He’s a solid backup. Wouldn’t lean on him being a starter for any team but stranger things have happened and we’ve seen plenty similar situations over the course of history where a guy earns another job for a team needing someone at that position. They’re still in the mix so major kudos to him if he can get them in, regardless of it turns out to be a 1 and done.

Maybe you watched a different game but the Chiefs, Raiders and Oilers were always around 10 wins that SB run… You had Miami, San Diego and Denver with a couple good years too; just not consistent to reach the top. The NFC was the absolute best, yes but that Central division was bogus more often than not.

Someone said to me in a conversation the other day when I mentioned what you have also said, “they’ll hesitate on way more calls”. My response being that is probably something you want. Them being entirely sure that the correct call is being made. I can’t believe they make the refereeing gig a full time job as all the nuances that go along with it from the NFL’s standpoint so the most beneficial was to prevent errors is dock them monetarily for incorrect calls. Especially the egregiously wrong ones. Better yet, if they have a review panel like we are led to believe, how are so many blatant calls missed whether they pocket the flag or change the call incorrectly several times. They can’t all be Mike Carey or John Parry but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be the expectation.
