  1. Post of the regular season...so far! Funny and with a kernal of truth!
  2. Now, as of Sunday, Sept 8th, Mario is a officially a true Buffalo Bill. He has had his first disappointing performance, and is on the bubble of becoming a whipping boy for our schizo fan base...welcome to Buffalo, Mr Williams....the honeymoon is over!
  3. I disagree...he has always thrown the ball like that, which, I thought, was a big part of his problem. He puts every ounce of power he can muster in to any throw over 10 yards, so his accuracy sucks....he did the same thing last season. Whatever Lee has taught him, it clearly hasn't transferred to his game on the field. So, either he and Lee have a lot of work to do, or the Bills need to find two or three WR who are 7 ft 5, with a 62 inch vertical leap... I noticed a few times yesterday, before he got hurt, where David Nelson's body language was telling me that he was getting really frustrated with Fitz. Fitzputrid!
  4. I get it...you are linking us to an article that you wrote...the same one you linked in the shoutbox...should we give Gilmore the electric chair, or crucify him on a cross? Just stop...
  5. So, after yesterdays miserable loss, the last thing I want to hear about is the Buffalo Bills. I turn them on, to listen to their Hockey show, and all they are talking about is the friggin' pukey Bills loss...do the people who run this station have a clue? I want to hear about the NHL CBA, Shane Doan, the World Juniours...anything but the Bills...
  6. Yeah, for a "straight shooter", Chan is not somebody I am trusting a whole lot. For a team (or OC/HC) that is enamored with his passing game as much as our guy is, he makes some pretty big leaps sometimes... we are going to hear that Fitz is "our guy" until he puts up another stinker like yesterday...and then, all of the sudden, Tarvaris Jackson, who wasn't ready, is our starting QB. This x1000! I like Gailey, but there are some very Jauronian tendancies...stubborn at the cost of the game.
  7. This has been posted a dozen times or so since yesterday.... according to Chan Gailey, Spiller has improved tremendously in picking up the blitz...Chan has never lied to us before, right? Besides, the Bills need to run the ball more, so Spiller should be carrying the ball, not picking up blitz!
  8. I will say, as bad a day as Gilmore had (I am still confident the defense will be much better in coming weeks), he is a solid tackler... it just seems to be a coaching philosophy, that has now transcended three or four different Bills defensive coordinators, to play too far off the receivers...I don't get it...how many times do they have to get burned to make some sort of an adjusment. I am not going to overreact on the defense yesterday... it was awul, no doubt. But, when the offense spots the other team a ton of points, it is hard to know what we have on defense. Playing with a large lead is a big advantage for any offense...or, it should be.
  9. I have a natural aversion to your advice, since you are in my league...but I ended up taking it. I am one who thinks Hillis will have a big year, but, he will split time with Charles. Brown was my only other option...going into Monday night, I have to hope that Ronnie Brown outscrores Rivers (the team I am playing has him), being spotted 4 pts....just like the Bills, off to a "great" start...
  10. Yeah, that was Jazzy, way back in the 90's...for me. As far as I know, she is still at it!
  11. Somebody better remind Buddy that some babies are just fugly... horrible performance all the way around. Fitz does not look like he belongs as a starter...I am willing to give the defenese a little time to gel, but that was a sad showing. Felt like most of the second half of last season all over again...thank god for CJ Spiller.
  12. I liked "Lucky Louie" a lot too, but I think "Louie" is a far better show. The only thing I can think of that they ever did on "Lucky Louie" that they couldn't do on "Louie" is show somebody's man junk, one too many times... both shows are pretty experimental...I don't think every episode of "Louie" is brilliant, but when it is good it is excellent...the two-parter with Parker Posie was awesome....the sort of follow-up with Chloe Sevigney was as raunchy as you could have gotten...and the one a few weeks ago where Louie gets head from a date, and does not want to return the favor was plenty raunchy. As for my favorite stand-ups, that is tuff...to narrow it to three...but off the top of my head, I would have to say: 1- George Carlin- he made me laugh, even as he got older, and more and more bitter. He was righteous and funny...the best! Sad to think he will never have another HBO special. 2- Steven Wright- in his prime, when he was "hot", he was just friggin' hilarious...and it was never offensive, always just clever. 3- Sarah Silverman- I know we have a lot of lady haters on this board. and I am sure SS is loathed by most...but I think she is brilliant... it ain't what she says, it's the way that she says it. I didn't love her tv show (though it still made me laugh from time to time), but her stand-up stuff is great. I don't think she does as much as she used to, but I have had the opportunity to see her twice, and both times, tears of laughter and a sore throat from laughing so much. I would also rate Steve Martin pretty high, though he isn't really a stand-up comic anymore...hasn't been for decades...his albums "Excuse Me", "Let's Get Small', and "Comedy Isn't Pretty" were a big part of my formative years. Also, when he was a stand-up, Martin Mull was pretty amazing as well. I really like this show too...but, if I have one small quibble with it, sometimes it is just too depressing...really gotta be in the mood, cuz the show can take some pretty dark (and heavy) turns. I like that description "absurdest drama"...you oughta go into writing or something!
  13. But a far cry from "go shopping" and "borrow money from your parents"
  14. The only one that I thought was just okay, was the one about the Los Angeles Raiders...it was way too long, and really could have been much shorter. But, I always look forward to these.
  15. Rough figure. I watch a bit more during football season (a small percentage of their football coverage is "worthy" of my time, but gets it anyway), and the NBA playoffs. They do a good job covering the NBA, though not as good as TNT. Also, I really have liked all of the "30 for 30" documentaries they have aired...I think I have seen most of them. They just have so much content that is repetitive, stupid, and frivlious (hard to do when you are covering "entertanment sports", I know!), so maybe 25% is being generous. But, I realize, as much as I B word about ESPN, if it were to go off the air, I would definitely miss it... For me, it has become sort of the equivalent of CNN. You go there for a big, breaking, story, just to get the details, but after that, it is pointless. But, the commercials are still very entertaining.
  16. What? Are you some kind of code monkey or somethin'?
  17. I like your list..though I put the Sopranos at the top....must say though, I have never seen "Justified" May have to give it a shot. I am not sure that Boardwalk Empire is quite there yet, but it got better and better as it went on during the first two seasons...I am expecting it to reach it's stride in season three. I put it as my #5.
  18. Yeah... I don't normally get too worked up about cuts, particularly for non-starters...but this one confounds me. I get it that Ruvell Martin is supposed to be a better special teamer, but Hagan, to me, was one of the top 4 pass receiving wide receivers on the roster... I am hoping Fitz mechanics improvement pays off for Donald Jones Brad Smith does not excite me a lot as a WR, and now, it sounds like Steve Johson is banged up...hopefully it is just a smoke screen to get the jest to feel (even more) cockey than normal..
  19. In all fairness, maybe people confused Honey Boo-Boo for the RNC? It would be an easy mistake. Thats all I can figure....
  20. Very silly...but honeslty, those stripes are pretty fugly!
  21. Who you like best of these options, as a FLEX player, week 1: Denarious Moore (Raiders) vs San Diego Jonathan Stewart (Panthers) @ Tampa Bay Peyton Hills (Chiefs) vs Atlanta Michael Crabtree (49ers) @Green Bay Ronnie Brown (Chargers) @ Oakland I like my team this year, but I am a pretty thin at receiver...as usual!
  22. I have seen a lot of Tony Romo in my day (living in Cowboys country), and that may have been the best game I have ever seen him play. I hate the Cowboys, don't get me wrong, but their offense looked terrific last night, once they got untracked, against a solid defense, I get the sick feeling the Cowboys are going to be pretty good this year. If you (OP) have Tony Romo and P Manning, you are going to have some excellent trade bate as your season goes on.
  23. The legend of John Claytons ponytail grows!! Must say, as much as I loathe about 75% of ESPN, I count their SportsCenter promos as part of "good ESPN" I still think the one with the Manning family taking the ESPN studio tour is pretty funny...Peyton was comedy gold back then!
  24. Keef is always cool, in my book (and his!). I remember going to see Darlene Love do her Christmas show years ago, in NYC, and Keith came stumbling in with blinking Christmas lights in his hair.It cracked me up. Yeah, that album artwork "Grrr" is awful...big whup...two new, likely unmememorable tracks (unless they are wretched...still a possiblity!), and a "career spanning" collection of their greatest hits...I have had a few of those ever since the advent of the CD burner! Oh well, still looking forward to the documentary. I will always love this band, even though the bonus tracks on the "Exile" and "Some Girls" deluxe editions are the only legitly good material they have put out in years (actually like a cut or two off each album from the 90's and 2000's, but don't love them)...they are like rock -n'roll Santa Claus to me...you know they are kind of BS, at this point, but the great memories from when you still believed (or when they still put out great records) compensates for the not so thrilling stuff later. For me...
  25. So, those of you who have Madden 13 for PS3...thumbs up, or thumbs down? When I got Madden 11,for PS3, I hated it...but Madden 12 was a little better. My issue with it, as one who plays mainly against the computer (que the "playing with yourself" quips!), is the game is way too easy, or way too hard..there doesn't seem to be an in-between. With the old games, I would always start out playing at the "All Madden" level, and would get progressively better, so it was fun...with Madden 11, it was so difficult to do anything at the "All Madden" level, so I went down a notch to "all-pro"..then it was so easy, it wasn't fun. Maybe an age thing (I'm old!)...although it looks awesome (mostly), I haven't enjoyed playing the Madden game a lot more, before PS3...keep in mind, I don't play on-line.
