  1. I love Shavers and would be very happy with him on the roster. One play in garbage time does not show me he has more juice than samuels. Bills would agree as they continued to play Samuels after this play. Are you saying this play puts Shaver over Samuels? The juice that Samuels provides that I dont/havent seen from Shavers is getting open downfield (this is literally Shavers only target/catch in the NFL). Taking a screen to the house against the blitz is great but is something Samuels also does. Again I love Shavers, but considering him a better WR than Samuels is silly. Reminds me of folks who had Moore as more important than Palmer this off season. Sheesh.
  2. I totally disagree. I thought Samuels added juice at the end of last season that I dont see Shavers adding. I love shavers and am happy to add him as WR6. However, in no world do i want him on the field over Samuels if both are healthy. I get its frusturating that he cant stay healthy but they are likely saving him for when it counts. To me roster decisions should be about play on the field (where Samuels >> Shavers) and contract decisions is where health enters the equation (wouldnt be surprised if shavers gets a tender next year and samuels is cut) I dont think youre serious but considering people think Shavers is better use of a roster spot than Samuel then they would have to agree with this too.
  3. The analytics aint perfect for sure and the eye test still matters. but with this much data pointing one way you sorta need to say what is analytics missing. For example with Josh, everyone predicted he would bust because of completion % in college, but what was missing was that Josh didnt have all the reps (likely had like 10k less throws than his peers) that players in the historical data set did. I dont think its terrible to question his ability in man as that has come along lately and he doesnt come off as an athletic freak (good RAS of 8.14, but poor agility). I think the all 22 would be telling as he is every bit the technician that Tre was/is but better explosion.
  4. In 5 total games he has given up a total of 89 yards on 8 catches (13 targets). He has 1 pick and 1 TD given up. The game your thinking of is probably last year where he was targeted 6 times and gave up 5 completions for 54 yards. He also had 2 DPI (one was offset; reviewing game log reminded me what a gross flag fest that game was). Considering Wilson specifically he had the two DPI (accepted one was super ticky tack), gave up a TD (great job getting knee down by Wilson), and had one other downfield play given up. There was also a screen where gave up a few yards (dont think it was an explosive), and a one where Dorian doesnt undercut Wilsons route (from a cover 1 analysis iirc) and it gets credited to Benford who is bailing in off coverage (think its cover 3 or cover 4).
  5. PFR credits Benford with being targeted twice for 30 yards (OMFG PFR also seemingly has both targets going to Tee Higgins). Not sure what you think abuse is but you should provide some video cause your eyes lied to you. Generally Benford doesnt get abused by ANYONE (as he has one of the lowest yards per catch or yards per target). In 39 career games he has given up more than 50 yards only 3 times!!!! Half the time he doesnt even give up 25 yards. Half the times he doesnt even give up 3+ catches. Im having a hard time finding any teams he even struggles with (his two DET performances was the closest I could find; 52 yards on 3 catches in 2022 and 44 yards on 5 catches in 2024). these stats can lie but you need to check the video cause i cant find anything to support what your eyes saw.
  6. I love the idea of platooning Hairston in. That will give him reps to grow but also keep Tre if we do need him for the playoffs. He’ll be fresh that way.
  7. OMFG i was looking at age on PFR. Thanks!
  8. I think i see 23 which would be dorian strong.
  9. The depth of the draft at DT also didnt hep him. He was DT13 with guys like CJ West and Josh Farmer going after him. Feel like all of them are better than DT10 in most drafts.
  10. Liked most of what you said but benford has played 15 games the past two seasons. It’s just that he’s missed the elimination game every year. I wouldn’t consider him injury prone (not what you said but what you implied).
  11. I wonder how much gate keeping holds back the evolution of the game. I get genetics matter for on the field performance so having familial connections is logical. But off the field should seemingly be more open and yet feels just as insular. Barrier to entry is tricky cause it takes years to learn the nuances and the relationship of coaches would get that for free. As football becomes more accessible from video review online I’m excited to see what new approaches people previously unable to learn can bring.
  12. Plenty of schemed up deep balls in this video. Note Franklin was like blown coverage wide open on the Bo Nix TD. Josh has plenty of better deep throws that are in scheme. If the point is he did worse at these types of throw this past year, then I agree. However, Josh has now shown he can fix whatever problem he focuses on (best historical season of % negative plays!!!!) including in 2020 when he originally fixed his deep ball issues.
  13. First i saw his name. I looked at highlights quickly. Saw him line up inside the tackle a lot. I sorta got the Duane Smoot vibe from him. Agree seems like a solid practice squad player if he doesnt make too much noise in preseason
  14. Are you implying Laviska Shenault is ahead of Coleman on the depth chart? Who is this 3rd veteran WR that indicates Coleman is off? I (as well as like everyone) will be shocked if Coleman isnt on this team. He got challenged by Beane and McD at the end of the year but there were favorable quotes about his growth at OTAs. And that challenge was specifically how he returned from injury. I think they were pleased with him pre-injury.
  15. Just a term from video games. A code you enter to make things easier (Contra has a famous one that gave 30 extra lives). As to scoring on Spag's defense thats just the beauty of Josh Allen to me. Sometimes it took him a minute to figure out a DC but he has balled out against a lot of them (Bellicheck, Spags, Salah, Flores off the top of my head). Occasionally they would do well later and he would struggle for a game but always got them back.
  16. Get more passing reps in while hog mollies go pound each other somewhere else. Basically take the pass rush part of the play out of the equation and look at just coverage and routes (obviously favors the offense a lot).
  17. I was also concerned with him on the right after TC in 2023. Think many were cause he got smoked by steelers iirc. I thought he was very serviceable last year against KC. Though in hind sight Karlaftis got 4 pressures and a QB hit so not great, but I still think serviceable as a swing tackle (was worried in 2023 he couldnt do the right at all).
  18. Spags with KC has been their cheat code imo.
  19. Which is nuts cause i was very happy with Van Demark coming out of 2023 and Van Demark played well against KC in the reg season last year. Feel like we might be trading an OL for a late round pick this year. Hoping we can get as high as a 5th rounder
  20. Even crazier, when he was injured, his back up Van Demark even played well against the Chiefs. In Kromer I trust forever. He can throw all the beach chairs he wants.
  21. Joe Marino has continued to mention that Grable has the same measureables as David Edwards. Lots of people have mentioned how strong he played last camp. He def seems like a potential replacement.
  22. Its his saints stint where he was a DL coach that gives hope. He got the most out of Cam Jordan and developed Trey Hendrickson into a double digit guy before he left for Cinci. Those defenses (starting in 2017 through 2022) generated a lot of sacks (42-50 per year). When he went to ATL they did improve their pass rush, and Jax last year was a super hot mess.
  23. Nielsen started as DL coach for saints in 2017. Had 42 sacks that year. Peaked with 50 a couple years later (we only got 37 last year with an extra game). Got the best out of cam Jordan and developed Trey Hendrickson to get his first 10+ sack season. He did flame out as a DC (though jags last year were a mess) but has demonstrated an ability as a DL coach (ATL doubled sacks too). Happy to see him cook up some new rush packages (stunts have been a focus of his I saw reported). Yeah I’m hoping they didn’t want to demote west after one year and that’s why the titles stayed the same. Joe Marino was the one mentioning that he’s teach technique from all the OTA videos. Will be a thing to watch for on hard knocks. God I love that we get that look inside this year.
  24. Worth noting we brought in Ryan Nielsen this year, and he seems to be the de facto DL coach from all the videos posted of OTAs.
  25. Significantly better than his 2023 season with 4.24 average (lower than his college average of 4.36). Hope the bengals just botched this one. https://atozsports.com/nfl/cincinnati-bengals-news/roster-breakdown-brad-robbins-2024-nfl/
