  1. Yes they are HOF'ers but the relevance of the story is the perception of the persona of Dan Marino the married, good guy & family man. Fathering a child while still married and no perceived racial impact, IMO. But like I said previously, it appears his family has dealt with this personal matter...so should the media.
  2. Here a mock from one of my favorite college scouting sites. They seem to use your model to drafting, outside of the QB they have slated for the Bills (I like EJ Manuel in that spot) it's pretty interesting...maybe the way the Bills go on draft day. Early projections 2013 NFL Draft
  3. LOL...Maybe because he's married and having kids by someone other than his wife. Obviously it's a personal matter since his family seems to be dealing with it. BTW since you brought the others in, were they married while having these other children? Or did you include them in this conversation because they're black (rhetorical, I don't want to go down that road)?Just asking?
  4. I agree with this ^^^^. I have always thought that the FO has been a tad arrogant with their premium pics as well. Nix says that production is the key but the picks of Maybin, Flowers, McCargo, etc (Nix was on the staff for most with the exception of McCargo). I'd like to add production and how they fared against top prospects to the equation...when Maybin was drafted I cringed because I saw him play in two games (USC & Iowa) and I didn't even notice him on the field. I'm hoping the pendulum swings back in our favor draft- wise...we're way past due.
  5. Yeah this was the one that came to mind...TU-RRIBLE (My Charles Barkley voice)! Sammy Morris had a long career and I think Tillman caught on with another team(s) also but overall a bad group.
  6. It was more or less an overall comment to all. No one specific but only a hit dog howls...Pretty sure he loses sleep every day because of this.
  7. For one, what mega-star isn't an egomaniac either externally or internally? You basically will become this after being praised daily by fanatics & media...very tough NOT to fall into this IMO. This "act" that you say seems to be very heartfelt and has been backed prior to him getting the attention from the media. It's been well documented in the Baltimore area of the deeds of him even before starting his foundation. His "act" has also been described as honest & sincere by Lee Evans, other NFL players and most people & groups that he's spoken to & mentored. Is it over the top...yes! But it's who he is and what's made him GREAT AT WHAT HE DOES. So stop HATING !!! If he were playing for the Bills (who whole-heartily needs someone with this leadership) you'd be singing a different tone! And btw...GOD IS GREAT...ALL THE TIME!!!
  8. Wow! That's how you interpreted this...Just, WOW!!! SMH...speechless!
  9. Mine really haven't changed because these all-stars games per se the practices & interviews reveal more IMO. So I'm sticking to my ranking for the upcoming draft 1st RD- G. Smith, T. Wilson (Both mid - late 1st rd) 2-3 RD- Manuel, Glennon, Barkley, Jones, Bray 4-5 RD- Nassib maybe here 6- Priority FA- rest of the bunch
  10. Let he who is without sin caste the first stone! Why even go there? Sore azz losers!
  11. +1 I'm with you on this one...the notion of a refreshing approach is good but the same cast of characters are in the lab. I like most wish for the best for this staff but all the optimism to me seems to be shiny bubbles...OBD has always had an heir of arrogance in their approach to doing things. My issue and to paraphrase Chan in his last press conference- he know's there better but doesn't have any proof to show you...seems to some up the whole organizational approach.
  12. That's a helluva article,Lee Evans was one of my favorites with the Bills. Lee seems to be a very grounded & humbled young man and going to an organization like the Ravens exposed him to an elite organization... Every team should be striving for the same goal each year but as the OP posed the question from the ex-player...How does a OBD explain the years of ineptitude? Was it lack of accountability, leadership or cronyism in the front office that has led to our decade long absence from contention? I always felt a sense of arrogance from OBD with their evaluations and drafting of personnel and/or FA's but just like Chan...they never could show us any proof of these clever assessments. Because how in the hell could they think this team could compete, with the likes of the coaching in our own division, with a mediocre (at best) coach and a career back-up (with a losing record) as our QB long term and contend for a superbowl? Russ is right in one regard, they has done their best work with the off-field product but even a magician knows that the audience eventually catches on to their tricks. I'll give Russ & the crew a short leash with the "forward thinking" approach but leadership & accountability has to be an organizational foundation to breed success.
  13. Very dynamic player. Appears to let the ball into his body more often then I like to see from a receiver but I like what I see. He definitely likes using the whole field, LOL...WOW! NFL Network with Bucky Brook (his guest on the show) had him going to us at 8, that was the first I heard of him going that high.
  14. I have a feeling EJ Manuel is high on many teams boards...he has a great mix of size & athleticism (6'4"- 240 lbs). He had some shaky outings during his senior year but that may have been due to inexperience at the skilled positions. He appears to have the leadership qualities needed for the position, prior to his bowl game the espn staff spoke of him being a student of the game and film junky. They also noted that he wouldn't publicly call out some players for missing site adjustments, running wrong routes etc...I'll try to search for the link and post.
  15. Not bad but if a blue chip OT is there a #8, I hope Nix's would snatch him...I'd also replace Tyler Bray for Nassib in that 2nd rd scenario. I'm a fan of creating a strong ground game offensively with the playaction format ala the 49'ers. Coke addict? Thought it was weed?
  16. Funny how blogs and other internet reporting mediums has diluted true and responsible investigative reporting. It's difficult for them to compete these guys...some just float crap out there & see what sticks to drive up traffic to their site. If it accurate, they're 1st with the story. If not, no follow-up...tough spot for the legit pro, IMO
  17. Or more likely to under throw it, a mess either way!...Congrats to the Fitzpatrick's on your new bundle of joy !
  18. Congrats to J. Byrd for getting the recognition while playing in such a crappy defensive scheme this year. Hopefully Pettine has plans to highlight his strengths next year...I can see him using his instincts & intelligence to become an even more dominate player. Also congrats to M. Lynch (wished he were still here) for turning his career around and making the 1st team, BEAST-MODE !!!
