  1. I'm not surprised he hasn't been signed. I can't imagine that there is any great market for WRs who are 30 years old, undersized, and slow....not to mention who have a career resume that includes such highlights as having never had even 600 yards receiving in a single season or more than two TD receptions.
  2. If they wanted Tony Pike they had numerous opportunities to draft him. Seems to me that the Bills just didn't want Tony Pike.
  3. And let me tell ya, the media has got it all figured out. Yes sir.
  4. Well, since my first choice got picked... OT Kyle Calloway or WR Carlton Mitchell
  5. Not at all. They desperately needed a playmaker offensively and got one with Spiller. They got a good NT prospect and a good DE prospect. They needed both. In round 4, they picked a project at WR, but a very talented one at a position where they have no proven talent behind Lee Evans. Sure, they need OL and QB help, but they couldn't fill every hole in this draft and there's no reason to draft a mediocre prospect at those positions just to make the fans feel better.
  6. Nor should they be. I'm not going to advocate that the Bills should cut them, but they've done absolutely nothing to this point to deserve the free pass that many seem to give them.
  7. I can't argue with it. Its not like they don't need help at that position. Easley didn't produce until his senior year, but 6'3 210lb WRs who run a 4.39 don't grow on trees. Worth the risk in R4 for a WR-deficient team, IMO.
  8. 1) NT Cam Thomas 2) OLB Eric Norwood 3) TE Dennis Pitta 4) DE CJ Wilson 5) WR Carlton Mitchell
  9. I have to say, I do like this pick. Then again, I'm biased.
  10. I like the pick a lot. Everything I've read indicates that he's a good, strong run defender at the NT position. I can't argue with that at all.
  11. I wouldn't go quite that far. It may simply say something of their opinion of the OTs that they've had the opportunity to draft and instead passed on.
  12. There's still plenty of opportunity to get that NT, though. There are still four or five very solid prospects out there. If the run doesn't start before 41, I wouldn't be surprised if they wait until 72 and still get a good one. I'm not entirely sure they feel there is an immediate contributor available at LT other than the top 2 guys. As for the WR corps, Evans is obviously a keeper, but I don't think they're going to be overly interested in tying themselves to struggling picks and a failed passing game of the previous staff. Plus, there's an added benefit to drafting that WR now: you get a year's head start on his development early in the rebuilding process when, realistically, you aren't going to be overly competitive as a team, anyway.
  13. I think it may have been Demaryius Thomas, hoping to add even more playmaking ability to the offense. And I don't think that will be their last major attempt at it in this draft, either.
  14. The attitude questions may be hurting him, but for all the talk of Clausen being so well coaching, its strange that its something else that may be hurting him as well. I think there may be some concerns that Clausen has been so well coached that there's little potential left, that he's basically maxed out and is as good as he's ever going to be.
  15. Don't pat yourself on the back just yet. If he falls through R2, you might be right, but many suspected that should the Bills pass on Clausen at 9, he would fall to the Vikings at 30. That's exactly what happened. When the Vikes traded out of that pick, his slide down the board continued. There just aren't many teams outside the top 10 that needed a QB and the one that did pick a QB decided it liked Tebow for whatever reason. I'll be surprised if Clausen makes it past 41 today. In fact, I'll be surprised if he lasts that long.
  16. If Clausen is available at 41, I think they might take a chance on him there. I don't think they'll trade up for him. Otherwise, my choice would probably come down to LT Charles Brown, WR Golden Tate and maybe Damian Williams. I can only imagine the meltdown if they take a WR immediately following the Spiller pick, but I think its a decent possibility.
  17. I don't think I'd take any of them until at least round 4. At that point, I think Pike and Skelton are solid picks, maybe Jarret Brown as well. McCoy isn't too far ahead of that group, either, at least IMO, and I wouldn't consider him until R3 at the earliest.
  18. I think they'll take OT in R2 followed by WR in R3. They might take Clausen if he were to fall to 41, but I don't think he will. There would still be somewhat of a premium price tag to trade up early in R2, so I don't think that will happen. That still leaves NT, but there hasn't really been a run at the position yet. They might go ahead and pick one at 41 and then go heavy on offense the rest of the way, but the way its going, they may be able to hold off for a while longer. In the worst case scenario, they can always trade up.
  19. Definitely. As fast as that card went up, I think its clear they were looking for a playmaker on offense all along.
  20. Agreed. I have nothing against Spiller, in fact, I think he's going to be a very good player. I just question whether he's that much better than what the Bills already had. Maybe you make a pick like this when you're 10-6 and ascending, but at rock bottom, with holes everywhere except at RB? I don't absolutely hate the pick...there's a chance he could be a great player, and I'll take that any day, but there's also a better than decent chance that he'll just be a 'very good' player, and we already have that.
