Spencer Brown Injury Concern
BillsShredder83 replied to vtnatefootball11's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think plenty are in the camp of, although the guy has sucked Beane has repeatedly gone to bat for the guy, they must be seeing something were not. Prior to reports 2 days in a row (Astro said something about watching him get up gingerly, the way an old man does, off the field. Now hes seen unable to get his helmet) we at least had a sense of hope... if this is how hes moving after 3 days of padded practice, how is he going to look by week 10 -

What we were all hoping for here was to not only see him not be hurt, but to rise up and TAKE the starting role. Its early, but reports have been he has not played well. While that part may or not be totally true, we def have heard nothing to make us think hes gone in, improved his play and put him in position where he cant be taken off the field. Winning and 'not losing' it arent the same thing, and we needed the first. Its early in camp and id rather not wait till week 2 to figure out what were going to do in emergency. Its time to start turning over rocks, which we can do while still hoping for the best. The Lee Smith idea wasnt to offer him starting RT job lol but I think for starters we better make sure we have a block first TE on the roster to help out whoever is starting at RT.... not sure if we have that in Gilliam or Morris. -

This should absolutely be on the table. He had a great season, then sucked the next lol idk what the problem was but maybe we get lucky with him (again) -
Or "that guy in Cinci"....... like he said, i "must not watch other teams"..... hes the same guy that will say "yards are yards" and be completely oblivious to the fact that Tee having an extra 25 catches, despite "similar" yardage means, helping keep his QB off his back, helping his #1 avoid bracketing, opening things up for your slot, a chit ton of 1st downs that keep drives alive (our biggest offensive struggle last year

Torrence was strictly a guard, and even if Bates beats him out I want him focused at playing the spot he was drafted to play. Have to hope someone decent shakes free after cuts, but hard to imagine it being anyone to get excited about Thought here.... Whats Lee Smith up to? At this point I think were already in an emergency at the position. An elite blocking '3rd Tackle' TE is probably our best bet to try and help out whoever is over there -
NO CAMP TODAY?

IS THIS EVEN ON THE TABLE???? cool site feature with the head to head!

Torrence is the best news out of week one

Is Shell that bad? I dunno anything about him but I was not a Q fan last year. And the year before we got him he gave up a league worst amount of sacks if I'm remembering right Side note @NastyNateSoldiers you're tied for my fav poster name on the board lol makes me laugh everytime (tied with 'not at the table karlos' 😅) -

so youll call it another successful year for Gabe and be cool handing him a fat contract if he has another year like that then right?
-
Wrong. You're the one in denial if you think Gabe is even in the same ballpark as 2 guys you listed that are bordering #1 WRs. Having more than half your games with 2 catches for under 35-40yds is a #3 WR at best. A #2 needs to find a way to contribute. Gabe does nothing with the field Diggs opens up for him, and went over 100yards once. Gabe contribution was to let Stef get bracketed, consequence free. Not help move the chains, and generate incompletions (and 6 ints thrown his way on 48 catches because he cant separate).

delusional take. quit looking at his whole season stats to evaluate his season. dude was the invisible man for 8+games last year. he padded his season stats and helped us beat Pitt by 3 scores instead of 2. WOW, what a game changer. What about the 8+ games where he had 2-3receptions and under 30 freaking yards circled in red are unacceptable.... 8 of his 15 games were atrocious.... but yes, give me Gabe over Waddle or Higgins eyerolllllllllllllllllllllll dude is a drive killer, the thing we had no problems with in 2020 our best offensive year

who was the white guy from around Dareus rookie year i think it was lol him too also marcus easley

Training Camp 7/31 9:45 AM - Full pads this week

fast twitch versus slow twitch build is a possible explanation to this. not saying it is, but possible fighters tend to have this type of build, where they look wirey and have crazy strength. bulk isnt your friend in fight world, these guys know how to stay slim and strong -
thank goodness he will be TE only by name and will be in the slot more than half his snaps.... out of his in line snaps, id bet 70% of those hes lined up as the F (flex TE). Him and Knox play diff positions at this point, but youd know that if you dug below the most surface level scout report +4500 on fanduel not to mention im already sensing Knox will be helping out Spencer again a lot this year

hell, i like this a bunch. if damar gets cut or our guys stay healthy i could see Tua (#2 odds) winning. Might round robin Tua with Josh, Mahomes and Burrow!

Stubhub isn't as reliable as it used to be

Side note: Im unsure about Bills specifically, but the "GameTime" app has been my fav ticket vendor for a while now! I forget exactly how i did it, but i added tix to my cart, and then let it time out..... 24hrs later i had an email saying "oops u forgot" and it was like 20% off. i was buying them eiother way, just got distracted... these were for Hornets tickets and NC State game last year. cant speak on NFL -

2 words CHARGE. BACK. call your bank, they absolutely will not get this straightened out, and act like they did everything they could (except refund you). basically a numbers game, if you force 10 customers to call your bluff, maybe 2 charge back. with all the fair transactions that go through they keep a low charge back rate, and merchant acct is fine. they do not care as this makes them money. CHARGE-IT-BACK. these companies are s###! if it were me, id go with the seats you have, and then charge back with your bank the next day -
We've had no running game, due to inefficiency and lack of attempts... if youre going to operate that way you need a chain mover, so crucial to this offense. in 2020 cole had 53 first down catches, good for ~15th in league. if i had to single out one stat that i think adds the most firepower to the offense, it would be this DK having 35-40 1st downs seems like a realistic healthy goal to me..... anything over that is icing on the cake
-
lol looks like a lot that way too!!! but love the optimism. i want in on this fun exercise looks like a lot, but all he has to do is average 13ypc, .11 td's/catch, and average 8 targets a game @ 63% catch rate, only 17xs this regular season haha reallt im not being critical, i just think you made a difficult task sound even harder than it already was

Outside of MLB, Where are the Bills Worse in 2023?
BillsShredder83 replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
I didn't want to pay the man, but pretending he didn't eat up 66.6% of the field from the middle, is going to be a wake up call for a lot of us. That said, $1 spent on the offense adds the same amount of points, that $2 keeps off the board, and is more reliable production (IMO). We don't need a world class defense. Create pressure. Get some stops. Force some mistakes by playing a bit loose, and that'll be enough to get the job done -
I dunno why this is being attacked as unreasonable. All these are more relevant than stats. Game in, game out, "did the defense do its job today." We're we getting pressure? Stopping drives? Struggling on 3rd and long? Did we keep or lose containment all day? OK we got gashed by the run today on paper, but we were up 2 scores all day, when the offense was hot, and sold out to stop the pass? All this ^^^, in the context of a game is much more relevant than chalking everything up to #3 scoring defense. Heck you're admitting that the defense did not look the same in the playoffs, as we looked on paper during regular season.... did you use stats to come up with that? Orrrrr feelings, emotions and perception? Weird to condemn the eyeball test when it goes against you, but embrace it when it goes with you.
