  1. Also LAC or DENVER landing him would be a giant Win in my book. I get it, its in the AFC, but I think some extra heat in that division helps us more than it hampers us. Put it this way, if they can help push KC out of the #1 spot and give us a buy, I'll gladly play one of those teams + Parsons in the 2nd round if it means Chiefs @ Home + Bye Week
  2. Its steep but that means its realistic. Im saying this the first time ever -- Josh isnt getting any younger, we're in as good of shape as ever to go all-in. I still believe Josh brings us multiple Lombardi's, but that first one is the most pesky. Get that experience of winning for him and the rest of the roster & coaching staff, and i truly believe it becomes contagious to all stepping in the locker room afterwards.... even if theyre 3rd rd picks bc we got Parsons!!! Unload $$, and gotta give something to get it. Which is going to give us a better chance in playoffs? Micah or 'Mr. September"? Im fine with it, let them feel like they got their win too. Regular season W's still mean more to JJ as Playoffs anyways
  3. Yep, thats huge^^^. Not to mention a full extra week to gameplan YOUR scheme, and against the team(s) you're most likely to play. Even in the 2 years we went to AFCCG, we were massively banged up; 2021 Beasley was the huge one, but IIRC it was also Diggs and Jon Brown (this one im least confident on). Last year ive blocked out, but I know there were a boatload including Bernard (Benford got hurt in game, so no help there). Not only is it an extra week to rest up, but avoiding a game of potential injuries, and reducing wear and tear (effects availability and performance even when avail) when everyone on all teams is dealing with something, after already expanding to 17 games regular season. Theres also morale boost. Its enormous. With how narrow the margin of error is, a week of and playing in Buff vs in KC, id feel pretty damn safe saying we would've got over KC in one of those games, had we had the 1 seed.
  4. Im not a fan, but i cant say i hate them. Theres some cool details with the inscription inside the collar and the flaky/metallic grey stripe on helmet. Theres a huge demand for these, and obv the diehard fans arent going to quit watching because of it, so its all 'up$ide' for the NFL. I like the idea, just needs some better execution. Kind of excited to see some of the bad ones that come out lol
  5. Gotta Nair them badboizzz!!! Smooth as eggs
  6. Hawes made him pretty expendable IMO. One can block & catch, the other def cant block and was brutal at catching the ball. Really freaking stoked to have LeeSmith2.0 (now includes hands & route running!!!)
  7. Did Codrington get cut? I saw someone say in the 'dissappointing cuts' thread? Hoping they were confusing him with Shenault somehow? If it is true who the heck is our KR/PR?
  8. Whoa i missed this! Whos our returner? Shenault got cut too didnt he?
  9. Wow! Its come a long way. When theres no such thing as farm teams, in a billion $ market x 32, this makes so much sense to have!! Kinda feel like they should expand it!!! Maye an extra 5-10 spots for young guys with 4 years or less experience. If they want to keep teams from abusing the extra part of the roster, designate the extra 5-10 spots as "redshirt". Just a place for guys to latch on somewhere and develop. Plenty of players would love that, teams would too, and it'd be good for the sport overall IMO. We need more real talent in the NFL, and throwing away 99.5% of all college players surely isnt helping that. Will any franchise QB's develop outta that? Probably not, but OL talent for example, has been falling league wide for a while now. I fail to see a real downside unless the XFL/UFL thing ever materializes.
  10. Interesting but they felt stacked enough to let him go AND trade theilen today... I thought that report was nuts but Minny gave them an offer they'd have been nuts to turn down, especially considering its 1 year rental. Id kick tires on renfrow though. Feels pretty redundant in that room for us though
  11. He ain't leaving. Its been covered ad nauseum. Hes already committed to the high road by redshirting and NOT hitting the transfer portal; where he could've got a boatload of money and started last year. Hes not doing all that to take a short cut. Hes been mature enough to take a ton of advice from family on developing himself the right way. Hes started 2 college games, and saw 2-3 snaps in 2-3 other games. Hes not ready. Even if he can go #1 overall, it doesn't make for the best long term career decision. Get 2 years of college experience and adjust to that playspeed before going to the NFL.
  12. Wait is Hairston on the 4 week IR??
  13. I dunno why people are acting like the sky is falling. He meets several needs from a backup. Cheap. Able to learn our system (knows it). System fit. Locker room leader. I dunno many teams with no dropoff for backup players, they aren't supposed to be world beaters. Our system seems to value smart players more than someone negligibly more athletic (again, backup pool were picking from). Jordan can hold down the fort in a game here or there better than anybody else we can pick up at this point. Its not earth shattering breaking news, we got a high floor backup... cool. Let's move on
  14. We traded him for Skelton 🙃
  15. The knock we've all seen is failure to keep his pads low. What keeps running through my mind is that back injury. Obv its healed, but wonder if theres a mental barrier thet guys returning off injury have. Acl guys tend to not want to do the explosive cuts they did pre-injury, without even realizing it from what I've heard... like they're continuing to protect it. Some extra reps with Larry O out early season could be exactly what the doctor ordered for his mental recovery. Just my 2cents
  16. Where do you get these condensed? NFLN+ or whatever? I had it 2 years ago. Was never able to login the entire season amd had to file a dispute with my CC company lol Did they figure this out?
  17. Bingo lol that was the one I was looking for 🤣🤣🤣 could not remember what that thread was about if it wasn't Stef
  18. Bingo. Id like to have seen a better performance, but I always look back to a moment I learned something about pre-season, and the veil was lifted. I remember a young Ronald Darby as a rookie, getting absolutely TOASTEDDDDDD during a pre-season game. The sky was falling for me and the homies.... and then I learned that not only is there no game-planning for these games.... but that Rex had intentionally fed him to the wolves. Not just being asked to matchup against WR's clearly above his paygrade, but Rex had game planned to roll safety help AWAY from the rookie, intentionally leaving him out on an island. Intentionally putting a player in a worst case scenario, to see how he reacts/holds up. Mightve been some humbling going on too. I wont say I know much more about pre-season 'strategy', but that made a boatload of sense to me. For every one thing the average fan knows about behind the scenes, there are 10 more we dont. I think we all know about the crazy amount of time that goes into prepping for an opponent during the week. We also know about the CBA deal squashing 2 a days, and total camp days, and hours practicing per day. Camp is to get your players up to speed with the playbook, get them an overall feel for his role. There just isnt enough time in the world to do both these things at the same time as game-plan the way they do during regular season, especially not under the CBA Agreement the players are under.
  19. 1. Get him acclimated during the first 4 weeks with an average normal snap count. Hope he looks awesome. 2. Next 8 weeks, dude should not/can not see the field on any down that isnt 3rd/4th.... limit them situationally in the 1st half of game. Q3/Q4 you can elevate or reduce those as needed 3. Last 4-5 weeks... get him back up to speed again. I want him in game shape, and making sure he doesnt have rust. Evaluate, how those snaps look, increase/decrease as prescribed. S*** happens and I know it cant be followed exactly, but this is the template IMO. He's a one year rental here, we know who he is on the field as a player and should trust that.... thats why we signed him after all. In the healthiest way possible I have no expectations for him. Thats how he should be treated IMO, dude is icing on the cake. Everyone else needs to pull their weight and look good enough to not NEED a Bosa to win a Chip. Treat it almost like he isnt even there. All his rested snaps will help to season all the other young guys we need to be hitting full stride come playoff time! Please baby Jesus!!
  20. Here we go with this argument again LOL an all time low around here hahahaha
  21. The facility? Dunno. Been KC is one of the more drug rattled cities in the midwest. I dont think thats an odd request from Reid LOL its what id ask for, especially if not knowing what the cause was
  22. Why would Carolina do this is my question. You have a pretty make or break year with a young guy you took #1 overall, who looked to have righted the ship last year. Year 3 was the year Josh went from an interesting player, to obvious franchise piece. No way Id part with Thielen, a guy who he had great chemistry with, if Im Carolina. Whats the upside of a Thielen Trade? 6th rounder? Nah, beat feet Minny
  23. In fairness, as a fan I would prefer this mentality. Its a competitive league. Im not saying full on Bounty Program or Spygate, but if there are grey areas to get any type of advantage in..... yes, game the system.
  24. Hes g2 be coming up in contract, where they know they cant/wont retain him. Especially if theyre trying to finagle room for Scary Terry. *Edit* Second thought, isn't he from the DC Area and got shot rookie off season. I never heard anything about him being a part of anything shady, but maybe hes got some street beefs for affiliating (or refusing to affiliate) with the wrong crowd. Fully speculative, but reasonable question IMO. #2 could be fully off base, or it could be some combo of thought #1&2
  25. That can happen in a 5 on 5 sport with a shallow roster, and the ability of one star to change a franchises future for 10+ years. A franchise qb can have a huge effect on a franchise, but nowhere near the effect one FA signing in NBA can afford. Look no further than Burrow! If league hard resets today, hes a top 3 pick. Sure they've benefited from him... but compare his effect to the NBA. How many singular guys could sing be more valuable to a teams future, compared to his on an NFL team. There's got to be 30+ guys in the NBA that would change a franchises win% more than a Burrow does the NFL. Its never happening.
