Who will be this years surprise cut ?
San-O replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Neither Pears or Hogan would be a suprise IMO. They need to go and /or be replaced. Graham: would be a surpise given he's still on 1st contract? -
Change in running philosophy that makes CJ expendable?
San-O replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bingo. Same as I was thinking. Dixon was a ST in San Fran. I read, and hardly carried the ball at all. -
And the Bills draft philosophy regarding QB selection has been consistently terrible. Example E.J, from what I have read, is the same QB he was in college, just more injuries.
-
Disagree. Going with enlightener on this one. The Bills are a number of starters away from competing for anything, a playoff spot. Byrd is an elite player per most on here, and the Bills looked no better or worse this year with or without him that I recall?

What does Marrone mean? Coaches? QBs?
San-O replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, they have Thad Lewis with 5 starts, Jeff Tuel with 1 starts, and E.J. with 10 starts and 8 finishes? -

So ths Bills are basically ging into 2014 season with the same QB lineup that rendered the mess of 2013? -
Article Analyzing & Explaining Wide9
San-O replied to Mark Long Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ae of right now, the Bills appear to be going into next season with the same ST coach and same QBs. I hope this changes, however being the 2nd year of this iteration of the rebuild, maybe not? I really think they need to draft a QB in the 1st three rounds. -
How many of our needs will be addressed in FA?
San-O replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills are going nowhere with the QBs currently on roster and need to take someone, IMO. It's just that simple. E.J. has shown me nothing. -

+ 1 Bingo. Yes. But, that's not how the Bills operate. They will not do what is required to win. Hence, the cycle of losing. IMO Again, BINGO. -
Bills hire Jim Schwartz DC, Todd Downing QB coach
San-O replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
omg. So now the Bills have the fired ST and head coach from the Lions. Awesome. -
I have been misunderstood I believe: I am HOPING they get an analytics dept. up and running, obviously it was not a consideration when selecting ST coaches. I'm pretty sure it was not used to select a QB either, so why go out in a limb and say anything when you don't have it, or don't use it? Not saying BS to analytics, saying BS to Marrone and Brandon for not having it or not using it, or both.
-
I'm going to call B.S. on both Brandon, Marrone and their analyics. Anyone on this board pretty much knew or throught the ST coaching hire by Marrone was a bad one: BS in, BS out. Marrone hired his pal for ST coordinator, and the ST went from about 8th in the league to 30th: no analytics required for that one. Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining. STOP THE BS! Marrone-Brandon & Analytics

RIght, understand. It's just getting kind of sad when you see so many subpar coaches come through here that you can almost pick out their weakness or flaw after the first season.

I was just reading post again. The two below are simply facts, so how can these be wrong? o Coach Marrone hires his friend and ST coach, then says it's the players fault for bad ST performance. o And from the Bills CEO Russ Brandon that the team has much more talent this year (2013) than when Nix took over.
-
True. Found a site that has running plays and play called direction per area of line: Buffalo was faar and away the most predictable with more plays up the middle than any other team in the league. I will try and find again.
-
I'm really trying to understand the ST issue, and be respectful. o Coach Marrone hires his friend and ST coach, then says it's the players fault for bad ST performance. o I am hearing the players aren't there for the ST unit this year, however the ST unit ranked # 8 approx. last year. o Also, that the roster underwent changes due to the 1st year coach rebuild. o And from the Bills CEO Russ Brandon that the team has much more talent this year (2013) than when Nix took over. o And that the roster needed to be purged of ST players from last year to make room for new players which led to a 30th ranked ST unit? So, someone is very wrong here because all these things can't be true. I realize there's no 1 answer, but who or what is most likely correct? Because apparently it's not Crossman's fault?
-
Well, Buffalo hung their hat on 2 NFL rookie QBs this year...
-
If history is any indicator, ST under Crossman will be even worse this year. I don't know how. AS far as the "accountability" talk: there is none, so stop talking about it every game.
-
Agree 100 %. I love Freddy, but he is old and when he hits the wall the offense is going to come to s screeching halt. C.J. simply can't hold up to a a lot of carries, and if Fred does lose another step or go down, you have problems, IMO. Pick up an every down back in mid rounds of draft, don't be stupid and draft a RB high. Nobody does this anymore but the stills it seems? But, first fix the O line, again.
-
I posted earlier in week showing ST stats overall, where Buffalo ranked # 8 last year, some others have said # 6. Same link/site had Buffalo ST ranked # 30 overall: that's a 22 spot drop in ranking. Impressive for only 1 year!!!
-
Right, I'd bet 3/4 of the players on ST are the same guys from last year. Marrone didn't even bother to think that one through, just automatically blamed the players protecting his pal. How can you replace the coach if the problem is the players???
-
Interesting. So much for accountability garbage from Marroone. Also, it's interesting that the 1st year of his coaching ST for each team shows much different than the subsequent years. Maybe it take a full year of his sucky coaching to actually sink in? It only took you 3 or 4 posts in to get the official Bills apologist post completed. Awesome! How come Bills ST ranked 8 or 9 overall list year, however under Crossman they are ranked 30th overall? I guess they just liked tackling BETTER last year than this year.
-
Marrone is full of B.S. We know that now. I posted a thread earlier in week showing ST play ranked 8th overall last season, and 30th this season. So much for accountability from Marrone. it's just not there.
