Nobody is happy with the prospect of trading numerous picks to move up, but imagine the feeling after the draft if we go into the season with AJ and Peterman as our QB's. I wouldn't be too encouraged about the upcoming season, or 2019 for that matter. All the more reason to get to number 2. Try to get the best or 2nd best prospect.

Do you honestly expect to fill 3 holes with a 5th , 6th and 7th round pick? If just one of those picks would stick, that would be a huge success.

The Top 5 Most Polarizing Figures in Buffalo Bills History

The people that I know/knew that were old enough to know at the time all thought Cookie was 2nd only to Jim Brown and I've never heard of anyone that disliked him. I'm not sure he divided the fan base that much. -
I doubt that will happen. Fox just signed a deal to broadcast TNF for about $700 million a year, the NFL was getting about $220 million a year with the old contract. Plus new revenue streams with Verizon signing to stream more games. I think the NFL will be fine for quite some time. I read that the Rams are trying to sign him to a long term deal.

They go into next season currently with $80 million in cap space. It will go up again and they will probably shed some contracts too. They already have a strong team. Some in buffalo are thrilled to have $100 million next season and we aren't up the Rams talent level. If we were in the Rams position, we'd be thrilled. I'm not sure I see a huge cap issue for them in 3 -4 years. Talib gone, Suh gone....$25 million right there.
-
If they win a super bowl before that happens, then the strategy worked. Cap will be up a lot in the next few seasons, rosters change all the time. As long as you don't sign someone and then get rid of them with lot's of dead space on the books, teams should be able to manage. If I'm a Ram's fan, I'm pumped for the next few seasons.

Moving up to #2 = No Playoffs for the next three years

Our roster needs a star QB. I think we have stars in our secondary or at least very good players. We need to work on LB, we've already improved our DL from last season. If we get a QB, we will likely be better than our playoff team of last season. -

and I'm guessing they will be active, if need be. If they are pro-active, I don't see the 3-5 playoff wait being a realistic time frame -

I don't think anybody is happy to be in a position to possibly have to trade a number of picks to get their QB, but it's what the situation is. We can also fill holes through free agency, they've filled about 5 so far this offseason. We need a QB badly. -

Jerry Sullivan: Ralph Wilson Was A Cheapskate
klos63 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't know why this needs to be brought up now. Yes, Ralph was a below average owner and had a below average team most of his time as owner. Anyone alive during his whole tenure would have realized this long ago. He's gone and it's history, let him rest in peace. He wasn't a bad person, just not a good owner. -
No he didn't.
