Forcing Turnovers is the missing ingredient in this Defense

No teeth has it’s advantages 🤷♂️ Except for NFL defenses. -
This is a good segue into this question. I don’t know where or how to find these stats but a bunch on here do: Since this scheme has been in place we have allowed a crazy amount of third and long. Not 3rd and 8 or 10 but 3rd and 12+. I have never seen a D over a multi year period consistently allow 3rd and what should be considered extremely long to either be converted or lead to a 4th and short which is then converted. I have a more than sneaking suspicion that if we are not tops in allowing these over the duration of his tenure compared to all other teams, we are top 3. Again, who can find this stat and am I wrong?

Typical “ McD has to feel comfortable “ moves. Agree, coaches coach players up….or at least should. Zero defense of Rapp but putting Poyer out there being some Win for the safety position…..oy vey.

The team, in general, maybe. Boring. I would argue Josh is the only one who hasn’t fallen apart in the biggest moments.

Deadpanning well written lines with the proper sidekick(s) he would kill

A Josh cameo immediately gets a film a ton more tickets sold Sorry…. Those aren’t process attributes

Roll call who’s going to be at the game Sunday

I’ve heard Shep’s, in Mint Hill, is having a Saturday night Bill’s party. -
Sometimes, drafts are deep at certain positions. Last year especially and this year also at WR. And if a draft isn’t deep at one position it will be at another. One of a couple of Beane and company’s fatal flaws is chasing needs instead of BPA. Year after year after year. A real argument to be made about the Coleman pick is there was probably a LB, CB or S prospect there who had an appreciably higher rating ( although maybe not by this bunch). Slow , project wide receivers are a dime a dozen and the eye test, pre draft, told us that Coleman was a meh pick at best at that position. Another in a long line of head scratchers by this group.

Bill Walsh Maybe before your time but he was THE guy in that era and so many guys came from him or someone under him.

At this point, you are just throwing good money after bad. This team needs so much help, at so many positions, one player isn’t going to move the needle enough. The argument could be made that the picks won’t be good next year when Beane craps the bed again with them but he’s already saddled us with enough crappy deals, I would rather not see one more.

Mac and Bone on CLT morning radio are fun. This poor town has suffered immensely under Tepper and this is the first time in over half a decade they have a glimmer of any hope. The Panthers are on the up…. Good for them. I watched the game this weekend and the Jets run D and S.Gardner alone make them better than our D. They held the Panthers backs on check and their pass rush kept the passing game from working well. If I were to bet, I’d put my money on Buffalo but not by much. If the Bills team we’ve seen for most of this season shows up, they are losing this game. I don’t expect that but this game is going to tell us who’s right and who isn’t in regards to this “ every year slump” theory.

Not arguing that the message has been “ good jump ball” guy but how many 50/50 balls has he caught in his career so far? My guess is it’s well under 10 and maybe under 5. I am thoroughly unimpressed with all the traits that he has been sold with. He does’t play big and I can’t remember him impressively out muscling someone for a ball. Not saying he hasn’t but nothing that has stuck with me.

Or maybe, he has finally come to grips with how he has been and is being leaned on for offensive production without premium help since Diggs….. and he’s tired of it
