDermott fan but this thread does actually make me concerned / raise the eyebrows a bit. I would be interested to factor in each coach's win loss record up to the year they made the Super Bowl as well. And who are the highest win loss percentage coach's who NEVER actually made the Super Bowl. Just based on name and reputation, would you fire them too?? Sure, every case is individual and unique and there's always an anomaly to the trend, but seriously, just look at the company McD is in within this chart and it's not inspiring.
  16. They gotta fix the end zone corners though. They are actually too tight. It's more important that players feel free to make a play. A receiver diving all out for a pass diagonally through the end zone corner has to be mindful of the wall and curl up right away. It could actually be very dangerous, knock on wood, so far we've been fortunate. But I've seen some scary plays in those corners.
  17. And the 2004 season opener. Ernest Wilford walk off TD catch.
  18. I feel like there is a psychological edge being granted to the Bengals because they nearly killed a Bill
  19. I heard his play by play call after the fact and didn't know what I was listening to. I thought, wow that's a familiar voice. This play by play sounds fantastic. It's not the Bills game for sure though... Wait, that's Brownie.. this is the Bills game! Anyway, I hope Murph makes a quick, full recovery and is able to live a long happy life with his family and as Western NY royalty. I'm looking forward to hearing more of Chris Brown's play by play though
  20. It wouldn't be that unreasonable to not play the rest of the game and then decide all AFC rankings just for this year based on number of losses as the initial ranking criteria instead of win percentage. Then proceed with the usual tiebreakers from there.
