  1. It’s too soon to tell, and it’s harder to make an instant impact on a good team. (Despite the sentiment here, we ARE a good team.) I think we should wait a year or two before judging.
  2. He is self-admitted or I wouldn’t have ventured there. I mean, I’ve never had anybody crap on my desk, but I don’t have a lot of friends either. Maybe there is a middle ground? 🤷‍♂️
  3. Have any of them slept on (or been alone with) your mattress? The dog may be off the hook.
  4. It is a miracle that we are not seeing absolutely catastrophic casualty reports. .
  5. The funny thing is, the lack of general, basic charm and decency actually makes things more difficult for the miserable employee. People pick up your vibe and reflect it in some way. If the encounter starts as miserable, you probably get some miserable back. Prior to Covid I thought I knew what my wife did for a living. Since then I have learned that I had no idea what she was doing at work, or at least HOW she did it. I would listen to her all day long being cheery and upbeat and encouraging. She puts her foot down when necessary, but for the most part people feel better after talking to her. It got to where her recently retired boss would call her often on Friday afternoons for no particular reason, she just wanted to feel better going into the weekend. When my wife comes downstairs for a few minutes I get her “actual mood”. It’s OK, I get it. Part of work is making things around you better. Part of being a spouse is understanding and letting it roll. Full disclosure here, I think her attitude affects how I read and react on TBD. We don’t have a lot of negativity around the house. If I start complaining she will say “Fine, what are you going to do about it? How do we fix this?” If it can’t be fixed, we find the best way to deal with it, but complaining in the absence of providing solutions can be just annoying.
  6. You have friends??? 😊
  7. He is “special” that way. He’s the reason I didn’t fear the Bengals long term. They caught lightning in a bottle, but he won’t pay to keep the pieces they will need to re-sign.
  8. Rub some dirt on it! 😂
  9. I think my son played 3rd violin in middle school…..and the first 2 chairs were empty. 😂 It was a huge relief when he gave that up!
  10. I hope it’s not 4.6% now! We could be in serious trouble here! Maybe this thread should be closed out of an abundance of caution? That may save us!
  11. Except here of course. Right??? 😊
  12. As to the bold, I think both of those things can be true. 😊 I think back to the heart of the Covid times and how places were lucky just to have any employees show up to work. I remember restaurants operating at less than half capacity because they didn’t have workers and signs that said something like “Please be nice to the workers, they are the ones who showed up.” EDIT: Just adding that a guy on my college hoops board does blue collar recruiting for a major national company and they couldn’t hire people. There was a terrible shortage of labor so they did a survey and learned that the average person for that type of job actually made a bit more money sitting at home collecting stimulus checks. I hope it’s not a problem to mention that. There is a sense of entitlement out there that I don’t understand. My wife hired the daughter of some close friends. Very bright young lady with multiple Masters degrees. My wife needed her to do certain things, but what the young lady really enjoyed was the technology side. She spent so much time on the tech stuff my wife didn’t always get what SHE (the boss) needed. I would have been afraid if I wasn’t making the boss happy. Not this girl. She was upset that they were cutting into her tech time. The wife eventually transferred her to the tech side, where they eventually got tired of her entitled attitude and sh!tcanned her ass. .
  13. I think that’s why we do it. We like to be consistent. 😊 Actually, even after week one it’s hard to say exactly what each team will be, and they could look like different teams over the course of the season. Fingers crossed for next year. If the Steeler’s “home game” in Dublin happens to be against the Bills, I’d have to give that serious consideration! .
  14. I’m afraid you are wasting your keystrokes. Some people are determined to hate on the current regime. They want to hurry up and start hating on the next regime!
  15. I think OSU might have the most legit NFL players in the state! 😊
  16. I love the concept, but as always it depends on the price. I chuckle at how easy it is for us to sit here in our recliners and call for this or that. You need value and reasonable people on the other end. I’m not sure if I’d love or hate dealing with Cleveland! 😂
  17. In an ideal world it would be both.
  18. I would love to know what percentage of the team each principal owner has across the league. I’m sure there is a minimum percentage they must maintain, and I wonder what that is. It seems to be becoming more prevalent for estate planning and liquidity reasons, but I remember some celebrity minority owners going way back, I think.
  19. Which is still irrelevant to any game we will play next season.
  20. The bold is totally non-responsive to anything I have posted. Where did that come from? What are you talking about? I like making decisions based upon the most current information available. If the situation changes my opinion may as well.
  21. I hear @HOUSE is preparing an offer. I expect it to be on the low side.
  22. What kind of numbers are you making up now. I can tell you that your numbers will not decide a single game next year. There is no point in this. There are a whole lot of people here I would NEVER go into business with. They seem too emotionally attached to see things clearly. This has gotten old.
  23. I’m quoting this…..because I can.
  24. I think “likely” is more accurate than “possible”. Only Reid has done better over the last 5 years. That is the problem. .
