I understand it happens, but it's not like this guy isn't qualified. Familiarity is not the same as cronyism. I think those two get confused a lot. Not saying you're confusing them , but it's common. Plus, McDermott doesn't seem the type to hire someone just based on friendship. Only Rex does stuff like that.

I don't expect to do it myself. That's up to Beane. How do we expect to fill multiple holes through the draft? With draft picks. How to get a QB? Either draft or FA. We are NOT going to sign Cousins, I'm pretty confident in that. Likely a lesser tier FA. We may not fill all our holes the way we want to this offseason, that's probably not unusual.

Many of those holes will be filled by draft choices. That's how teams stay under the cap. Probably a pretty strong chance TT is cut, add almost $10M to the cap space..., they have enough space to sign a bunch of draft picks and pick up a few FA's.

signed a couple decent backup RB's during the season. Did he sign Deonte thompson? if so, not a bad move. It's ridiculous to overly criticize Beane at the juncture of his time as GM. Give him this offseason of free agency and drafting and let's see how the team performs.

I'm not sure he made 'millions', maybe 1-2 million over a 12 year career, players didn't earn much in the 70's. He also has brain damage , likely due to his time in the NFL. Give him a break. Got a chance to meet him at our house when I was in grammar school, always been one of my all time favorites, so I'm a little defensive regarding him.

Most of my staff are single mothers, I understand their plight. I don't fire them for 3 absences, but I also can't run a business where they call in too much. I've had outrageous attendance issues over the years, it prevents me from growing my business. I'm a single parent as well, and i don't miss any work. I have backup plans, they need to also. This all started with a poster saying he would call in sick to watch the Bills in the super bowl. Totally different to what is being discussed now. Calling in to watch a game or do whatever fun thing you'd like to do is BS no matter how you cut it.
