  1. I can't see it as a revenge thing, as it seems like the victims have all been tied to the church or the Tuttle schools... it would be random, but they do mention that the oldest daughter is now in New Orleans, where Rust goes to interview the male prostitute. Oh well....I guess we will find out shortly!
  2. Rust Cohle explains Matthew McConaughey:
  3. In some ways, I would think it wold be awesome if Rust was the killer they have been looking for all along...but at this point, it would be silly if that happened... don't necessarily like the Maggie idea either, but I just can't tie the daughter into any ending for this daughter, without Maggie and/or Rust being involved...I don't like Scooby-Doo endings, but you never know...
  4. Maggie and Rust perhaps?
  5. So, the finale is this weekend. Anyone care to guess how this all ends up? I won't make predictions, but I have a few questions. How is whatever is happening with Martys' oldest daughter going to tie into the story? They have spent way too much time on her mental state for it to just be some sort of aside...especially in such a short story. She is in New Orleans, working as an artist, and is "on and off her meds". The hooker that Rust goes to talk to, Johnny Joanie, was in New Orleans too, as I recall. There were also, what I thought, were a couple of odd scenes with Marty's wife, Maggie, in this past episode. With the shows back and forth cutting in time you don't necessarily know if what you are watching is linear story telling. One moment, she and Marty are speaking, after two years they say, in her living room...it seems like a cordial conversation, then they cut back to Marty and Rust in the storage unit, then back to Maggie and Marty talking in the living room again. In the second shot in the living room, it seems like somebody said something that we didn't get to hear...Marty is standing, not sitting, and looking sort of distracted, she says "We haven't spoken in two years, are here to say goodbye?" What was that all about? Then there was the scene where she drove to the bar that Rust is working in....how would she know where he was working...why did she go there? When Marty asked him if she had spoken to Rust since he had been back, she says no...it seems believable...but she lied to the two cops questioning her the week before, pretty easily and believably. Has she been in contact with Rust more recently than Marty had been? In regards to the old cop (Steve?), who is now a sheriff elsewhere in Louisiana... was he lying to Marty to cover things up for Tuttle, or was he lying, because he was just a lazy cop who didn't do his due diligence way back, when trying to find out what happened to Marie Fontenot? More questions than answers...it certainly appears that all signs are leading to the Tuttle family...I don't necessarily expect some huge surprise, shocking ending, but just trying to figure out how it will all tie together.
  6. Good artcle...but I gotta say, it makes me little sad. I hated the Toronto series as much as anyone, but as the article alludes, the Bills postpoinng it, or pulling out of it, doesn't really negate the reasons that it started in the first place.
  7. I have never watched "Lost", so not sure of the comparisons. But, I will say, I enjoy "Walking Dead" pretty well...when I have had issues with the show, it has generally been from poor writing and poor character development. It seems the writers this season (the first half, and then the few since it has returned) have been taking pains to give the characters more depth. It is a welcome change, for me.
  8. I don't think anyone is advocating Lewis as a starter... I do agree that fans have become a bit too impatient. I think, as a collective, with our team enjoying so little success (okay, no success) in the last 15 years, we have lost the ability to keep the problems of the current team in perspective, because we pile all our frustrations accumulated over 15 years, on the guys currently wearing the uniform, or working in the front office.
  9. Watch out for the pop-tops when you kick off you flip-flops! C'mon man...when I was in 7th grade, "The Stranger" was THE make-out album!
  10. I like Thad too. I can live with him as the #2 guy as well. I like the energy he brings to the offense.
  11. So, chknwing334, lots of useful info here, huh?
  12. I was hooked on this show for quite a while, and I still find it pretty interesting... I love when they are making buys, and going through the short history on things....but I can't stand the sort "schtick" that it seems to be favoring more and more. "Comic Book Men" on AMC is much the same. I am not a comic-book fanatic at all, but I love the hisorical aspect of pop culture, so you can learn a lot from it...but then they start doing litlle bits that kind of take over the shows. Everything is just a little too staged after a whi,.e.
  13. A very good friend of mine from back home knows Jill and her family. They sound like a great family. No doubt Jim has gained a lot of his strength through her. She has always struck me as a pretty remarkable woman. The pain from the punishment that Kelly took on the field is likely miniscule compared to the adversity that family has faced. Behind many great men are even better women.
  14. Who needs a house out in Hackensack? Is that all you get for your money?
  15. If you haven't seen the Sopranos by now, by all means...binge away... best show ever, IMO. I will recommend Nurse Jackie on Showtime. Half hour episodes, really excellent acting. I will admit, the first season is good, but a little erratic. It tried a little too hard (not to good results) to play of the "ady" part of the dramady formula the first season...when they dropped that, worlds better. If you want comedy, I would recommend "Larry Sanders" (my favorite modern era comedy, was on HBO in the 90's), or "Veep".
  16. Not as cripplingly queer as the "German comforteering" commercials....
  17. Nice article, though I hesitated when I saw it was Rick Reilly...not my favorite sports writer. Funny, Reilly mentions that the Bills super bowl teams never got the respect they deserved while trying to evoke sympathy for Kelly, but Reilly himself was one of their more vocal critics...."overrated" he called the Bills teams of the early 90's. That said, don't like to hear that Jim is going through so many tough things. I realize he has his critics, but from where I stand, he has transformed from a brash young guy with lots of talent and a big ego, to just a good, decent guy. Not everyone makes that transition.
  18. For some reason, this is the type of workout I picture jboyst doing: https://www.facebook...670476186357216 BTW- NSFW, unless you work on a farm!
  19. One of the stranger parts of the article, for me anyways, he writes that an NFL GM told him the Bills overpaid for Lawson...but the numbers quoted in the same article, seem miniscule in todays NFL. I guess all the speculation I have read says that Schwartz will run that "9 wide" contraption...but then Marrone says that he wants the Bills defense to be "the same, but better" next year. Whatever that means. If there is some real structural change in the scheme, it may put a different priority on D-linemen and/or Linebackers... so somebody could get caught up in a numbers game. I just thought Lawson was really good last year...for all we know, there is likely a chance we are hiring a new DC in 2015.
  20. One of the (many) downsides of constant co-ordinator changes could be losing guys like Manny Lawson. I am still not really sure how much different Schwartz defense will be than Pettines... http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/7598/lawsons-future-with-bills-remains-cloudy
  21. Pretty interesting read in today's Buffalo News regarding the LaFontaine situation: http://www.buffalonews.com/columns/bucky-gleason/sabres-suffer-credibility-problem-20140303
  22. While I have naked wrestled cops while on drugs, what makes you think I would do it in Irving? What an insult!
