  1. I'm reading a lot of screens during 11 on 11 first session. EJ also took a sack.
  2. Maybe the reporters are trying to network during practice and that causes them to miss the nuances of each play. Either way I haven't seen their level of access result in much information. Remember when Kromer was going to be fired 2 different times.
  3. Agreed Agreed as well. We were 12th in Red Zone Attempts and 30th in TD%. If we could be average in TD % we would have 5 more TDs which is 20 more points.
  4. I would call Michael Vick "meh" (or something worse) if the Bills signed, but he has had a more successful career than anyone mentioned in your posts. My "meh" with respect to both Vick and Cassel is because both guys haven't been too exciting as of late (past 3 seasons). I do think EJ could have seasons like Cassel's best (little bit of a reach to say he will). I also don't think EJ's out of the league if he doesn't make it here. I think he would be picked up as a back up that would likely get several opportunities to start (be it for poor play or injuries). His physical attributes and calm demeanor will serve him well as he ages. What I mean is he will work very hard until he fixes the gaps in his game, and at that point I don't think his arm will have started to fade. I think these two features are why the EJ "defenders" do not think he should be written off. On the flip side, I get the win now mentality because teams like this don't seem to last (I'm hoping Whaley is draft genius). EJ has definitely been underwhelming at times in his career, but I think he will good QB (albeit in probably in 3-4 more years).
  5. I took your question to assume EJ would be starting no matter what. If you're asking me the odds he starts I say 40% and if he wins the competition, 90% he is better than Orton.
  6. 10% hes in as long as either 5% hes as good as Cassel's best (by which I assume you mean make a pro bowl) 70% hes better than Orton last year One of these questions is more important than the other two.
  7. If he has a breaks out this year, doesn't he become not cheap? As in some other team would offer him good money and we would have to match. As corners (including nickel corners) are hard to find I would expect him to get a decent offer, at least from Pettine and the Browns.
  8. Didn't you make this same post like 5 months ago, in a thread about Incognito nonetheless. Sheeesh stop being so reasonable.
  9. Considering how good he's looked the past couple of days, he'll be in the HOF if keeps up that rate of improvement. But really the guy is just inconsistent.
  10. That would be frustrating to me as the GM. I've built this team for a particular coach and his style. He is terminated for any number of different reasons (beach chairs come to mind). Now I'm going to do a 180 and try to salvage what I built. But maybe you're referring to other situations in which the coach did not scheme for his players at all, or the GM is terminated as well.
  11. Interesting stuff. I wonder how they did outside their garbage division? I feel as if we would lead the league in all defensive statistical categories if we played in the AFC south.
  12. Eagles have a good DL. I think it was ranked ahead of ours in one of the terrible off season rankings posted on the forum.
  13. Agreed. I've been in the Anyone But Cassel club for a while. Both have pros/cons, but I think the biggest similarity is their ability to run the ball out of the read option.
  14. I think long term the hope is to move Richardson there. Didn't Kyle get extended? I think he'll be back next year but I don't think (in order of likelihood IMO) McKelvin, Fred, and Wood will be back next year.
  15. The bar on the side is funny. His pre-camp prediction had EJ at 50% and then on Aug 2 at 25%. I love that reporters (like this board) hit the panic button after 3 days. I'm going to hold off all predictions until at least the scrimmage, but I will continue to laugh at any wild fluctuations in predictions on a day to day basis. Welp now you've gone and jinxed it!!!
  16. Sounded like a good practice for the young QBs. I think EJ was probably the biggest surprise. It will be interesting to see what Astro's take is. Also I think a light day for McCoy (from what I read on twitter).
  17. Most exciting thread in a month. Thank god. This defense was good last year when we just sat back and didn't blitz. If we can get away with 8 in the box, I don't know if theres much to stop us. Side note with all the confusion/chaos I would imagine the % of turnovers converted to TD's is higher. Did the '85 bears score a lot of TD's off of turnovers?
  18. Interviewing no. But after I have been hired by my new company I have had no problem thrashing my old company. Particularly I enjoy pointing out the numerous examples of how my new employer is better than my old employer. Also my new employer seems to love me. I have been given additional responsibilities and am leading people who have been with the company longer (although I have more experience and better degrees). So I don't think Sammy's coaches or the FO have a problem with this. I don't have a problem with it (particularly because Fred has done it); as long as it doesn't interfere with his performance. I don't think this is bashing; also IIRC these comments have come out already too so not sure why the BFD now.
  19. Question now seems to be if the Bills do anything (fire or bring him back before his court date of 12AUG2015). I imagine they wait at this point.
  20. Agreed that Anderson has to be the plan if Kromer misses any time or is fired. Whomever is leading the line is probably the most important offensive position coach.
  21. Over the cap is saying >$2.4 million saved by a post june 1st cut. Oddly it was only $755k savings for a pre june 1st cut. Not sure how accurate OTC is though http://overthecap.com/player/chris-williams/2179
  22. Sorry, I don't think its a bad thought/question. Gun to my head I think he might get a 5th (probably over optimistic too). I just don't think he's shown enough to have too much value outside of Buffalo. Also since we are so short staffed we have added desire to retain him. Like I said though if we draft another OT and keep Glenn then he would most certainly be on the block. Crazy how quickly things can change, but this year I think he's here.
