  1. Thanks for all your replies to this topic!!! I also think the LB crew has a lot of question marks. I am hopeful that Ragland can play but am a bit concerned about the comments on his current weight. I started this thread cause I thought safety, particularly Poyer, was a bigger question. I am hopeful that he can play safety in a zone but theres just not a lot of proof. I think safety is still my biggest question on the team.
  2. I believe he thinks you should only do 1 year deals if you're a "contender." Practically these are common for all teams.
  3. My understanding was MG was a castoff too. Maybe just calm down everyone and see if the coaches think the kid can play?
  4. Thanks bandit. The articles were a bit helpful but they were pretty sour on him (maybe for a good reason). The biggest mistake I've seen from him is that Pitta play where he lunged for no reason after the ball and ended up giving up a lot more yards. Other than that though I havent seen a load of terrible plays (the other two plays mentioned in the Ravens write up seemed to be over the top safety problems to me). I'll keep digging and see what I can find. Thanks.
  5. So everyone keeps ragging on Poyer on here. So I went looking for tape on him, but I can't seem to find any recent tape on him. I looked at two highlight videos of Browns v Raiders and Browns v Pats last year. He was nowhere to be seen which I took as a not bad thing (god the Browns are bad at tackling and covering). Is there any recent tape people could show of him (I looked at college tape but that was an eternity ago)? Could cover1 do a little segment on him. Bandit, Bloke I think you commented before, but can you remind me if the kid is any good. I mean hes gonna be our starting safety...
  6. So I can understand that (I'm on the fence about the extension but lean towards its ok). But my gripe is with the phrase Tyrod got the last staff fired. What you said is not Tyrod go the last staff fired. Rex got himself fired. Full stop.
  7. Cool good to know that you think Tyrod was why Rex got fired. I would've thought it was the litany of other things. Chiefly how he managed the team. In your opinion Tyrod should have been let go and not Rex?
  8. Please answer the question mentioned above. Do you actually believe tyrod got the last staff fired? I may be ok with your late round project suggestion. But when you throw nonsense like tyrod got rex fired. Well that makes your post useless.
  9. +1 for dobbs. If we don't take one early, I'd really like him. Maybe its just cause hes an engineer.
  10. Agreed. I feel as if I saw some of this in the draft breakdown videos ("that sack is on him"), but I"m going to pay closer attention. Also I'm always surprised how few views those videos have on Youtube.
  11. Can't even find measurables on this guy. Only thing I could find says 5-11 and 180 with a 4.40 forty but that appears to be his HS numbers. What's his arm size? Where does he expect to compete (nickel corner)? Should I stop wasting my time on camp fodder? Bueller...? http://247sports.com/Player/Bradley-Sylve-1542
  12. Averaged 15.6 carries and that includes 3 games of 5, 5, 8. His median was 17 which I think is more indicative of his usage. I'm good with Shady, would you be ok with his 17 carries still averaging 5.4 yards per carry?
  13. On the offense, we get Sammy back and Woods is gone versus last year. IF (i know its big i capitalized it) Sammy stays healthy then how did we get worse on offense (new system maybe?)? The offense stalled at times but it did put up enough points. I'm very conflicted on defense. Rex was bad but it does look like we lost more talent (particularly the secondary), but McD doesn't seem to need great secondary outside of safety. LB will be interesting but i do expect the front 4 to have more production.
  14. In the season the most important game is the next one, but were in the offseason. I think a holistic approach is warranted.
  15. If you want injury insurance why not take a WR in the 2nd round? I don't want us to spend precious capital on insurance. I'm very ambivalent on this pick, but I would not make the call based on insurance. I'd make it on BPA and ability to scheme around the person I brought in.
  16. His coverage looked pretty good to me. He didn't give up many receptions in his zone and forced a look off at least once because of his coverage. My biggest issue was him diving at tackles. But I only watched one game. Bloke and bandit would probably have done more work.
  17. I may be misremembering but i thought that was a responsibility only for him. He definitely gets off the ball on the highlight of him versus Ronnie Stanley (the tackle to prevent a sack). Also, I remember him scoring well for explosiveness at the combine. However, I did see some plays that were weird cause he was still in his stance when others were getting upfield (don't know wtf was going on with those). Maybe its a snap timing thing (seems like that could be taught more than other things). Overall I still like the pick because its an impact position and a guy with a high ceiling and high floor. I don't think 8 sacks would be unreasonable this year, but i wouldn't call it a break out either.
  18. My understanding was that he had pass/run reads to make for Clemson. Thus, the poor get off was him making the read. There were plenty of plays in which he pinned his ears back and was off the ball with good speed.
  19. Watched his game versus VT. Looked above average on coverage, pass rush, and diagnosing plays. Looked below average on tackling and taking on blocks. If he bulks up he could probably improve the lacking parts of his game. I would be interested to see what bandit or bloke have to say. I would think hes worth a day 3 pick for sure.
  20. Is there Mahomes game I should watch? I did the draft breakdown of the Baylor game and I wasnt too impressed. He was a bit tough to assess cause his WRs both bailed him out on not great throws and dropped good ones (or didnt high point). I watched Trubisky versus Duke and even though he had a terrible 2nd half thought he played well. Read the field well and got let down by his WRs a bit. Ended the game very terrible which is a red flag. Any other games from these two I should be watching? At this point I lean towards taking Trubisky because brains > arm strength to me.
  21. I'm also not on this hype train. Watched a draft breakdown vs cinci. Didnt really create any pass rush. Run support was ok but had troulbe finishing some plays. Dropped into coverage 3 times and was thrown to twice with no completions. However the Cinci QB was REALLY bad. Am I missing something other than the measurables?
  22. Want: Hooker Don't Want: Peppers Dark Horse: Howard Think: Davis
  23. Hes got the fly sweep down for the wishbone!!! Looks like a good day 2 draft pick. Probably worth a look on draft breakdown.
  24. Love your work. But don't lie. You did this cause you thought we signed him. Keep up the analysis.
