  1. A former 6th round draft pick who has earned well north of $50 Million certainly gets my respect!
  2. Tyrod had his lung in the wrong place, at the wrong time. That has to be part of this story, because it’s just so crazy. He was serviceable, but with limitations. I like the guy because he bet on himself. I believe he was offered more to be a backup elsewhere, but he wanted a chance to start. I admire the attitude! .
  3. He only had $80 into it, but I’m not sure if that was one or two seats. I saw her with the same guy at the Botanical Gardens in Piedmont Park a few years ago. It’s not exactly my dream show, but they sold wine by the bottle(s) and we both had a good time. 🍷 This guy is a serial concert attendee. He buys tix for almost every show when they are announced, then if he can’t make it or isn’t in the mood come concert time, he sells them or gives them away. He gave my son and DIL about $650 worth of Kenny Chesney tix recently. He sent me video from a Clapton show where he had to be filming right over my shoulder but neither us knew the other was there!
  4. A friend has tix to see Sheryl Crow at the Chastain Park Amphitheater tomorrow night. He was hoping to sell his tix, but looks like it’s only about 25% sold out in the first place. Oops! Sounds like a toss up between intimate and awkward.
  5. I could go with Ahmad Rashad catching the winning TD vs the Raiders on Monday Night Football, or some NCAA Tournament games that were insane. USA Olympic Hockey in 1980, so many options. I’ll go with this, because it was dramatic, and it was a moment: Our younger son played AAU (up a year) and rec league baseball. He was a very capable player at short stop. The kid at third had been hit in the head by a pitch to end the previous game. First inning and a ball gets popped up to third. Everybody there could sense the dread this kid had after getting hit. My son slid over, slowly put his right hand on the left shoulder of the kid at third, and caught the ball. Threw it back in, the game went on but it was my favorite thing I ever saw one of my kids do in all their years of sports, and they were really good. Better to be good at life than at sports. .
  6. Very cute. Obvious, but cute. I’d prefer a young QB to an aging QB who admits he’s not fully committed to the sport and is on a series of three one year deals. Oh, and he demanded the most money possible, handcuffing the team from improving the roster to…..ya know…..WIN! I’d prefer a guy with actual NFL experience as my backup, not the guy who was drafted to replace the guy, but couldn’t earn the job. I enjoyed the locals when I went for the Green Bay game a few years ago. They would say “welcome to Wisconsin!” Most of them were very classy. But there are always exceptions. Have a nice life.
  7. That’s actually pretty funny, coming from Packer Nation. You have some interesting QB room dynamics as well. At least our guy has seen an NFL field. Don’t love it, gonna have to trust it. How many teams in the league are not in serious trouble if they lose their starting QB? I’d say just the teams that don’t have a franchise QB (with or without a man bun).
  8. I consider the mail carrier arriving a holiday, and of course we have holy wine on Sundays. I’m pretty well covered. When I lived in SC, the entire state had one area code. Atlanta has at least 4-5 area codes, in one city. That alone tells me I live in a place too big for my liking. I guess the upside is lots of celebrating!
  9. I think he likes you. Unrequited love is painful. Please try to be easy on him. IDK, maybe I misread this situation. Wouldn’t be the first time. 🤷‍♂️
  10. Why must we live with such strict limitations?
  11. One of these threads had some guy’s phone video from up top that gave me vertigo just looking at it on my iPad! I don’t want to need a Sherpa to get to my seats! My dad was up in years and not great health when we took him and our boys to an Orlando Magic game (I think in an old arena now replaced). He didn’t dare have any food or drink for fear he’d have to navigate those steep steps to get to a restroom. We were in the top row, and I swore I’d never make that mistake again! It was a last minute deal so we took the seats we could get, wondering how bad could it be? Answer: VERY! That took ALL the fun out of it. I trust our Bills to do a fine job with the new stadium. As I’ve said all along, I don’t care where the stadium is or whether it’s covered. They remain in WNY, and I’m happy!
  12. A decade ago+ I flew in as a single and sat next to a single Jet fan in for the game. He was a “kid” compared to me, but a nice kid and barely old enough to buy beer. He was, of course, in full Jets gear. The Jets started hot, and he was SUPER LOUD. We talked nicely, at first. Then it got more stern, father to son stuff. “Look, I don’t care what you yell, but when the beer thrown at YOU hits ME, we ALL got issues!” I think I saw fear in his eyes. I’m not a scary guy but he realized there were limits. He calmed, Bills won, and life was good. As far as your dad in a Vikes hat, I’d expect something closer to what I heard often in Green Bay when the Bills played there a few years back: “Welcome to Wisconsin.” If I make that game (result of my son’s BDay treat from his wife) I’d love to meet you, your dad and to shake his Viking hand!
  13. To be fair, I heard Josh gave him a swirly back in high school.
  14. He is one more guy I’d love to have back some day. Even if it’s after his playing days, but in some way.
  15. The last part sounds more like mushrooms than beer. Just sayin’. 🤷‍♂️ I may have had a split for every person in China, but I’m honestly not sure if I ever had a full size OV, or even knew they existed!
  16. Incredibly sad. I never minded driving around town during heavy snow, but long distance on the highways would freak me out! I was returning from my uncle’s funeral (of all things, Buffalo to Cincinnati) with my nuclear family in the car at night along the lake. You know it’s bad, but there is nowhere to safely go. I was the only one awake. You can’t just pull over or you’ll get crushed from behind. Hell, I didn’t even know where “over” was! I could barely see the hood of the car! I was driving by feel with those bump/lane dividers. At one point we went down a big swale and thought we were off the road, but then cruised past a stop sign. It was an exit that I got off on, then unfortunately was back on the highway before I could just hunker down. My mother woke up and said words that cannot be repeated here. We all lived, but the PTSD remains. That is some frightening stuff, and it left it’s mark on me. But this isn’t about me, it’s about those poor people going thru this tragic event. Prayers to those affected in any way. .
  17. But wait! There are exceptions! Put him in a #55 jersey that says “HUGHES” across the back, and all is fair game! .
  18. I was going to say curling, but you make a good point. Curling has to be second. I grew up watching curling on one of my three channels as a kid. Happy times!
  19. I’m afraid it’s a vicious cycle, a chicken AND the egg kinda thing. He needs to be mentally healthy as well as sober, and they go hand in hand. It’s tough, but I will pray for the best for him. We have a little too much experience with how tricky that balancing act can be.
  20. I have DTV Streaming for regular cable TV (thru Apple TV) AND a dish for Sunday Ticket. My son is in a new house with no dish, and somehow he still gets to watch ST by streaming. I don’t know if he has my log-in or somebody else’s, but it definitely works somehow. What I have is overkill, but at least DTV Streaming works, while cable did not. AT&T is hot garbage for cable as all the old UVerse boxes are just refurbished junk. They wouldn’t work straight out of the box. They no longer make or support UVerse boxes, so I’m just glad to have something that works! How’s that for a satisfied customer? “Refreshing. At least this works.” What a ringing endorsement…….. 🙄
  21. Having drawn interest I suspect similar to what Richie is currently receiving, I am announcing that I too have decided to retire.
  22. The Steelers have rings. Ben happened to be a Steeler. He is NOT Josh Allen. In so many ways.
  23. HA! By all means, let them take the “what ya’ got left? I’ll have THAT!” approach!!!
  24. I think the real question is how much worse would they have been without him? Maybe one play at a critical time? Maybe in a certain playoff game??? I don’t blame the guy for wanting to get paid. I’m just glad this is the Chief’s problem. This one appears to have been misplayed by KC who gave up all their leverage without locking the player down. This does not feel very “Beane-esque”.
  25. If only @HOUSE could remember where he parked the damn car! HINT: your phone will help you with that. I’m not too ashamed to say I’ve used that map feature. It has saved me from having to wait until there was only one car left in the parking lot. KC gave up too much to just walk away, painting themselves into a corner. What kind of meltdown would we have here if Beane made a move like that? He’d have to go into WitSec! .
