  1. I'm not saying that he can't catch. He can. Can he block? The Bills probably won't draft him here if he can't. I'm not saying that *I* wouldn't be happy if the Bills drafted him here. I just don't think it'll happen.
  2. You also have to consider the grade you give them. Its not as easy as saying that all fourth rounders are created equal. They aren't. Besides, competition helps *everyone*. If the Bills think they can find someone in R4 who can seriously challenge for a starting job at TE, they need to strongly consider it.
  3. He went 43rd overall. Its not like the Bills were the only ones with a pass rush issue that passed over him at least once. One thing I realized long ago: the Bills aren't going to do everything I want them to on draft day. They drafted a safety. Would I have made that pick? Probably not. Am I going to complain about it? No. They needed a starting FS. They got one.
  4. I agree, but if they draft a TE here, I think it'll be Shawn Nelson and not Casey. He's not a particularly great blocker, but he will make the effort. That said, at the rate its going, I expect them to draft either a LB or DT.
  5. I don't think they'll draft Casey even if he is available. The Bills value blocking ability at TE and Casey, for all his ability as a receiver, isn't considered much of a blocker at all.
  6. I'll trust NFL.com's draft tracker, which does show us with pick 121.
  7. The Bills plan on playing Jairus Byrd as FS, so its not a CB pick. Would have he have been available later on? Maybe, maybe not. One thing I do know is that a player who can generate turnovers in the secondary would be a welcome addition. Byrd had 17 interceptions over the last 3 years. As for Everette Brown...if he were that good of a prospect, he would have went in R1. Almost every other team in the league passed over him at least once. They all had some concern about him. It should surprise no one that the Bills felt the same.
  8. They have pick 121.
  9. I wouldn't lock in at the TE position, don't get me wrong. Still, I think the Bills might be able to find an immediate starter at the position at 121, which is a reflection both of the players available, and of what the Bills have on their roster. And lets not forget, a TE may well be the best player available.
  10. Well, there goes Jared Cook to Tennessee. I really didn't want the Bills to draft the guy, but I hope that this isn't the start of a run on the position.
  11. Normally, I would agree, but the Bills don't really have anything at TE at the moment. I can see some of these guys coming in and making a strong push at starting over Derek Fine.
  12. Considering that Butler is 6'7" 315lbs, that doesn't seem to be an issue.
  13. The thing I like best about those two picks is that both guys play mean. The Bills have had guys who play soft up front on the OL for years. Now, along with Butler, they have some attitude up front.
  14. I don't like the Maybin pick, but otherwise, it appears to be a solid draft. The Levitre pick pushes it to a solid 'B'.
  15. Nope, not kidding. I've come to the conclusion that the Bills don't give two sh**s about the TE position. They'd be content starting a street FA there. LB? Not a great group this year, but I expect it to be their 4th round pick.
  16. Can't say I agree with that. At all.
  17. 75th and 110th picks.
  18. Now that's VERY interesting. I like it, but WTF do they plan on doing with all of these guys? Butler, Levitre, Hangartner and Wood can't all start.
  19. Shawn Nelson? I hope?
  20. Bills back on the clock!
  21. Considering that they probably would've just used that pick on a CB next year, anyway, I'd rather have the player this year than the pick.
  22. He had 17 interceptions in three seasons. He had 5 this past season.
  23. They can't go a draft without picking a CB on day 1. They absolutely cannot help themselves. With McGee fast approaching 30, this was always a possibility. I'm just glad they waited until round 2.
  24. Well, there's your curveball. I thought they might go CB at 28, but they do it at 42.
  25. I'm not sure about his coverage skills. Otherwise, I'd like it.
