  1. I know what you mean...but I think, in some ways, it is just as much the other way around. Welker was terrific with Miami... (some) people forget, before he went to New England, he was a very Tasker-esqe player for the fish... very high football IQ. I can't help but think not every guy of similar skills could accomplish what Welker has in New England...sure he benefited from Brady, but he certainly helped Brady a ton too.
  2. For what its' worth...just flipping through my Time Warner cable..and the NFL Network is officially on the air...I am watching it now!
  3. Happy Happy...Birthday Birthday...Hare Hare...Krishna Krisha...
  4. It is what Time Warner wanted years ago...I guess NFL finally caved...
  5. Keeping the coupons for all those job creators coming...
  6. I noticed the same thing from David Nelson, before he got hurt. Only saw it on tv, but a few times, after Fitz missed him (or hit his feet) he was walking back to the huddle looking very frustrated...
  7. According to someone affiliated with Young (his agent, didn't catch his name) and the AP article posted on the front yesterday, Young was served with papers at Bills training camp, a day or two before he was cut. The guy seemed to think that this was a factor in the Bills cutting Young...he said "rightfullly, they have an young up and coming team, and don't want any off the field disatractions." Of course, the guy was empathetic to the Bills perspective, but he may also be angling to make sure his client gets another job.
  8. Okay...sorry...you didn't really explain yourself in the original post. However, you are the one asserting that the release of the fund-raiser tape was some sneaky move by the Romney campaign. That wasn't me. I also don't agree, at all, that Romney's camp would have wanted that tape to come out...but, they have had other miscues, so I suppose that wouldn't be shocking. If you heard the whole tape, Romney did little to dispel any of the negative feelings people might have about him, or, frankly, an element of the Republican party. I also find it kind of depressing that so many Romney supporters are taking this stance that this is what Romney wants to say, but can't in a more public forum...

  10. So, you are contending that Romney is a spineless weasel? Not hard to fathom. I guess you haven't heard the whole thing. Hard to imagine that Romney (dolt that he is more and more appearing to be) could use much of this to his advantage. BTW- are you implying that Dems somehow released a damning (for many) tape of Romney, in his own words, to counter the Republicans release of a damning video of Obama...or did the Romney people leak the Romney video so that his peeps could see the "real Romney"..the one that he is afraid to show to the rest of the world...you are kind of all over the place on this. You don't work for the Romney folks do you?
  11. The liberal bastion ( ), the Weekly Standard weighs in: http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/note-romney-s-arrogant-and-stupid-remarks_652548.html
  12. Honestly...who cares what polls say? It's like the political equivalent of the NFL "power rankings" that various sports outlets produce... they mean very little.
  13. Yeah, I know...I was being sarcastic!
  14. It is safe to say, until/if Fitz has another bad game...and then the "crappy offensive" performance will be a big part of Fitz problem for that day.
  15. Well, that kind of goes without saying, doesn't it? Completely disagree with your take on the "you didn't build that" thing...but as you said, another topic for another thread.
  16. Hey, we were in the playoffs after week 7 last year, so why shouldn't CJ Spiller be the league MVP after two games?
  17. Kind of like the "you didn't build that" quote that the Republicans trimmed, so they could have a bumper-sticker slogan to base their convention on?
  18. Sabol and his father made a huge imprint on the NFL without ever putting on a helmet. He will be missed, but his influence will be felt, I suspect, by everyone who enjoys the NFL. RIP Steve Sabol.
  19. God...you are so !@#$ing smart... if only we could run everything like a successful business. Conservartives in bubbles have all the answers to their problems...why can't everyone get on board?
  20. I was at a bar in Texas watching the game with about 30 other Bills fans...on the play where Fitz missed the wide open Chandler, the lunatic guy-fan in our group (always the loudest, got booted once while we were watching a Sabres game, for being too loud), slams his fist on the table and yells "Fitzpatrick you suck!!", very loudly...some people chuckled, but there was a kind of uncomfortable feeling in the room for a second or two... then, a few drives later, Bills were lined up in a formation where they had all their receivers bunched together on the line, to his left...Fitz snaps the ball, looks to his right, and IIRC, has to throw the ball away... they show the replay, and it looks like TJ Graham is wide open on the left side...the announcer says "Fitzpatrick obviously saw something he didn't like on that play"....as if on cue, lunatic fan yells out "yeah..he saw a freakin' wide open reciever!!!" Everyone laughed... then the Bills started running away with it...everyone was happy...everyone loved Fitz!
  21. I don't completely disagree with Promo...the NFL is not a very sentimental business....but I am sick of fans being blamed for the eventual demise... the notion that Ralph Wilson's role in this whole thing is inconsequential is maddening.
  22. Funny...when he got knocked out to that playoff game two years ago, the rap on him was "he doesn't care enough", he seems "blase", yadda, yadda yadda....so, last night, he chews out his linemen, and the same talking heads who were crucifying him before are yacking about his "attitude" and "lack of leadership". If that was Peyton Manning, Brady, or a half dozen other guys, they would be extolling his virtues as a "leader of men". He is not at the level of Manning, Brady, Brees, etc, but anyone who thinks he isn't significantly better than Ryan Fitzpatrick is really not living in the real world, or is just a true homer. Cutler threw a bad pick last night, in what was desperation time, during a game where he was getting the crap kicked out of him. Nobody has ever seen this happen before from one of the elites?
  23. If the guy in your league will do it, I woud say do it in a heartbeat. Even if you didn't already have Arian Foster, I like all your running backs (except Green) better than all of the other guys running backs...except Freddie. Sure, you are gambling a litte that Fred comes back in 3 or 4 weeks, and there is no residual affect from his injury....small risk, large reward if you ask me!
