  1. Seriously, that is no good. Poor guy. Poor dog. Someone post if they find him.
  2. Blah, blah, blah. This guy is one of many copying and pasting the same article again and again.
  3. From looking at him you would never think Elite Wr, but he was. I wouldn't want to make Mr. Smith mad, not ever, so if he's reading this right now. You're the best!
  4. It's nearly impossible to grade a coach after two years with all of the roster turnover. And frankly how do you grade coach and not grade a coach as a coach-GM team. It's about the Johns and the Joes, not the X's and O's, right?
  5. I think the fact that this regime took Singletary so high means he really must have impressed. His competition in college wasn't great, but he looks special like he has instincts that are exceptional. If he can catch, too, then Singletary could be special. He has a lot of upside. I would say 80% of running backs are the same, so finding a special one isn't easy, and worst case we're out a No. 74 pick. I know I sound like an old guy, but can he block. He isn't big. And a quick hitting third down back is great, but to be truly special he needs to be able to stay on the field for 3 downs.
  6. Thanks for the summary. Is there a link to the segment anywhere? Sorry I missed it.
  7. This reminds me of some of the things I've heard about Pete Carol. The thing is though, there are so many types of winning coaches. Tony Dungy, Bill Parcells, Pederson, I think they are all type A people, but they go about it differently. By itself his being interested in self-improvement probably just means McD is an interesting guy with at least slightly above average intelligence which makes him one of maybe a billion or two people. I'm not knocking it. I just want to see wins. I don't care if he reads Dr. Seuse every day.
  8. I'm trying so hard not to drink the cool aide, but I'm feeling really thirsty. Could Josh be for real? Could a turn around finally be for real?
  9. Good stuff. I like him so much better than his dad.
  10. Was there a chance the foot was sore ahead of time, and Beane had heightened concerns and that's why he has so many Tightends on the roster?
  11. Rediculouos pandering by media trying to get cheap clicks. This!
  12. I think the trend in the league is to put more of your run blockers on the right. While teams want to be flexible, I think better pass blockers, even at the guard position, stay on the left with right handed QBs.
  13. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/05/20/25-ways-improve-nfl-fmia-peter-king/ This was an interesting article with some good and dumb ideas about how to improve the league. I have to agree with the people who mentioned onside kickoffs. I think the league has to do something to improve the odds of a successful onside try. Right now, there is a lot less drama at the end of games. I actually liked what the AAFL did with onside tries which was something like this: If the team that just scored trails by 17 or more points or if the team that just scored trails by any amount with fewer than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, that team can choose to try to convert a fourth-and-12 play from its own 28. If the team gains 12 or more yards in that one play, it keeps possession. If it doesn’t, the other team takes possession.
  14. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/05/20/colts-sign-quarterback-chad-kelly/ I think he has so much talent. I hope he puts it all together.
  15. He's also a strong chess player. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/this-ex-nfl-player-is-on-a-mission-to-become-a-chessmaster_n_5a7a0cd1e4b0d0ef3c0a26d9
  16. I dont know, but I think he's at a huge disadvantage having not grown up playing American football. In fact I hope I'm 100 percent wrong and the guy is a diamond, but, as I'm sure you realize, it is a super long shot. And again, in my opinion, so much that looks like God given ability is often a combination of natural ability and just a ton of hardwork and experience that looks like it is natural . Often great athletes that seem to be so naturally gifted may be operating at a high level as the result, partly, of some really deep brain learning that comes out as lightning quick reaction and finely tuned coordination, but in reality it is the result of a whole lot of reps. Like feeling which way a runner behind you is choosing to cut, where to place your hands when blocking, reading subtle tells from a would be tackler, etc. Then add doing it all in pads and a helmet with new rules, and building the requisite high level skillset becomes an uphill climb. Our intuition is a great example of this. People in all walks of life do genious level things without knowing how we did it, because subconsciously our minds are processing input from all of our senses all at once. In my opinion this type of processing for high level sports requires a lot of talent and a lot of experience. If anyone could make the jump, it could be a rugby player. He looks great playing rugby, but he makes the team as a special teamer, if he ever plays, and there's a lot of football sense that goes into that. Again, I dont think my take is controversial. I'm sure he is a great guy. I just think an NFL caliber player needs a lot of reps to have strong football skills.
  17. I totally agree that Rugby might be close enough. Here's hoping.
  18. When I say instincts, I mean a feel for the game that comes from playing the game. The way you react, and make sudden movements and the reliance on muscle memory all come from playing the game starting at a very young age. I'd love to be wrong.
  19. While I love this guy's tape, I think projects like Wade are novelties. I would love to find a hidden gem, but all of the talent in the world wont make up for the lack of instincts and muscle memory that an NFL caliber player typically has earned since playing football since he was 5. Exceptions prove the rule of course, but in general the gap is just so wide projects like Wade just are a waste of time and energy. Maybe he makes sense from a PR standpoint, but it is likely all flash and no fire.
  20. I think if we had kept incognito and Wood it would have meant another win or two. Talent was 90 percent of the issue. Position coaches matter, but let's not overvalue them.
  21. The more flexibility at the line the better IF the QB makes the right calls. That may come in time, but JA has to walk before he runs.
