  1. You forgot one VERY IMPORTANT PIECE. The o line and run game WAS WORKING for the first time this year. Everything people have complained about since forever this regime WORKED! and the qb didnt. I find it funny EJ got benched after playing JJ Watt and getting hit what was it? 11 times? Im all for Orton playing.... let me rephrase... Was all for Orton playing as long as we had a good shot at the playoffs. But when that window closes lets not worry. A new coach likes his own "guy" at qb. So I have faith that the next coach wont have the IQ of a peanut and William a vision of the offense he wants to run and get guys here that can execute. I know he better not stray far from the pettine schwartz style defenses. They work. EJ was never going to work in buffalo under Marrone. He is more along the lines of cam newton backup material. The boy can run. And he has an arm. Lets see if he could work in that style o. Only problem the line is swiss cheese. Who is a line guru. Can some on tell me if this line is built more for zone blocking or man blocking. Is it even salvageable. Im ranting. But take from this post what you want.
  2. In talking with Dareus I think it be the other way. I just gr8 the impression he has no loyalty to buffalo. Understandable. He will not stop until he is the highest paid DT and i wouldn't be shocked if he wanted to be the highest paid DL on whatever team he goes to.
  3. It's still a different system players. Once they figure out where his reads are. Who he is comfortable throwing to. How his cadence goes. Then you will see if it's s rebirth. He had a good enough line in N.Y. to show something
  4. I will have to say it again. Evaluate once opposing defenses get the book on him.
  5. What about 4 5 6? There is ZERO reasoning behind Williams not playing. Especially when you are lining boobie up out wide. Real threat there I honestly dont get that he is better than Fitz. I would probably put them on par. Fitz was more of an athlete better field iq and someone who rallied the troops. He just didnt have the arm. Orton has the arm but its too soon to tell if he really rallies the guys and he has NO mobility and his pocket presence is questionable. So my personal cumulative score is probably about even maybe Fitz just ahead. Speaking of which. Why dont we try to stand gragg up in the slot sometimes? Or is that too much of a revelation for this team. Didnt he run like a 4.55 and have a 37 inch vert. Im sure that coupled with his size would take advantage of most lbs
  6. Under different circumstances yes. The fumble killed us. BUT in the case of we had a big MCKELVIN return to the 25 and more than 2 minutes to punch it in. Orton didnt get it done. It took me 4 games to look at him as a legit QB and not some outcast joke of a man. So im not going to act like he is trash because of this game. But when we needed something to happen. The offense... like the vast majority of the game let us down. Blame who you want. But lets make this what it is. We had bone head fumbles and butterfingers. But despite it all we had the chance to win. That O has to get better. EJ Orton or acquisition we need someone who can make a play. But it doesnt just fall on the players. We need smarter decisions by the sidelines. It wasnt really a read. It was a misdirection. Pitch. That was going charles the whole time
  7. On the Lawson point. I made reference to that in another thread. Maybe Lawson was the issue. BUT a smart gambling DC is gonna crash down on JAMAAL FREAKIN CHARLES. Who thought Smith would beat us with his legs. I get the gamble. Both times. I thought Bradham should have been there on the misdirection and Aaron Williams took a bad angle and got turned around on the charles touchdown. I just think I dont want to discredit Jamaal Charles and I dont want to paint the picture that Charles has no escapability. When Corey Graham made the open field tackle the announcers were all up in arms about the "great play". We need better contain but like you said... there is no way to know the responsibilities of players. Its not always what it seems
  8. And he threw completions that kept drives alive. Dont leave out the important stuff
  9. I am along with your thinking. I will take his return play any day. He is very shifty and can be electric when given a crease
  10. Really? A misdirection play to the midst dynamic rb in the league? And if we are gonna get ticky tack that was on Bradham he like EVERYONE ELSE crashed left NO DE is gonna stop Jamaal Charles. He could have contained better but it was NOT squarely on Lawson. In addition he put adequate pressure on Smith when necessary.
  11. Correction. The front 8 is a beast. You know it is true when you watch them play and realize after play that Mario Marcell Kyle and Jerry are standing on the sidelines. Manny Stefan Corbin and Jarius have been doing a hell of a job spelling our sack masters
  12. With all due respect. He said Watkins tends to knock it out of the air. The clip you supplied helps his arguement. I am on your side Watkins wise but I just dont think the clip you supplied was the right choice for the arguement
  13. I missed it. Fell asleep. Were there any highlights? Anthone Taylor do well? What happened! !!!!!!
  14. Heard it was the other knee the second time. Both were supposedly shot
  15. This article caused me to like Orton. He really is mentoring. Thats an awesome thing
  16. I know where you are going. But I'm talking about blanket statements. I'm not talking about sport a vs sport b. You can go out and practice that but with muscle memory learned you can add in variable like not a clean pocket and your moving target. I'll take basketball for instance. A lay up. A spot up jumper changing your shot mid air. You have to learn The basics. In basketball the goal is stationary but you are not as stationary as a qb. You can find yourself in any position at any time and you still have to locate The hoop. You still have to figure out so many things that hop into The game people don't think about. Think about he alley oop. That is one of the hardest pass to make. Any sport period. But with practice it can be learned. I still maintain accuracy can be taught.
  17. Na he is right. Unless its a 34 which makes it a little harder. A center is to protect the a gap and then help out guards. Tackles are usually on an island and guards are USUALLY head up on the Dr while having to pas and react to stunts. Center by virtue is the easiest physically. But mentally it is hardest
  18. Thats not entirely true. You are correct in theory. But the statement is flawed ONLY because was supposed to come in and be a game manager. We were supposed to have a running game. We were supposed to be run first. BUT we didnt field a running line. And we couldn't get Spiller OR Jackson to where they were supposed to be. So yes we said we built to ejs strengths but we actually have not fielded anything that makes this a true statement.
  19. Yeah I mean everyone who has ever bowled a 300 game has been doing it since birth. And everyone that plays darts always could hit a bullseye. And oh my favorite... basketball players take 500 a day just to kill time. No sir you ARE wrong. Accuracy can not be taught!!!!
  20. All seriousness im keeping Whaley and all defensive coaches and the player personnel. Do not promote Schwartz
  21. That argument doesnt do much without taking into account average starting field position. And strength of secondary. Orton is playing well. I concede that. And I hope he teaches EJ how to run a huddle. Thats one of the only things I see Orton light years ahead of EJ in. Command of the huddle and confidence. Those 2 factors are why he is starting. This shouldn't be an eternal debate. Who is better. No one cares. Just ride the dang hot hand. And its Orton.
