I think Allen is the long term solution. Like you said, pretty raw to start and had quite a bit of improvement in year 2 with better players around him. Regarding Barkley, I don't think he's very good but I don't expect the Bills to make a change there. Most backups look like crap when entering mid game, those with less familiarity look even worse. For that reason alone, I think they keep him. But I wouldn't be opposed to an upgrade if available.

this obviously wasn't a serious injury. Never missed a game, not sure if he missed practices. If the player isn't missing practice and is in no danger of missing a game, i don't think anything needs to be reported.

Just a wild guess here, but I think as we approach 2022, we'll have more than 13 players under contract so probably not looking at $370 million in cap space.

I would explain it that you cannot turn over your entire roster and fill it with every player that you want in just 2 seasons. The plan wasn't to build a super bowl contender in just two seasons. Some players hold spots until you find their replacement. It takes time. I think the team gets a pretty high grade on how they upgraded the roster and cap situation by year 3. I expect a very aggressive offseason as we are now entering our championship window.

Or you can say we focused on the defense for the first 2 seasons and last offseason we focused on offense.

I don't see Milano as someone that gets a big 2nd contract here. Those contracts for good but not great players are what hurts your cap.

Who did we have that was better? The focus the first 2 years was on defense, this past offseason was offense, hence, 9 new starters. It's not about loyalty.

We had nobody better than those people and he got rid of them as soon as we had a replacement. He cut Benjamin during the season. Wasn't Ducasse benched last season?

McDermott finished his 3rd year here, how many players could he have built up loyalty with that needed to be moved?

Contracts also come off the books, draft choices will beat out some veterans, the cap will rise... it's a fluid situation that I wouldn't really worry about. And we won't sign all our own free agents, no team does that. It's not feasible.

He's always been inconsistent in my opinion but thought he played his best this season. I still wonder if his position is an area to improve on.

I just think we need a 2nd RB that would be effective when called upon. Not a huge step backward like Gore became later this season.

Lawson and Phillips are FA's , if we lose them and cut Murphy that leaves a lot to replace on the dline of a top 3 defense. Seems risky to me. If you can replace Murphy with someone better, sure, do it. But you don't just cut people without a replacement in mind.
