  1. As a Bills fan I always acted like I hated Coach Shula but in reality I respected him and the manner in which he approached the game. I always admired how candid he would be even when other professionals and tv announcers just weren't. 328-156-6 and no significant scandals that I'm aware of.
  2. If we're talking football Barry owns the category but if it is more general then you have to consider this move ?
  3. There will only ever be one other Johnny Manziel and that's Billy Vegas
  4. I tend to focus on results and not where players were before
  5. Doing the exact opposite of whatever Kiper says ?
  6. Could not agree more. Winners focus on winning. Losers focus on winners.
  7. I believe it was 1 fumble in the preseason and one in the regular season.
  8. Yeah I know, but to me it just seemed that they lost faith in him. I know it was only two fumbles but watching it on tv I was worried everytime he got the ball. Not sure why
  9. I think it's the fumbles that held him back. I was always worried the few times he had the ball. He has talent, I think he was trying too hard and those couple of fumbles were held against him.
  10. There is no way that the hoodie will be sharing a podium with the guy in the scarf. No way. He's looking for someone who will fold in to the system like an Andy Dalton type player
  11. You're no fun being logical & bringing stats to the party ?
  12. Especially when you see who he has at 10 and the logic used. I've long since reach the point where I don't care what these guys think. Most don't even watch all the games they just parrot the current narratives.
  13. Ed's a big boy. Looked to me like he really should be on a bigger horse. Kinda reminded me of..
  14. No but it killed that drive. Give me a break. This is a young team on the rise growing and gaining experience. All the experts had them as a 6.5 win team. As for not ready for prime time I seem to remember them doing just fine against the Cowboys and Steelers in primetime. Let's try and have some perspective and recognize improvement and growth. No I did read your post but the only logical conclusion was that you made a typo. That was a horrible call.
  15. I posted this since we all agree that awful call changed the outcome of the game @BillsVet was referencing. I'm really happy how McD is doing and building things. I remember the 6.5 games that Vegas gave us before the season and how suddenly we underachieved by controlling our own path to the playoffs and losing a game on a really bad call.
  16. You may need to check in with some sources that impart information that reflects scientific findings. Sadly this is not going anywhere miraculously in April so we having beautifully filled churches at Easter is really not a good idea.
  17. ESPN is happy to have anyone pay attention to them these days. Scraping through the archives only get you so far
  18. OK we're all on lock down so you've plenty of time to Google before you post. Rex Ryan may have won the off season but playoffs never happened despite being handed a top 3 defense. We've made the playoffs twice in three years with this current approach. The only thing Rex Ryan did twice in 3 years was get fired as head coach.
  19. My original point was about winning the offseason ? I love the Diggs pickup just tired the winning free agency stuff when it doesn't mean anything. I am excited to see Diggs Brown and Beasley tearing it up. Never made it to Whitehall Tavern. I'm OTP and drink too much during games. There's a place called The Standard in downtown Roswell where I watch. They hang a Bills flag 24*7 outside the front door and a healthy number of Bills fans there every Sunday. Plus they've got good beer too!!!
  20. I've abbreviated your response for space sake. Couple of things: 1. Yes we've had 3 years of culture building and we've already had more way more success that the previous 17 years. You sound like culture is a burden. Culture is necessary and I like supporting a winning team. 2. I live in Atlanta. I hear the talk and the talk and the talk. The Falcons are all talk. They are a soft bend AND break team that lacks a winning culture. Bonus point: I get that players want to win and speak out as a result. That is great and needed but needs to be kept internal and in the locker room. I'm not saying that Diggs is not a team player, I'm saying that he needs to be if we are going to see the kind of jump that his talent makes possible.
  21. Agreed, this is different from the Rex days. I've been saying that for years. It reminds me a lot of the Polian years and how he and Marv built that team. All I'm saying is I've seen people from all walks of life get derailed by placing too much stock in early success. I'm not saying that's going to happen here with McBeane, in fact that's a danger McDermott talks about all the time and the need to keep working. If you haven't grasped how critical culture is to the success of a team then you've missed how teams like the Steelers, Patriots produce year in year out. We are where we are today because the Bills have changed the culture. If you are going to come back with those teams have great quarterbacks I'd remind you how the Steelers challenged for a playoff spot last year with the Duck, and how the Pats went 3-1 when Brady was suspended in 2015. The Falcons have a talented QB but their results don't measure up to his potential. If Diggs buys in to the team first culture and does create distractions (because he thinks he isn't getting enough catches) then he'll be an excellent addition. I'm not saying he won't but until he does I can't say that he has bought in.
  22. Diggs is a great add on paper. If he buys in to the process he can be a difference maker for sure.
