Guess I will just to rely on Hannity for my political laughs now. -

For laughs, Kimmel is the best right now...I can't believe how many people think Fallon is great. He has had some great musical parodies over the years, but his is pretty tough to watch, otherwise....the whole nightly entertainment talk-show format is pretty tired these days. What I am talking about! -
It is pretty funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rLOEvYULfY

I hate this move. Dave will always be #1 for me, but I haven't really watched these late-night network talk shows, regualarly, in a long time. Love the Colbert Report, rarely miss it. I feel like we are losing both guys. Not to say that Colbert can't succeed with a mainstream network audience...but he will now be really good at something irrelevant, as opposed to being the best at somthig very relevant. I wish CBS had tapped John Stewart instead. I wouldn't miss the Daily Show nearly as much as the Colbert Report. Judging from some of the comments here, and some of the news stories I have read on this, on-line, I just think this will turn into a huge waste of a great talent. It is amazing, after all this time, that so many people don't realize that the Colbert Report is 100% satire. Satire is Colberts strong suit...it doesn't lend itself to mainstream appeal I think Colbert is pretty close to a comic genious..if there is such a thing. Too bad CBS didn't take this opportunity to do something more daring with that time-slot, instead of another old-school talk show. End of an era. -
If We Pass on Ebron .... We Will Regret it
Buftex replied to TheBackupQB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am not sold on Ebron, at least at #9. I cannot honeslty say that my opinions are based on seeing a ton of his games (mostly highlights), but more from the collected critiques of the zillions of "experts" that are analyzing these guys. If the Bills go tight end at #9, it has to be somebody that is clearly ready to play in the NFL. Those guys don't come around often, which is why it is rare to see a tight end drafted that high. He surely has a lot of upside, but is still a little project. Just because he is the #1 pick in this draft, it doesn't necessarily mean he is an elite prospect in the NFL. He seems to be the conscensious best pass catching tight end in the draft, but there also seem to be questions about his blocking ability, and the physcial aspect of his game. I am not saying he will be a bust, or anything like that...and I would be happy to have him, if they traded back, and got another pick early in the draft (say late first, early-mid second)... it isn't as glamerous, but if the Bills do stick with the #9 pick, I would prefer them to grab one of the great O-linemen that will likely be available at the spot, than a tight end. My only exception to that would be, if by some miracle guys like Watkins, Evans or Mack should fall that low. -
Rolling Stones...haven't had a great record in almost 35 years (unless you include the recently released outtakes from "Exile On Main Street" and "Some Girls"), but they earned a lot of leeway, from me at least, for the stuff they did their first 15 years...Stones 1968-1973 are near perfection.

I know what you are saying, but the last pre-season game of the summer (which is always Detroit as far as I recall) is not only a meaningless exhitibition, but doesn't even give fans any real insight to how their team might do in the coming season. I like pre-season games, for what they reveal (or, as it turns out, whait I imagine they reveal) about our squad..but that last game against the Lions is normally pretty unwatchable. But, I still watch...cuz I don't put any value on my own time!

Yup... hope!

Eh... I kind of enjoy pre-season... I enjoy the build up to the regular season.. sometimes the regular season not as much!

You are such a tool OC. I have been pretty up front, in this thread that I don't like Trump for political reasons. I forgot the orgasms you bring yourself to by fantasizing that you are dressing people down with your incoherent picture stories. I was the first one to mention political bias as a factor in judging Trumps appeal as owner of our team. So wtf is your point? No wait, please don't bother trying to sketch an answer to that. But, tell me without a bunch of smiley faces that you are doing anything different. You are a tool. (I said it so it is fact..the OC method of debate...sounds like somebody) So, you really think Trump is the best option for our team...or are you just feeling the need to argue with someone? Seriously. -

Trump has filed for banruptcy four times. Without his inheritance, and government protection (what a kitty!), he would be another guy who lost his shirt. I give him credit (as I stated before), in that he knows his name is his greatest assett at this point. He is in the business of selling his name. He talks a lot. He says a lot. He lies a lot, or is just flat out wrong, a lot. So, why would I (or you) trust him when he says he would keep the Bills in Buffalo? How long would he keep the Bills in Buffalo? Look, I think the guy is a complete !@#$, I am not pretending any different. I have pretty much thought he was an !@#$ since I first became aware of who he was, in the early 80's That is my opinion, based on years of personal observation. So, iit is based on something...more so than "it is my opinion he will build a stadium in Buffalo". Based on what? Because he is really into building stadiums? What is that opinion based on? I suspect, those in favor of him becoming the owner of the Buffalo Bills, feel some poltical commonality with Trump. I recognize the names from the PPP. His "politics" have only made that more clear to me. I realize, that is opinion. My choice to own the team is Terry Pegula. He is a guy who made his forutne (it wasn't handed to him) in the fracking industry. I am no fan of fracking. I would presume that pretty much anyone who might purchase the Bills is on the other side of most political issues, than me. But, that doesn't make me necessarily think they are !@#$s. Donald Trump is an !@#$. -

Well, he certainly used a lot of words...and emoticons...OC trademarks. But OC still doesn't offer anyting other than opinion, as to why Trump would be a good owner for the Bills, or any professional sports team, for that matter. His history doesn't really indicate this...and his bluster is just bluster. -
I enjoy this show. I have watched the first 3 seasons, and find it very entertaining. The gratuitous nudity (and many gorgeous women....Oona Chaplin.... ) make up for some of its' "talkiness". I normally watch it on HBO On Demand, as opposed to its' first showing. Afterwards they have these little 5 minute "inside the episode" features where the writers talk about the episode you just watched. I am often struck by how often they refer to the books, and tell you things about the characters that are, presumably, in the books, but not part of the show. I have been watching it this way, since the beginning, so I am not sure if that is adding to my enjoyment, or not. Like, do the episodes stand on their own, and are the characters fleshed out enough on the screen...or do you need knowledge from the books?

Kind of surprised on that too... I remember, around the time he was inducted into the HOF, hearing a story about how he would never cash the paychecks he got from the LA Express, and the Tampa Bay Bucs. Supposedly, the Bucs had to contact him, after he went to San Francisco, to remind him to cash his checks, as many were set to be void. He used to just throw them in a dresser drawer. He cashed his first check from the Express, and bought a pick-up truck that he drove for most of his NFL career. Just thought it was funny. My own paychecks are spent before I even get them! He's worth thousands!

Is Stevie expendable now that we got Williams?

I like Goodwin a lot, and think he is very talented. But you can't overlook the fact that he was injured in nearly every game he played last season. -

I was thinking that Williams (Mike) reminds me more of Eric Moulds than anyone else the Bills have had on the roster, during this dark era of Bills football. -

et tu Kirby Jackson? -
I am pretty happy about this trade. The guy is a legit NFL WR. If, as Bucky Gleason warns, he is bad news, they can get rid of him, as easily as they traded a 6th round pick for him. Playing at home could be a good thing, or a bad thing. But, I feel really optimistic about this team right now, so I am preferring to see the potential greatness of this move. It may just be for show, but the fact that he addressed his off the field issues, and seems to be taking some responsibility for them is a positive.

Donald Trump asked to invest in the Bills
Buftex replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess buffoonery is an open ended word, with lots of room for interpritation. To me, as it applies to Trump, it refers to his boorish behavior, unfounded, uninformed opnions on pretty much everything... he is a bit of a rube, for somebody as wealthy has he is. Like I said ealrier, I can't recall him ever really discussing anything, with anyone who wasn't kissing his ass, where his first tact isn't to insult or denegrade somebody else. I realize, some see that "tough guy" act as somethiing to admire, but I just think he comes off like a petulant a-hole, in pretty much every public appearence or statement I have heard from him. My personal opinion is that he has all the qualities I would least like to see in somebody owning the Bills. He is too much talk and bluster... and his greatest claim to fame, other than "maybe" running for president or NYS Governor, is for making "yer fired" a pop culture reference. My feelings of distaste for him, I will admit, may have some poltical foundations, but they were in place, long before the current president was in office. Trump promising to keep the Bills in Buffalo means little to me. As I stated above, sure, he might purchase them, but nothing to gurarntee he won't turn around and sell them the first chance he gets to make a profit. And, to anybody who thinks Jerry Jones is a disgrace as an owner (or whatever negative connotations you might want to apply to him), I honestly think Trump isn't nearly as intelligent, and only matches Jones in arrogance. -
Sorry mill.

Yes. I (like others here) was under the impression that Trump owned casinos still, but as has been reported multiple times now, he has only sold his name to casinos (some he used to own) for the cash. The more I am reading about him, his name has become his biggest asset at this point. For some reason, his brand of buffoonery seems to resonate with some... so I will give him credit for being smart enough to know that he needs to keep his name relevant. It just strikes me as odd, the guy can't answer a question (either with his own mouth, or through his publcist) in which he doesn't insult somebody else... perhaps he knows he has little substance to stand on, otherwise? The billionaire bully...I won't claim I would never root for the Bills if he owned them, but he would certainly be my last option. I don't for one second believe he would keep the Bills in Buffalo any longer than he legally had to. And, who is to say, if he purchased them tomorrow, he wouldn't sell them 5 years from now, to the highest bidder, when he has squanederd yet more of his daddy's fortune.
