I think this is likely in response to my comments. Honestly, I may have given up on "Dexter" after last season, but the final two minutes of the season (Deb walking in on Dexter's kill) was one of the few times they didn't telegraph exactly what would happen, and added a very interesting layer to the show, that it has been lacking for a while. I just think the writers have great ideas sometimes, but they just can't stand to sustain suspense very long. I think it would be far more interesting if Deb slowly peels away the layers of Dexter's lies, and finally realizes he isn't a "one time killer"...I fear that would be a more interesting story-arc than Deb trying to "rehabilitate" Dexter, the serial killer.

Ouch! I remember, I worked at Tower Records in Manhattan, at the time...we got an employee discount on CD players at the time, through Denon. The machines were expensive as hell in those days...so, I order it, and it comes in on a Friday, which also happened to be payday. I was stoked, thinking, what would be the first CD I purchased. I decided to buy 4 Rolling Stones CD's...it was "Beggar's Banquet", "Let It Bleed", "Sticky Fingers" and "Exile On Main Street".... then, as I am about to purchase my CD's, I look up and see John Denver shopping in the store. Remembering that Denvers' "Home Again" was the first vinyl album I ever owned (it was mine, not my sisters, not my brothers...mine!), I decided to put "Beggar's Banquet" back, and grab a CD of "Home Again". I went over and told John Denver my tale, the first CD I would ever purchase was also the first vinyl album I ever owned...he chuckled and said "Far out!" He autographed the CD for me...still have it...I think I listened to it once! I still love vinyl too...but I just can't afford to go back... I am old now...I don't hear as fast as I used to...CD's sound alright to me...dinosaurs that they are....

Honestly, I am no less disgusted with the Patriots loss than anyone else... but I bet anything the Bills show up on Sunday with a great effort. Not saying a win necessarily, but it will be a closer game than appears possible right now. When the Bills lose to the Pats (2-19 in 10.5 seasons!) they lose big...Belichek runs the score up on the Bills as much as he can (throwing til the very end...kicking meaningless field goals) because he knows the Bills will melt like an ice-cream cone on sunny day, whenever anything goes wrong against the Pats. It has been this way for a while...cliche as it is, the Pats are in the Bills heads like no other team... the Bills, as overmatched as they normally are against good teams, normally give a good effort when they are healthy...except against the Pats. It may sound silly, but I think the Bills/49ers game will be within a touchdown for the winning team.

For me, Dexter's peak was the tension between he and Doaks. After Doaks was offed it has been progressively weaker with each season. Lithgow managed to add some intrigue (compared to the other guest "creep" of the season) but even that lacked subtlty. I always like the show okay, but I always think they could execute the story much better. After the second season, the writing, IMO, started to become a lot more sloppy...the whole concept of the show is pretty far-fetched to begin with, but somehow, in the first two seasons, they managed to pull it off...now, there are always huge gaps in the story, most everyone (except Dexter) is remarkably stupid for "smart" people...and the endless double agent stuff with LaGuerrta just gets annoying. How the hell would Dexter manage to pull off setting up a "kill room" in an airport "lost baggage" claim room? That was beyond plausible.

I think Anderson was one of our better front 7 players weeks 1-3...I have little problem with what he did then. The defense, as a whole, just sucked this past Sunday...Kyle Williams was the only D-linemen to make any plays....but even he and Dareus got murdered on the run.

Definitely an improvement...but I hope the last scene, where Dex walks in, and Deb is about to confront him about "everything" was dream. If not, it underscores my biggest gripe about this show...they just can't stand to sustain suspense very long...could be interesting...in the books, Deb is aware, much earlier on, of Dexters' "secret" life.

I can't blame anything on Johnson...he is always open....his QB can't deliver the ball... looks like TJ Graham is much the same...he can beat anyone, but his QB can't get the ball to him much beyond the line of scrimmage.

I tried to ignore it too..but living in a city where they show the Cowboys and Texans every week, around a lot of Texans fans, I really never heard much about Mario Williams. Most Texans fans I know didn't seem too concerned about his leaving. I won't say that anybody hated the guy, just that he seemed like just a good player, on team that had an up and down defensive history. I guess I was just hoping, just this once, the Bills would come out smelling like a rose in one of these situations. Mind you, I don't think Williams has been horrible...just not the game changer I (I think all of us) was hoping for. As much as we, as fans, want something to work. that is where our efforts end...the player has to want it as bad as the fans do. The guy looks to have the ability to dominate...why isn't he?

Marshall Faulk (for what that is worth) said much the same thing about Mario. I can tell you, when there was a euphoria about signing Williams, I posted a link to an article from Houston sports media (can't remember who now) who reflected on Mario as a "good, not great, player"...his desire for the game was always in question during his Houston days. He would have a big play, or a stand-out game, now and again, but wasn't considered reliable, week in week out. Seems like we are seeing some of that. I am not saying that Mario is a bust, but I think the expectations off signing two players were/are maybe a little too high. This team is still very much a work in progress. Mario Williams is not the second coming of Bruce Smith.

Or, it really could be as simple as the fact that Chris Johnson was my first round fantasy football pick (#7) over all...everyone knows, my first round pick is almost always a complete bust!

Fred Smerlas= great Buffalo Bills player also Fred Smerlas= total a-hole I love Marv... but Knox will always be my favorite Bills HC in my lifetime... it is amazing how great those pre-Super Bowl team defenses were... I know, people will say that they the Bills defense didn't dominate so much in the 4 Super Bowl years (as opposed to the 87-89 teams) because of the no-huddle...and that may be true to a degree, but I think Walt Corey's defensive schemes (if he really had any) left a lot to be desired...they had all-world talent on defense, but had just "pretty good" results. Hell, forget Knox...just think of how different things might have turned out if Wade Phillips had come to Buffalo a little earlier....

I agree in general... but like almost every position in FF, there are a handful of elites at every position, and then a big drop off. I had three defenses targeted as my "elites"...on draft day, I liked the way my team was shaping up, so felt like picking the Texans D in the 10th round was okay... at that point, a defense that I can rely on for 8-12 pts every week (many more on good weeks) is far more valuable to me than a RB who shares carries with 2 other guys on his team, or a WR who may have a big day once in a whille but, do little most weeks....your D plays every week. WR's are almost as much of a crap-shoot, for me. Colston just worries me, because he has done nothing after three weeks, and seems to have some on-going foot injury. He plays, but isn't getting targets like you would expect. I know, it is early in the season, so I shouldn't panic...I am probably going to stand pat. I would just feel better with another decent receiver option. Yeah thanks to both of you for helping me hash this out...I wasn't pursuing this trade, this guy just seems to really want the Texans D. I may try to up the ante on it...or decline. btw- I neglected to mention, we do use the Flex position, so, if I did get Floyd or Holmes, they could be plugged in there, without benching Colston...

Whenever my fantasy season appears to be going in the tank (I am 1-2, and my team is "underproducing" so far, according to pre-season expectations), it is normally cuz I don't have relaible wide receivers...this case it is the same...thanks #1 pick (#7 overall) Chris Johnson! I have: Wes Welker (finally had a good game, but the rest of my team was woeful) Marques Colston Michael Crabtree Kendall Wright I also have the Houston Texans defense...my only defense. My question: A guy in my leauge (also in my "division") has offered me the NY Jets defense and either Santonio Holmes or Malcolm Floyd for the Texans defense and Kendall Wright... Stat wise, Holmes or Floyd would be a good number 2 for me, if they continue their current pace...but are they better than Colston? Should I make a trade, or stand pat. I don't particualrly like the Jets defense, especially compared to the Texans...but, sometimes you gotta give to get.. I have tried, but failed to pick up a few different WR on waivers...

If you listen to commercial radio, any station, anywhere, no matter the format, you will hear the same commercials over and over...it is just the way it is....when did "Bills Nation" transform into "Baby Nation" I do agree the post-game show is pretty bad...but when have they ever been good?

It's a great album...but people who are still hung up "Dylan can't sing" won't appreciate it. This may not have been a pretty win, and the Browns may not be a great team...but I think this was a pretty significant win for the Bills, and is a good indication of their make-up. When Spiller went down (he looked like he was on the verge of a stellar game), the breath seemed to be sucked out of the team, collectively. We have seen that scenario far too many times in recent years, as the Bills try, and fail, to get "over the hump." They come out looking great, and then something negative happens (in this case Spiller going down) and they seem to fold up their tents, and hope they can hang on for a close win...but today, after a long spell of this, Fitz (despite his imperfections) was able to lead them to a td drive (rather than settling for a field goal), and the defense came up with a great effort to dash any hopes the Browns had of making some final come-back..Marcell comes up with the huge sack, and they pick of Weeden on the next play. Beating teams like the Chiefs and Browns (on the road no-less) is an indication to me that the Bills really are improving, it is not just all on paper. The Bills are widening the gap, IMO, between themselves, and that bottom third of the league...I expect a great effort against New England. Oh yeah...not meant as a pile-on toward Fitz, but imagine how good Donald Jones would look if he had an occasional pass his way that was on target...i see why the Bills coaches love this kid. If Fitz was a little more accurate, some of those tough 6 yard passes might end up being 10-15 yarders.

Not sure what your point is... other than you don't like Maher... I know you are a Stern fan-boy... just pointing out, people here (right wingers) always love to point out some double-standard that makes their side of the aisle look bad (see the post I was responding to)...and pretend that that they (media or whoever) just gloss over their own sides scars, lumps and bumps. It just isn't true...but when you live in a bubble, you wouldn't know it. So, you wanna tell Dave In Elma, or should we wait for him to figure it out!
