The previews for next week, with the loudspeaker announcements referring to "Terminus" infer that it is more a prison camp than a sanctuary!

NFL getting "hoggy" according to Mark Cuban
Buftex replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would love that too... though maybe not my first option. But, as with MLB (he tried to by the Rangers, Pirates), I just don't think he would jibe well enough with the NFL establishment to be approved by the other owners...of course, the NFL "establishment" is slowly starting to wither away. A small company that my sister works for was recently selected by Cuban as a company to invest in, on that "Shark Tank" program. He is a smart guy (I used to loathe him, but I am starting to come around to him a little), but he is not one to invest in something for sentimental reasons. Kind of a young turk...he would likely find a million reasons to move the team from Buffalo. Pegula would be my first choice... I know, the Sabres experiment has been a bit of a disaster up til now, but I think he has his heart in the right place...the more he invests in the city of Buffalo, the more buying the Bills makes sense for him. -
Which Jim Kelly Jersey to Purchase?

I got a really good deal on it years ago. Brand new, with tags. I am a pretty big guy..I tried it on once, and it was too snug...I haven't gotten any smaller! It's not framed or anything, but perhaps, one day. -
NFL getting "hoggy" according to Mark Cuban

I realize it isn't in the same stratosphere as the NFL, and I realize, most NFL fans (at least here) seem to loathe the NBA, but they have done a really great job sustaining that leauge, and it is thriving. David Stern may be a putz, but he really was a good commissioner for that league. They know their market, and they know what their market wants. -

Metz, you know the answers to all those questions. The rule changes are to give the perception that the league is really concerned about player safety (rather than impending and continuing law-suits), and the other stuff is all about selling merchendise. I think Cuban is right. As an NBA owner, he is obviously concerned with the NFL's seeming obessession with having football every night of the week. The NBA has carved out a nice niche for itself in the pro-sports world, and the NFL is obviously threatening that. But, I will be honest. Unless the Bills are playing, I have no real interest in Thursday Night football. I am starting to lose interest in Monday Night Football as well, unless it is the Bills. What used to make the NFL so awesome, in part, was that it was so limited...one day a week, and one game on Monday night. Now, everything is so constant and so accessible, it is taking some lustre off the game. -

Not sure of your size Chandler#81, but if you are a big guy, this might not be a bad price: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-with-Tags-Rare-Jim-Kelly-USFL-Houston-Gamblers-Jersey-XXL-2XL-Buffalo-Bills-/291107933796?pt=US_Football_Fan_Shop&hash=item43c7628e64#ht_234wt_1153 -

I am not sure that is what Cuban is referring to, but I know what you mean. I think he is referring to them over-sarturating their fan base, and price gouging that seems to go on with nearly everything with the NFL brand name. Then, more to your point perhaps, Mr. Locke, their is a trend among parents not wanting their kids to play football any more... IMO, that is going to affect the game more than anything. In another 10-15 years, the game is going to get even further away from the game that most of us grew up with, as there is a shorter supply of kids playing the game, and the rules on hitting and safety change the look of the game. It's coming... -
Which Jim Kelly Jersey to Purchase?

I have about 18 different Bills jerseys. I rarely wear them anymore (too fat for most of them!), though when I do, it is a Chris Spielman (fits me best) or a Lee Evans home jersey...the only two authentics I have are the Kelly SB XXV Mitchell & Ness, and a Mitchell & Ness Joe Cribbs. I had a Joe Ferguson, but I gave it to my brother, to wear to SB XXVIII...saw him on tv with it, and that is the last time I ever saw it! Personally, I prefer the cheaper, replicas, with the iron on numbers. I know they aren't as cool, but besides being cheaper, they are much moe comfortable to wear. At one time, I toyed with the idea of getting college jerseys of my favorite Bills players, just so I would have a variety...like the idea of a Houston Gamblers jersey. -

I have the Mitchell & Ness SB XXV jersey...I have never worn it...but it sure looks sweet! All this jersey talk reminded me of something. I don't want to start another jersey thread, so here goes: Does anyone remember when jerseys started to become more prevalant among fan ware? The first one I remember seeing, worn by a fan, not a player, was my brothers (now) ex-wife had a really sweet Lou Piccone jersey in 1980. We would go to games, and everyone would comment on it. She was a petite girl, and while it was a little big on her, it wasn't a real Piccone jersey. I just don't remember people wearing them very commonly. If somebody had one in the stands, it really stood out. Whenever I see old NFL films stuff from the 70's I never see them in the crowd shots. Anyone know the history? -
LOL! I haven't really played Madden in about 2 years, but I used to be an addict. For years, from the first game (1993-ish) up to a 2012. I used to play at least one game a day, against the computer, some days, 2 or 3. In all that time, I had never enjoyed the thrill of returning a kick, or a punt for a touchdown...then one night, late, I was talking to my girlfriend on the phone... unbeknown to her, I was also playing Madden. Only half paying attention to her, and half to my game, I somehow managed to finally do it...I returned a punt about 60 yards for a score, but I had no idea what I had done...not wanting to be rude, and not wanting her to know I had been playing that "stupid game" while we were talking, I paused the game, wanting to look at the replay as soon as I got her off the phone. So, about 30 minutes later, I take it off pause to look at the replay, and the damn game froze...I tried everything to get it back, but the game was gone...had to reset it, and it worked fine...grrr...

Just saw this on BuffaloBills.com... http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/From-one-12-to-another-On-beating-cancer-twice/211c4a92-81d2-4b38-8be3-1196b9c345ef

Posted this in the Suggestion Box the other day, maybe others could chime in: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/166569-jim-kelly-good-time-to-put-him-on-the-front-page/#entry3087836 I share the same feelings as everyone else here... Kelly means a lot more to me than simply QB for the best Bills teams of my life. Over the last few years here, on TBD, I have grown increasingly annoyed with posters who harp on about the imperfections that Kelly, Levy, Bruce, Thomas, Reed, etc etc had, and how each one played some huge part in the teams failure to win a Super Bowl during those years. These guys gave us so much... Jim, in particular, grew up in front of us... from brash and a little arrogant, to a good man. Hearing of his suffering is tough. He is only about 5 years older than me, and I gotta admit, he is still, even at my age, somebody I kind of look up to. My own family has been ravaged by cancer (3 family members have passed in the last 5 years from cancer, another sister battling it now), and it hurts. Kelly, for me, almost feels like another family member suffering. And like the OP, I admit, I got a little choked up by the picture of Bruce, Thurman and Andre in the hospital with #12...but the picture of Jim and daughter turned the lump in my throat to a few tears. It all feels too familiar.

Taylor Lewan Charged With Assault?

Yeah, I get the sense too. But, in this case, they are posting a negative story about him...so I am thinking they are backing off the idea. -
Taylor Lewan Charged With Assault?
Buftex replied to BIllsNation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was thinking he would be their pick, solely on the fact that both Chris Brown and John Murphy bring his name up near every time they talk about the Bills draft. I know people think they are paid Bills cheerleaders (and they are to a degree) but I think they (Brown especially) are privy to a lot more info than they can present sometimes...Brown was all over the EJ pick last year, when I didn't really hear anybody else mentioning him as the Bills first pick. That being the case, as I stated earlier, I found it curious that the story was reported on the Bills official web-site. That tells me they are no longer interested in him...if they were, why wouldn't they just ignore the story until they couldn't any more? -

Scratch him off the list. Is it me, or does anybody find it curious that this was posted on the Bills website? It's not as if he is a Buffalo Bill. -

You know, a strong front seven can make a secondary look all that much better. I think the Bills are going to have a strong front seven. -
Very cool. I don't have a horse in the race this year (happens all too much with the Sabres) Dante, but I am conflicted between the Sharks and Buffalo Blues. Part of me would love to see Ott and (especially) Miller hoist the cup, but the other part of me doesn't want them to win... is that petty? I have always wanted the Sharks to win...Blues are just a team I never thought of, or considered until this year.
