  1. If you want injury insurance why not take a WR in the 2nd round? I don't want us to spend precious capital on insurance. I'm very ambivalent on this pick, but I would not make the call based on insurance. I'd make it on BPA and ability to scheme around the person I brought in.
  2. His coverage looked pretty good to me. He didn't give up many receptions in his zone and forced a look off at least once because of his coverage. My biggest issue was him diving at tackles. But I only watched one game. Bloke and bandit would probably have done more work.
  3. I may be misremembering but i thought that was a responsibility only for him. He definitely gets off the ball on the highlight of him versus Ronnie Stanley (the tackle to prevent a sack). Also, I remember him scoring well for explosiveness at the combine. However, I did see some plays that were weird cause he was still in his stance when others were getting upfield (don't know wtf was going on with those). Maybe its a snap timing thing (seems like that could be taught more than other things). Overall I still like the pick because its an impact position and a guy with a high ceiling and high floor. I don't think 8 sacks would be unreasonable this year, but i wouldn't call it a break out either.
  4. My understanding was that he had pass/run reads to make for Clemson. Thus, the poor get off was him making the read. There were plenty of plays in which he pinned his ears back and was off the ball with good speed.
  5. Watched his game versus VT. Looked above average on coverage, pass rush, and diagnosing plays. Looked below average on tackling and taking on blocks. If he bulks up he could probably improve the lacking parts of his game. I would be interested to see what bandit or bloke have to say. I would think hes worth a day 3 pick for sure.
  6. Is there Mahomes game I should watch? I did the draft breakdown of the Baylor game and I wasnt too impressed. He was a bit tough to assess cause his WRs both bailed him out on not great throws and dropped good ones (or didnt high point). I watched Trubisky versus Duke and even though he had a terrible 2nd half thought he played well. Read the field well and got let down by his WRs a bit. Ended the game very terrible which is a red flag. Any other games from these two I should be watching? At this point I lean towards taking Trubisky because brains > arm strength to me.
  7. I'm also not on this hype train. Watched a draft breakdown vs cinci. Didnt really create any pass rush. Run support was ok but had troulbe finishing some plays. Dropped into coverage 3 times and was thrown to twice with no completions. However the Cinci QB was REALLY bad. Am I missing something other than the measurables?
  8. Want: Hooker Don't Want: Peppers Dark Horse: Howard Think: Davis
  9. Hes got the fly sweep down for the wishbone!!! Looks like a good day 2 draft pick. Probably worth a look on draft breakdown.
  10. Love your work. But don't lie. You did this cause you thought we signed him. Keep up the analysis.
  11. Yea I was hoping 10-6 would do it but it does look like 11-5 is necessary. Lets get a great 2nd half to continue the journey.
  12. Putting someone over the top of Goodwin is a win. Thats one more person out of the box. With another WR spread out wide that means only 8 in the box. I'll take woods one on one for most of the game. The threat of a vertical passing game does help the run game. I have really like our use of the draw lately. Gets the LBs and Safeties retreating and then Shady runs past them.
  13. Seems like theyve been resting LorAx in the 3rd already (can someone show numbers?). Shaq could just get the reps that they are already resting LorAx
  14. Is it terrible though? Didn't they shut down one of the better passing offenses this week (Brown had 4 catches for 39 yards)? Ben was 19/34 for 189 yrds with 1TD/2INTS.
  15. I forgot about Kolby. Any chance he maybe comes back to help this WR corp?
  16. This is where I'm at too. I thought he did all three good today again. I think top 10 in all 3 and top 5 in at least one will get the job done (i.e. playoffs).
  17. Yeah I thought he hit the big three pretty well too. 1ish TO, good RZ%, good 3rd%. Thanks for coming back. I think he missed one or two plays but made a bunch with his legs.
  18. Make that three with fantasy teams that perform opposite the bills.
  19. I mentioned in the tracking defense thread, but it seems appropriate here. Buffalo Rumblings has given LorAx a negative pass rush grade through 5 weeks???? WTF do you want from him, or am I just missing something? http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2016/10/12/13251998/bills-rams-lesean-mccoy-tyrod-taylor-lorenzo-alexander-rumblings-bills-grades-week-5
  20. we've been tracking the defense pretty closely. And it sounds like we're all impressed with LorAx; so why does buffalo rumblings have the league leader in sacks with a negative pass rush grade after 5 weeks???? http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2016/10/12/13251998/bills-rams-lesean-mccoy-tyrod-taylor-lorenzo-alexander-rumblings-bills-grades-week-5
  21. I think it can be instructive too, but I also think it is very scheme based. We took and connected on more deep shots last year thus we had a higher YPA. Another team might have a scheme to do "long handoffs" a lot. That would lower YPA but if that QB hits those 3 main points; TOs, RZ%, 3rd%; are more relevant to winning.
  22. He's not leaving a lot of points from what I see (maybe if you consider stalled drives). The team RD% is not bad (9th in TDs). I do think the 3rd down % could be higher.
  23. I've said it in other threads but ALL I want is top 5 in TO, top 10 in Red Zone TD %, and top 10 3rd down %. I don't care what you do in completion %, YPA, Yards, QBR. If you hit those metrics you are going to win a lot of games. It might be ugly but it will be a lot (I know some of those are team stats).
