The way the Dolphins spend towards the cap has left them with a NEGATIVE position. They have continually made Suh type of splashes in the wrong areas. We have a little thing called the cap and you can't have 32% tied up by DL and still be strong other places. If they have to get rid of talent like Landry and Suh perhaps Tannehill , replacing them with 11Million cap hit for a guy with durability issues and avg of less than 6 sacks/year the last 3 yrs, I'm sorry it is not a good move. And, I don't care if it didn't require much draft capital. This is the kind of move the Bills used to make and won't now. Quinn is not worthy of that type of cap hit. This is why teams like Miami and Tannenbaum never win Super Bowls. The record for cap hit by DL by a SB Winner is 8% by Warren Sapp and Reggie White. The Suh deal was such a joke when they made it because he doesn't have the kind of impact that merits it. Even a 6% hit like Quinn is reserved for the truly elite pass rushers in my book. When Denver won the SB they had Miller and Ware at about 5.5% each. Miller is now like 11-12% and is it questionable whether that model works for them now.

Never Trade Up -- Here's Why
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good topic. You have come up with perhaps some decision rules yourself.....teams know them already. Saying that you should NEVER trade up is a huge leap though. Do you need a QB in the NFL? Of course and the record shows that moving up into the TOP 5 is the best way to get one. On occasion you might get very lucky in the first 2-3 rounds or with Brady later. But, in the last 10 years name another QB who was picked after the 75th pick (Wilson)? Another decision rule may be you only do it for a QB or a franchise changing player who is that one player you need. As for the risk management argument, if you trade back enough you minimize your risk but end up with all 7th round picks. At some point you need to get some skin in the game and try to get that guy. Guaranteed success? No, but it doesn't send your team to bankruptcy and kill it. It sets you back perhaps and you move on. You can hedge your bet by taking a second QB a year or two later in the first 3 rounds. -
Bills stay where they are and draft Sutton the WR from SMU and Ragnow the C from Arkansas (this one is better Orlando Brown )with 21&22. Oh and TT stays as QB.

I just watched the end of the RB combine session with Mayock. I 'm started to think the sweet spot for us may be number 5 for Rosen, and that we should hope Denver gets Cousins. Mayock said he thinks the Giants QB is either Darnold or Allen and it may well be addressed. So...Browns take Barkley &Darnold, Giants take Allen, Colts take Chubb I felt for awhile now that McCarron/ Cousins end up with Vikings/ Broncos. -
Who will be the #2 RB?
