  1. Jones needs to take a big step up next season.
  2. I'm not sure they understand that. which kills the credibility of your initial point regarding point value of picks. Which kills the credibility of your thread. sorry
  3. No, it would probably be pretty good. Plus McCarron is our QB next season anyway.
  4. If he's dancing it's because he just signed a $10 million contract and has a hot wife.
  5. Good advice- don't panic. From the Colts perspective - if they do trade back with us, they'll get a similar haul to the one from the Jets. They could have a helluva draft for the next 2 seasons.
  6. But the Colts wouldn't have- All the Jet's picks are better than ours.
  7. But what about compensatory picks for next season, that's where the real proof will be.
  8. it's been a while
  9. Because it makes sense. We need a top QB prospect, the only way to get is to trade up. Beane is acquiring assets that would help make that trade. It's not a stretch to think that's the direction he's going in.
  10. Playoffs 3 years in a row, AFC championship game.... they've had pretty good sucess with Luck.
  11. he's played in 33 of the last 48, and 65 of the last 80.
  12. The cap will have increased about $30 million in 3 years, and they'll be drafting in those 3 years in order to replace those that would require a big contract to stay. It's only an issue if they totally disregard the salary structure, which i highly doubt will happen.
  13. While it's tough to part with a quality player, I'm now very confident that Beane has his plan and I would say that by 2019 season, you will see this roster filled out the way he wants it. Not saddled with long term deals and plenty of players on their rookie contracts. He will have the ability to add players at key positions with cap flexibility.
  14. because of expiring contracts in 2018, most teams would logically see a jump in 2019 cap space. Probably consists of way less than 51 contracts. So while a lot of money, it's misleading to an extent. But it does give roster flexibility.
  15. What are we paying the QB position in this scenario?
  16. They'll certainly try to trade up. I think it will be difficult, but no doubt they'll make the effort. If not, we'll add about 6 starters this draft.
  17. I don't think Beane is very fond on long term contracts or at least ones that he didn't offer. I wonder who will get the first mega deal from him.
  18. I would like to have Foles on our team. So there's one.
  19. How about we try to get a QB that will help win a lot of games so we can make the playoffs?
  20. He went there on spring break once.
  21. You may not care, but it doesn't make it any less illegal or inappropriate.
  22. If he wants to move up, he has to tell those GM's, so there really isn't a big secret is there? If he wants to move up, I'm sure he's contacted those GM's already to get basic parameters to start discussions. and no GM would ever say -" no matter what"
  23. the internet? Is that thing still around?
  24. While I agree that no GM would ever give up any draft strategy, there is a price to move in the top 5 or so, and saying it now or later probably won't change that price.
