  1. I tend to agree. Free Agency raised the quality of starters and in turn the 2 deep. Outside of Morse they didn’t really add any stars. They added good NFL players. This draft is about getting a couple of stars. It’s about getting guys that teams have to gameplan for. Oliver is my 1st choice but it doesn’t look like he will make it. I think pass rush or a skill player is most likely to do that. Metcalf comes with risk but also comes with potential reward. Hockenson is going to be a good and versatile player. Fant in a trade down is a potential match-up problem. The pass rushers both inside and out can have a similar impact. Devin White could make for an ELITE group of young LBs. The Bills have some options. They shouldn’t be looking for another solid starter. Those guys you find in FA.
  2. Sure, there are perennial pro-bowlers drafted there (and even later). The point is they weren’t surefire, decade long pro-bowlers, prior to the draft. They all had some holes which made them fall. Guys that are absolute, can’t miss stars, don’t see pick 9. That’s guys like Andrew Luck, AJ Green, Orlando Pace, Patrick Peterson, etc..
  3. Who was the last “plug and play 10 year pro bowler” available at 9? That isn’t how it works. He has some questions (arm length and athleticism) which make him an option at 9. He isn’t a flawless prospect by any stretch. Williams is an option at 9 but he is absolutely not a “plug and play 10 year pro bowler.” He’s closer to Jake Matthews as a prospect than Quentin Nelson. He’s a guy with a ton of experience that is a safe option. He will be a good player but he isn’t changing the landscape of anyone’s team. That last part, is, in many ways why he’s not an inspiring pick. The DL, or even Hock or Metcalf COULD transform this team.
  4. If he were a plug and play pro bowler for 10 years he wouldn’t be an option at 9. He isn’t Quentin Nelson.
  5. This actually makes some sense but I’m thinking more like the 7th. Love still comes with a TON of risk so I don’t see them handing him the keys in 2020 but he would be a great option to compete for it if healthy.
  6. This is kind of where I’m at. He’s too good of a pas rusher (one of the hardest & most expensive things to find) to believe that he falls too far.
  7. Lack of short area quickness would be my answer. He graded historically low in those drills (while his size is an obvious reason). Additionally, he’s coming off of a major injury and has the body of an alien. He may be destined for an injury-filled career. With that being said I am fine with DK. I like to roll the dice. Oliver is still my first choice but wouldn’t be mad with DK as he has a chance to be a legit #1 which is what the Bills are missing.
  8. That’s kind of my point on Metcalf. He is RAW. Josh Allen was the same type of prospect. Edmunds was the same type of prospect. They were both physical freaks with questions about their production. Beane wasn’t looking for “solid” guys with a long track record. He was looking for guys that COULD become great. Metcalf is a dice roll but would fit how Beane handled last year.
  9. I believe Metcalf is an option based on how Beane handled last year. He swung for the fences twice in the first. He took raw players with huge ceilings and pretty low floors. Metcalf is that player in this draft. I feel like Jonah is the exact opposite. He’s a safe player that will be good but never great.
  10. It’s similar to what Gunner was saying regarding grades. He may have 15 guys with a round 1 grade. Obviously, 32 guys are going to be taken there. This is similar. The Bills will have it all laid out and have eliminated the guys that have injury or off the field concerns that they deem too big of a risk. Some teams have Sweat off their board for example. He’s probably a top 10 pick.
  11. Yeldon is and always has been a backup. It’s the week of the draft where teams are looking to add young backs. He certainly isn’t holding out for a starting spot at this point. He took the best offer out there. That’s kind of what I am thinking.
  12. I may be in the minority here but think that this is worse for DiMarco than Shady. It feels like Shady is in his last year and they brought in his buddy Gore. Yeldon will be the 4th guy and a draft pick ahead of him. The Bills may move away from a fullback.
  13. I loved last night’s episode!! These characters have been intertwined for years. In many cases they were in direct conflict and here they are together, on what may be their last night. It gave them a chance to clear their souls of these burdens that have weighed on them. It was brilliant
  14. No he played pretty much 2 full seasons and had dominant moments. He was a 5-star recruit and played like it.
  15. The question is really, “offensive weapon” vs. lineman. That is the question. I voted field because I believe Oliver is their guy. That doesn’t mean that he will be there. There are a lot of options but IMO he is the target.
  16. As a Buckeye fan I always thought Nick was a better prospect than Joey. He doesn’t have the length but his technique is stellar. He’s a double digit sack guy as a rookie. He’s a high floor, high ceiling prospect which is why he can’t slip. Outside of his political opinions, which may not fit well in an NFL locker room, he’s a very safe prospect.
  17. I like DK but he is one of the most polarizing players in this draft. Some people will love him and others will worry about his short area quickness, injury and production. I’m fine with him at 9 but a lot of people won’t be. Give me talent though
  18. Sorry about that, I somehow missed the thread. I’d encourage you to try it at some point though. It is fantastic.
  19. @GunnerBill curious to hear your thoughts on Dawson Knox? He feels like a late riser and a guy that could end up on the Bills in the 3rd.
  20. My favorite side in the world may be the Ruth’s Chris sweet potato casserole and it is perfect for what you guys are doing. It is TERRIBLE for you but absolutely incredible. https://steamykitchen.com/38468-ruths-chris-sweet-potato-casserole-recipe.html
  21. I answered your question. That’s not a possibility. In the real world the conversation starts with the teams agreeing to the compensation (like the Bills with Brown). The trade is contingent upon the contract being agreed to (like the Bills with Brown). There is not a situation where a trade would happen without an extension.
  22. I’m not trying to be rude but what does that mean? In the real world, every trade would have an extension negotiated that both sides agreed too (that’s why Antonio Brown isn’t on the Bills). There is not a scenario where your concern could arise.
