  1. After his first few kicks of the year, I was never once nervous about him missing a kick. In all the time Lindell was here, I never had that confidence in him.
  2. http://www.nfl.com/player/dancarpenter/2507401/profile FWIW, Carpenter appears to have been pretty solid as a field-goal kicker, throughout his career. Maybe a little slump in 2010. His year in Buffalo was his best. Can only guess the Dolphins were not happy with his kickoffs.
  3. I like Gragg...but the usual bag of dicks have spoken!
  4. She wears those boots and jeans very well! Real life, she is 29, he is 45....
  5. Schaub was really bad last year Saint...it was more than just a handful of bad throws in a small window. He couldn't hit anything, no matter how wide open a guy was... I am not saying he can't be servicable somewhere else, with a fresh start...but you gotta remember the expectations for the Texans, going into last season, were sky high...Schaub really was not up to the task. His teammates had no faith in him...it was just a toxic situation.
  6. We, as a fan base, are pretty hard on guys, especially first round draft picks. It has been said a million times, in reference to Whitner, it isn't his fault the Bills drafted him too high. These guys have egos that need to be stroked, and some don't do well when they are hated..it affects their play. We were on the verge of the same thing with Aaron Williams...now everybody loves him. Whitner may not have been the best, but I always liked the fact that he seemed to care a lot more about winning and losing than many of his teammates over the time he was here. He had a loud mouth, no doubt...but some guys just need that to motiviate themselves...the guy had a Bills logo tattood on his chest for crying-out loud!
  7. I have just started re-watching the Bills 2013 season (glutton for punishment), and Searcy had some rough moments, no doubt, but I don't think he is as awful as I remembered him being. Made some plays, particularly early on when he had more playing time. Not that it means much, but he scored the Bills first TD of the season! I like the physical aspect of his game. He can hit. Never thought about it before, but he does remind me a bit of Whitner (who I never hated as much as everyone else) a bit.
  8. I had never heard this rule before.
  9. Well, I actually remember, just this season, people here complaining about Mario's "disappearing act" in the second half of this season... and you are forgetting that the Bears defense was ravaged by age this past season... now, I am in no way saying that Peppers is the same player that he was 5 years ago, but when motivated, a lot of great defensive linemen play some of their best football in their later seasons... I would never recommend breaking the bank for him, but I do think there are far worse options.
  10. According to NFL Network, Browns "serious" about signing Donte Whitner... now, that could just be a ploy to get Byrd to settle for less money, but it is seeming more and more likely that the Bills offer will be the best offer he gets. I know, Rams and Redskins are supposed to be interested, but I also heard that Byrds' price is likely too steep for the Redskins... interesting to see how this all plays out.
  11. My best friend is a huge Bears fan. He makes the same complaints about him, that Bills fans (and Texans fans before them) make about Mario. He is so good at times, but an invisible non-factor at other times. It would be nice to have another stud DE opposite Mario. That D-line would be, by far, the best in the league IMO. A strong front four can mask other problems. Do you think the Bills didn't really want Byrd? Or, do you think they didn't want him at his price? Teams cut good players all the time for salary cap reasons...the Bears, for the first time, that I can remember, are shifting toward being (or trying to) an offense first team...they want to spend money on protecting Cutler..it doesn't mean that Peppers has no value.
  12. No, they don't re-sign their talent, as long as you don't include examples of when they did!
  13. Jeez...I hope it wasn't Rick Azar starring in "Equus"! Your poor mom!
  14. I was at work, a busy Saturday....I remember a co-worker (a Cowboys fan) just said, casually, "ha-ha, you guys signed T.O!!" I didn't beleive him, but called a buddy, and sure enough...I was not a big fan, but I will say, it was kind of a no-harm, no-foul thing in the end. It made that one season, at least, a little more interesting....he was a model citizen, and his skill level exposed how bad our offense was. The "TO Show" was kind of fun for a second (did anyone watch season 2?) The one outburst he had, that we saw anyways, was after yet, another very winnable loss to the Titans...Dick Jauron was fired afterwards... it likely would have happened anyways, but I like to give T.O. credit for pushing Jauron (my least favorite coach in Bills post-Super Bowl years history, maybe of all-time)...so, it is 5 years later, but thanks T.O.!
  15. Good call!
  16. I like Eva Mendes in just about anything... I saw her in "Beyond the Pines" recently, and she was remarkabley good. Amy Adams might be a little "too hot" right now for tv series, no? When McCounaughey was filming this, I am guessing, his full on transformation as star of crappy movies, to a full time great actor hadn't quite happened yet...
  17. You can also go the the third icon from the left, in the top row, called "Special BB Code"... it brings a drop down, where you can choose "Spoiler", and type your text in there....now you gotta tell me how you post pictures!
  18. Man.. where does the time go? I guess I moved from Buffalo, right around the time Azar went off the air...to me, for better or worse, he is the media person I most associate with Buffalo sports, to this day. From time to time, I pull out the old Bills highlight films, and Azar did the narration for many of them...always will remember that voice. I had thought I read, a few years back (probably 10 years for all I know) that he was a country music DJ in Nashville, or maybe it was in NC.
  19. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2014/03/07/t-o-says-thanks/ Hard to believe this was five years ago..who knows where the time goes?
  20. What abotu Shaun Hill? Heard him mentioned as somebody likely to get a look from the Bills....
  21. Ha-ha...no spoilers! http://www.theonion....ry-he-wi,35470/
  22. Find it amusing that TJ Graham is listed... I don't hate the kid near as much as some here...but how many votes would you suspect him to get?
